Sockbaby.Com - You've GOT to See This!

Hehe, that was pretty funny, much better than I expected. Cordova majorly reminded me of Buddy from Six String Samurai and Bruce Campbell. The fights were pretty nice, some sloppy kicks at times and it looks like the fight in episode 2 pulled a page out of the Donnie Yen book of fights with the random arm flailing, but overall not bad. Good use of After Effects too.

I've only seen the first episode and I agree that some kicks were slop, but for what seems to be just a bunch of guys with the luck of having a camera, I have to say they got some talent! :198:

Some of the moves were pretty good and I think creatively choreographed for a non-professional production.

I'm looking forward to the next. There were just so many great immature one liners... "Go tell your alien brothers... that Ronnie Cordova says they're gay!"

 Yeah the one liners are pretty lame, but I pay a lot more attention to the choreographed action. Not the best but sweet nonetheless....

Can't view it here at work. Was it cool? You DID mention Donnie Yen.:D

Yeah it's worth a viewing, but being an independent filmmaker, I think ALL independent films are worth a viewing. :anime: The reason I mentioned Donny Yen though was because of his halfassed choreography style throughout most of the 90's where the combatants would just smash their limbs together as fast as they possibly could, and it just looks ridiculous. They only do it for like a couple seconds in Sockbaby Episode 2 and it's because he Ronnie was trying to fight 3 guys at the same time so they really had no other choice.

Well, judging by some of the camera angles, the way the fights are framed, and the extensive use of After Effects, I'd say that the director probably has quite a bit of amateur experience under his belt. All they need now is a better camera (preferably something in the 3 CCD department), an actual plot, and longer running times and we'd all be set for a cult DVD release. :)

And geez, the one liners were awesome guys. That's one of the reasons that Cordova reminds me of Bruce Campbell.

Yup, this guy ain't no geek off the street. Handy with the steel, if ya know what I mean, he has earned his keep, so sayeth, my friend....

Sockbaby fuckin' rocks my socks!
That was pure genius and some really nice fighting to boot.

The man behind is the great Doug TenNapel who's pedigree includes creating Earthworm Jim and founding the now defunct game company The Neverhood who created the outstanding claymated games Neverhood for PC and Skullmonkeys for PS1. They also did the lackluster 3D fighter Boombots for PS1 before folding.

"You want to food-up with us or what?" :D

Dude no wonder. I want to food-up with him and his posse.

Do I get a mechanical arm though, is the question? :shakefist
