Single Girl Only Sentais - Problem or No?

Dino Sentais have always had one girl

The producer didn't say that was why there's no Yellow, though. They don't have to stick to what Zyuranger/Abaranger did. I don't understand this fandom sometimes, at first people complained another dinosaur theme was too repetitive, now they don't want Kyoryuger to be different by having more than one girl and/or not having an evil Ranger ...

Although I would certainly like to see more girls in my toku, the Kyoryuger's writer's history with girl characters isn't too stellar.

I'm going to wait and see what happens with this, and hopefully the next ones will be more mixed gender sentai.

Just because you can point at something and call it sexist, doesn't mean it actually is. More likely than not, it's just coincidental.

Toei and Japanese studios don't have to follow the same Politically Correct rules you've grown up with, nor are they concerned with western ideals of equality. This is why Power Rangers tries to keep their Male to Female numbers about even, and it's why they always try to hire a multiracial cast for the Rangers.

AkibaRanger had 1 male and 2 female Rangers, not to mention quite a few other females in the main cast. Should we call that show sexist against males while we're at it?

In turn, we don't have to accept their way of thinking, nor should we stop discussing stuff just because "it's not going to change"

People are already watching to see what Saban will do with the lack of girls in Go-Busters, since they never had to adapt a Sentai that started with 3 before. Which is all well and good but we've only just started Megaforce ...

If it was because they didn't want guys in the show, it probably would be. In this case, it's for fanservice purposes

To me, it doesn't matter. I just care if the characters are good enough. It sucks that sometimes they are done as ditzes or stereotypes, but there's precedence for single women teams to be actually great , for instance, the first three sentai
, not sure on Denjiman or Dynaman , but SV had female characters that weren't bad though not members. GV, not sure either but so far, Pink is actually a badass.

In Liveman, Blue was notably a strong minded woman, though not sure about much of Pink Turbo. In Zyuranger through Kakuranger the token female characters are not only pretty awesome in their own rights, but even the first leader of a Sentai team not to be repeated until Timeranger and Shinkenger. Never seen GoGo V or Gingaman, but going by Lost Galaxy, Pink was pretty cool.

In Timeranger, TimePink is leader [Watched Time Force which is close to the Sentai] and again hardcore while I can't judge GaoWhite, Hurricaneblue was amazing in her own ways, going from the crossover movie I watched with Aba and select first few episodes. AbareYellow is good too and the GekiYellow, Go-OnYellow and then Buster Yellow was my fave. KyoryuPink seems to be starting well as well.

Single woman teams also have been done well, particularly since they were edgier and were one of the guys so to speak, in contrast to how two women teams have been done.

Japan does things differently because they aren't obsessed with Political Correctness, though ironically, for a nation obsessed with PC, America and the West in no doubt has one of the most least diverse casting practices and media for having people of diverse ethnic origins and for having films that neglect their viewership [56% is female] with male leading films.

I find it ironic, really that a nation that is "sexist" and has not much PC has no problems with making a manga franchise such as Sailor Moon and other female leading shows a hit, yet in America, it took almost a decade before Avatar hit the airwaves, specifically Korra, to have minority and female leads that aren't weak sexual objects like April O'Neal on TMNT before they made her strong. I rarely see female leads or minority leads for TV shows here that do things their male counterparts do , yet political correctness is so good , right?:redface2:

Doesn't seem to have anything.

Make Gold a girl? :redface2: People got no imagination sometimes.

They turned guys into women before anyways, so its not a big deal. In turn, they could make Silver a Ranger in of him/herself.

Same with Kyoryuger. Make Gold or Green a girl. Problem solved. Change the morphers to their cellphone belts as well to evade the gun controversy.

Ninja Storm and Dino Thunder both say hello. :P

^ Yeah, I meant Saban's never had to do it, badly phrased

I never liked SunVulcan for reasons other than the lack of female members, but I do think it had some very good female roles for the villainesses, arguably better than some Sentai with two heroines ...

I don't mind one female member sentai. But, I do like the concept of an extra female hero...the concept of a one-shot / part time / joke hero feels refreshing. They're heroes, but no sentai. The whole Rider-like / Non-Rider Warrior motif.

Misa / White Rose Mask

Kyoko / Seig Jeanne

Emiri / AbarePink

Mele...despite being villain early on, she was still a tranforming character, but not technically sentai (well not until later on in Geki)

PS: Had Thuy Trang stayed...she'd make a great "Kirinranger"...RIP Trini.
