Should I get a Nintendo Wii?

Black Ranger RX

I don't have low self esteem.
Okay, my birthday's next month and my parents told me I should start thinking about what I want for my birthday, so...

The question is, should I get a Wii?

And so other questions regarding the Wii..

How big must your bedroom be to play Wii?

Because of it's remote thingy, is the Wii only good for Arcade games such as Cooking Mama? Coz I heard the controls for Zelda were not very good (I even saw a clip on YouTube of a Dad having a horrible time playing Zelda on Wii), and there was this DragonBall Z fighting game and the controls don't look too nice.

Is it really worth downloading "Virtual Console" games (apart from slightly nicer grapics)? Especially when most of the VC games are N64, SNES, NES, MegaDrive and other Retro games which you can buy not so expensive from 2nd hand shops, EBay and the like, and I already have an N64 a SNES, a MegaDrive, etc..

Unless you're lazy getting a wii is a great idea. You need a space big enough to move 1 or 2 arms to their full length. I have about a meter space where I play. It's enough room to do anything in Zelda.

Plus the Wii isn't about hardcore arcade games and stuff. Get Kororinpa and find out just how awesome the Wiimote can be (That was the game that sold my Wii to me BTW, I adore the damn thing.. and so do all my friends).

Virtual console is a bit of a gimmick sure, but it's easy access to older classics. It's not ground breaking but it's a nice little extra if you have some spare cash and want Mario on hand at all times.

Also some games won't be using the Wiimote. The new Smash brothers will use the Game cube controller as it fits playing better. Remember the Wii has 4 current controllers. The Wiimote, the nunchuk (plugs into the Wiimote, works as a joysticks, 2 extra buttons but will sense motion in directions too :) ), the classic controller (a normal old school joypad) and a Gamecube pad (just classic old cube, plugs in the top as do the memory cards).

But in short. Wiis are a lot of fun, but they take a week to get used to. But once you do you start to see the merits of the machine (and it's weaknesses. Like in Zelda smashing pots is just plain annoying with all the Wiimote moving).

Either way I say give it a whirl. If you can find one they are worth having around, if only to mess around with Miis. :)

P.S. You're going to get gang raped by the MS and Sony fanboys any minute now. They will tell you the Wii sucks and has bad graphics, even though Zelda is pretty much perfect graphically (it has it's own style not realism).

Plus hey who doesn't like REALLY gay men telling you to grab hold of a cock (erm.. chicken) any colour you like and jump off a really tall ledge?

Oh and they made chickens playable in Zelda :169:

I don't think the word "gang raped" is the correct word to use. A better word to use would be "whined at", because those PS360 Whatever snobs are worth as much attention as a 5 year old at a Tesco's crying because his mom won't let him have any sweets.

Plus I'm not interested in the PS360/XBollox or whatever it's called. Really, these snobs have as much life as a McDonalds fanboy screaming and shouting at some dude standing outside a Burger King eating one of their burgers.

The Smash Brothers game will use the GameCube controller? What a surprise, and a bit of a disappointment too, I thought Nintendo were surposed to be changing the way we play. Oh well, as loing as the game's good.

Ah you see that's the misconception held by people. Nintendo wants to add new ways to play games, to shake things up. Yet they still want to do things right, so making Smash brothers on the Wiimote would just ruin the game mechanics and spoil the nature of the game. So instead they went "That's fine, but the cube pad is better, we're going to stick with it".

Nintendo know how to make a good game and bring the most out of a system. They won't use gimmicks just for the sake of gimmicks, least of all in their biggest title this generation.

Honestly, if your parents can afford it, the 360 right now is the best buy. A Wii is a secondary system that is a must have tho. The DBZ game for it is about some of the most fun I've ever had with a fighting game.

In the near future the connectivity it's going to have with the DS is going to be a dream.

If it's an option, get the 360 first. If a 360's not an option right now, get a Wii and then ask for a 360 for Christmas after the projected price drop.

Oh wait, you have a choice?! The Wii is good in all but I'm sure you'd want something more kick-ass.

Well then, get the 360 of course the 360 pwns with the hardcore **** man. My cousin got one of them 360's it's awsomeness make sure you just get the right games.
