Shoe Collection

Most recent purchase

Racing shoes are pretty much the most expensive shoes I own.

I like my chucks, I have a pair passed down from my uncle that are from the 70's and are still wearable.

I don't buy shoes that often.

I mostly wear my Feiyues (Chinese all-purpose sneaker popular for being worn by monks at Shaolin temple); they're perfect for all types of wear since they're minimalist, only come in basic colors, and have a vintage appeal to them. I love them, I wear them everywhere; on the street, in more formal situations, I even work out in 'em. In terms of martial arts/fitness/activity/shitkicking footwear they're probably the best I've ever seen. The upper is soft, durable canvas, nothing fancy, and the soles are thick, soft, unfinished rubber that has a lot of give to it and thus is very lightweight and extremely flexible (how many shoes do you have that you can fold in half... both ways?), with incredible traction. I always wear them for martial arts practice, weightlifting, and parkour, but I've done everything from rock climbing and caving to sprinting and acrobatics in them and they're always comfortable, snug, and stay out of the way. Oh yeah, and you can get them for like $15. Good stuff. Get a pair.

Other than Feiyues, these are my main street shoes. Really nifty. I wear slip-on moccasins a lot, since I think they look bitchin' and also because Indians are badass. I've also got a pair of slip loafers which are cool when I don't want to look quite so much like a slob ass. Some of my other **** includes some vintage Chucks, plaid Vans slips, and kung fu slippers. I think I have a pair of Sambas around here from like 8th grade, too.

So yeah, I like shoes.

Know any online sites where I can score a pair?

Yeah man, head on over to MartialArtsMart for the best deals (I get all my martial arts equipment there, highly recommend them). They just started carrying hi-tops too, which are great, but they'll cost you like twelve extra bucks. Still cheaper than your average pair of shoes though, and way better.
