After muddling around Ebay and buying one off there to find out it was the Bandai Asia version, I'm wondering where I can actually buy the original Shodophone.

Frankly just stick with your Bandai Asia Version cause it's the best you are gonna get unless you get lucky. Be happy you have one cause there are folks still out there looking for one and or just not willing to pay the price that is being offered.
Unless you really care about the sounds, the Asian version is fine. You'll be hard pressed to find a Japanese one for a decent price, they're extremely sought after and until the Asian versions were released, were near impossible to find at all. The way I see it, this is just a second chance to get one
I actually have one. I don't mind selling it, but it's kind of beat up. It doesn't click securely when you open up the phone. I wouldn't selling it at a reasonable price.
