It's Judgement Time!
Okay, my birthday's next month and my parents told me I should start thinking about what I want for my birthday, so...
The question is, should I get a Wii?
And so other questions regarding the Wii..
How big must your bedroom be to play Wii?
Because of it's remote thingy, is the Wii only good for Arcade games such as Cooking Mama? Coz I heard the controls for Zelda were not very good (I even saw a clip on YouTube of a Dad having a horrible time playing Zelda on Wii), and there was this DragonBall Z fighting game and the controls don't look too nice.
Is it really worth downloading "Virtual Console" games (apart from slightly nicer grapics)? Especially when most of the VC games are N64, SNES, NES, MegaDrive and other Retro games which you can buy not so expensive from 2nd hand shops, EBay and the like, and I already have an N64 a SNES, a MegaDrive, etc..
1) yes, you should get a wii
2) Your bedroom does not have to be that big. Just make sure you have enough room between your chair/bed and your TV. The manual will let you know how much space is preferred but I think, at least a few feet of space is preferred.
3) The Zelda controls are excellent, dont be dismayed by any Youtube video. And so far the controls have worked very well on all my games including DBZ. The controlls work easily but can be intimidating on DBZ at first.
4) I havent downloaded any VC games. I may download some N64 games at most but the rest of them are too expensive. Might as well download Roms or something. If you already have a N64, SNES, MegaDrive, etc then no need to re-buy the games you already have right?
The Wii is fun. It's cheap for your parents and it would make a great gift for you. Some games I enjoy are:
Zelda
Rayman Raving RAbbids
Red Steel
Sonic and the Secret Rings (amazing)
There are quite a few really fun games on there. I suggest picking up a Mini-Game pack like Super MonkeyBall or Rayman and grab a couple single player titles like Zelda and Sonic. Sonic has a single player mode and a compilation of mini-games. Making it a double hitter in terms of what to do with it.
Also be sure to ask for a second Wiimote and Nunchuk controller attachment for your system so you can play with someone else in the household. Those games are very fun playing with a brother or a friend at first.
I would say a Wii is very nice to have. It takes a bit of set up but once you get going, it's very fun and smooth
