Princess of Equesteria
While preparations for her granddaughter’s surprise party went underway Tomo excused himself for the moment to check on Yukiko. Even if she was now rightfully the head of the clan now to him would always be his little girl and such worried when needed not to be. Folding his arms Tomo proceeded to walk down the outside long pathway thinking quietly. It seem only like yesterday he had came home from the hospital with the newborn child. Having lost both her parents the elderly man sought to keep the promise made to his daughter-in-law that Yukiko had a normal life. A normal life was not exactly he could entirely fulfill with the clans at war and Yukiko’s mixed blood. This was meant to be a happy occasion not dwelling on the what-not and what-ifs right now shaking his mind clear of all thoughts save for the present.
Tomo soon came in front of the double closed doors of Yukiko’s bedroom checking his wristwatch. It was not too uncommon for Yukiko to stay in bed a little longer when they had no students or matters she must attend too. He had only found that it was rather unhealthy for Yukiko to be sleeping for this long. Before he could even lift his hand to knock on the wooden frame until one of the Kuroko inside the room open the door for him. Much to his surprise the head clan was not still in bed, but at her desk working on something instead.
“Good afternoon Sofu†Yukiko spoke dipping the fude back into suzuri, “Is there something that I can help you with?†In this form of calligraphy one must pay full attention for a simple misplace stroke of the kanji writing could alter its intentional meaning. When she was pleased with the final product brought the fude down to the right corner of the paper.
“I was wondering if you would like to come out of your room now and enjoy this beautiful day with your grandmother, while I attend to few matters here.†Tomo replied keeping his true motive hidden. “It is such a nice day that she'd thought like to visit the city. Maybe see a movie? Or stop by that new soba shop later this afternoon.†This had caught Yukiko’s attention greatly for if there is one thing she enjoyed the most was a good soba shop. As instantly he had mentioned it her look shifted into a more questionable one. “Without the Kuroko†he added in defense.
“Hmmm…Sure.†Yukiko nodded her head in acknowledgement, “That sounds like fun….oh no…†In her haste the young woman accidentally caught the sleeve of her kimono into the suzuri spilling the black ink across the finished painting. Her crimson eyes sullen and sighed heavily “….A bad omen†she muttered quietly. Whenever something like that occurred Yukiko could only decipher today that something was about to happen. What exactly was unknown.. While Yukiko was left to her fault the Kuroko went about cleaning up the spill.
