Either you're on some good stuff, or you must not have read the Japanese NPD sales figures since launch...
the DS and Wii manage to outsell both those consoles on Average.
Only breaks are when huge titles appeal.

Here's the charts directly after that article for Wii, 360, and PS3.

And the DS/PSP numbers in the same period.

Sure the numbers spiked, but only while people needed Advent Children Complete, then they dropped back to their old level. It wasn't Sony finally turning things around. Happened for the 360 too. As Shinmei said, only when there are large titles, not found on the Wii or DS.

Trust me, Nintendo has pretty much every market locked up.

I'd say "Shia Labeouf is an amateur(ish) actor," but that would insult amateur actors.
