You know, I am pretty sure Mako can't marry Takeru without destroying the Shiraishi clan. I would be pretty surprised if a samurai show of all things allowed that sort of lapse of internal logic for the sake of indulging a Western Main Dude x Main Girl shipping dynamic.

It will though, because next episode's preview shows that it's setting them up! And Takeru x Mako is popular with Japanese fans, so they'll go with that. For all we know Mako could have cousins who still carry the Shiraishi name and whose child could be the next Pink.

EDIT: Wait, actually... Mako could logically marry Genta. His power is bizarre crazy self-taught stuff and he has no obligation to create a Shinken Gold heir. I would think anyone else, but especially Takeru, would be off-limits as a potential Shiraishi husband. (And why the hell would anyone marry Genta as opposed to a not-crazy person?)

I'm sure he has plenty of inner beauty :laugh: One of the Rangercrew regulars ships him with Kotoha, but - yeah, can't see it.

I'm not sure Japanese clan inheritance actually works like that... fair point, though. I also suppose you could justify Red x Pink by having them ultra-super defeat the Gedoushuu forever so there will be no more need for Shinkengers ever again hooray!!

That said, I hope the show's endgame isn't all eaten up with shipping. Super Sentai romance tends to be deadly dull because it has to be written at a level children can understand. I sort of liked the episode that flirted with Kotoha and Takeru but frankly liked that ep much better when the fighting started.

I have seen a little Takeru x Genta, but something about Ryuunosuke says "draw me pantsless in compromising positions!" to Japanese fanartists. (That I've seen, anyway).
