Singapore & Tokusatsu

I'm off to see my dad in Singapore in a couple of weeks and just wondered if there was anything tokusatsu related in Singapore. Shops, screenings on TV, cinema, anything.

Thanks in advance :)

if you go to a place called China Square Central in chinatown, there're many toku toy/hobby stores there catering to adult collectors (you'll never find a kid running about the toy stores there). there's a store called ng's collection there selling the most recent sentai toys (mainly mecha) etc at japanese prices. also there are loads of other stores that sell other toku stuffs. on sunday, there'll be flea markets selling toys etc so it's especially crowded on sundays.

The only toku series to watch here in S'pore would be the locally dubbed KR Blade on Sundays at 11am...or 11.30am I forget on Kids Central. Aside from that the channel is also showing PRDT on weekdays at 6pm.

No chance of catching the Den-O or Geki movie here though.

Our National Day Parade used to have well-built soldiers from the army dress up as Shocker troops and ride motorcycles in a V formation. Our current Prime Minister doesn't like Tokusatsu though, so he abolished this tradition, and gave us badly dubbed versions of Kamen Rider to turn us off the series. How cunning.

I haven't been to Singapore since I was 5 but there are plenty of Tokusatsu stuff just like in the Philippines, however I'm not sure if they still air Sentai though, they probably have switched to Power Rangers.

If anyone is lucky enough to have RTM 2 ( Malaysian Channel ) on their tv either at home or at the hotel, it is showing Mirai Sentai Timeranger every saturday, 4pm. But it is dubbed in Malay :disappoin . Anyway, most likely it will make way for Power Ranger Mystic Force in the very near future ...:redface2:
