Shuhei Yoshida thinks Nintendo will do well with Switch 2 for years

Former PlayStation exec Shuhei Yoshida thinks Nintendo's gonna be in good shape with the Switch 2 for a long time. He believes both Nintendo and Sony should aim to keep the current generation going as long as possible. This was part of an interview with The Verge, where he also touched on Xbox's subscription model plans.

"I think they should try to keep the current generation as long as possible."

Seems like Yoshida has faith in Nintendo's approach. Guess we'll see how that plays out.

Yoshida's comments about the Switch 2's longevity seem a bit overly optimistic, especially considering how quickly gaming trends can shift. Nintendo's previous hardware, like the Wii U, shows that even beloved brands can stumble. What specific aspects of the Switch 2 do you think will keep it relevant for years, aside from brand loyalty?
