Should Sentai Follow Kamen Rider's Lead?

Well, KR has been "milking" it with the forms aswell since the birth of Kuuga. Going from 3 forms (Black RX) to the 14 or whatever the # was (Kuuga) is a massive jump.

Nnnnnnnoooooo. No. SS and KR are fine the way they generally are, and they should stay distinct from one another. in the case of these two, being different is a good thing. it means that Toei still knows how to keep separate franchises separate. Variety is the spice of life, but taking an idea from KR and putting it in SS would be lazy, and generally not a good idea

You seem to be contradicting yourself. If Variety is indeed the spice of life, then wouldn't it be a good idea for the 30+ year franchise to try it at least once?

Add a little variety to the formula.

Another thing I want to see in Sentai, is the heroes working separately before becoming a team.
This would of course require all of them to have humanoid mecha. We have not had that for long, so it would be a welcoming change.

Magiranger was only five years ago, so it hasn't been that long. But the MagiMajin barely did anything individually that didn't require CGI, unlike the Kyodai Juushou or Blocker Robos.

A Sentai where the team doesn't come together until later has been done, but not the way Rider has introduced its heroes. A year where that happens wouldn't be a bad way to shake things up.

I agree Sentai could use some fresh ideas to pull itself out of the downturn it's been suffering lately, but I personally don't see KR-style form changing as the thing that could save it. Sentai, after all, is about a team of heroes. Generally each of them is good at something different. It's part of what makes them distinct. In a KR show where the hero changes forms, however, the idea seemed to be to let him adapt to new situations more fluidly. Unless handled very carefully, these are ideas that would cancel each other out.

For the mecha, that might work. Gingaman had robots where they'd call a different one depending on what beating the current monster required as I recall. And Hurricaneger had that thing where they could make it really fast and agile.

I honestly don't like how KR's been implenting this lately, however. OOO could easily become the Gaoranger of Kamen Rider.

I don't think it's quite the same. Gao did go overboard with the combos and repaints, but OOO is just taking a concept that's been used since RX and doing a new take on it. It's comparable to how in certain video games you can scroll through the collection of weapons and gadgets to use when needed. Only here you scroll through Medals.
