Should Ultraman Zero get his own series?

It's not a question of whether or not he will or if he should. IMO, it's just a question of when because despite the lack of official announcements, I'm 99.6% positive that it's only a matter of time.

Which still leaves people waiting for ages. Didn't Tsuburaya say to expect a full fledged Ultraman series in late 2008?

Or spring of 2009, I think the rumor went. It's the whole TYO thing, I'm sure. They've probably spent a lot of time trying to figure out how the new management is taking over the series. I guess the movie was the first step they finally decided upon.

But it's not like they've been dormant. We've gotten three limited-run series, two excellent films (I will defend Super 8 to the death. TO THE DEATH.), and two DVD gaiden in the meantime. Yeah, it's not the same as a full series proper but you can't act like they haven't been doing anything at all. And, granted, the gaiden weren't anything worth writing home about. That said, Ultraseven X is misunderstood and underrated while Ultra Galaxy is fun but really, really painful to look at sometimes. Just sayin'.

We'll get a new series. Just have patience.

I'm just praying that we'll still see lots of traditional effects in the new series. I know there's no way they could ever make a TV series look as good as the new movie if they decided to use similar techniques but I'm afraid they'll try anyway.

I'm sure it's not what he meant but Ultra Galaxy is a PAINFULLY budgeted series. I want to see another series with some actual production values again. Haven't had one of those since Seven X. :/

But you say to have patience, but what's getting annoying is how there are such hugeee gaps between films and series. I want it to be like it was during Cosmos. Whether you were a fan of the series or not, Ultraman was extremely prolific in this period and had the TV series going on. In the midst of this films were being released concurrent with the shows, and new toy lines were being released like crazy.

It feels like Tsuburaya is having a tough time financially, perhaps even because of Toei's success.

You might even cite 1999 as Ultraman's biggest commercial year. The Gaia film was released, along with the series, and the new Ultra Hero Series and Ultra Monster Series were all new to the shelves.

Cosmos may have been prolific but it also kind of sucked, if you ask me. Quantity is NOT quality, my friend, and I would much rather TPC give us a little bit of awesome at a time than continually bombard us with mediocrity the way Toei does.

I also highly doubt that TPC is having financial trouble given that Super 8 Ultra Brothers was the highest grossing Ultraman film of all time and that Ultra Galaxy Legends seems to have done similar or maybe even better business. Toei may be raking in more money but if Tsuburaya's business is better than ever then I can hardly imagine them complaining very much.

I get that. But I mean producing an entire series and a single film is different. The reason I feel a loss of financial security is because it's JUST movies coming out.

if there is Super Hero Time. the combine of Showa-Heisei style in Kamen Rider W, Tensou Sentai Goseiger and Ultraman Zero. will become biggest blockbuster of all! plus we need Ultraman Zero have own series too.

I can't see Toe and TPC ever agreeing on something like that. Heck, the only thing they ever agreed on was that stupid 10 minutes Ultraman vs. Kamen Rider. It was pointless and didn't add anything to either franchise really.:disappoin
