Panel Downtime
Posted (April 4th, 2009 at 7:28 pm PST) by micah
Our central database went down about half an hour ago causing the panel to be inaccessible for a short while.
The database is back up now and I’ve restarted the panel webservers. Everything should be back to normal but if you’re still experiencing issues pleast contact technical support.

Network issues
Posted (April 3rd, 2009 at 5:49 pm PST) by Terri
We are currently experiencing networking issues. This is affecting some machines, as well as mysql services and oneclick installs. We are troubleshooting the issue and will fix it as soon as possible. We apologise for the inconvenience.
Update: Thankfully the network issue was resolved in a short period of time. There was a misconfiguration in our core router, and our network administrators patched it up.

Backup Redux!
Posted (April 1st, 2009 at 3:02 pm PST) by micah
While we’re still in the process of restoring everything and getting the data moved off of the suspect RAID arrays, we think we might have recovered almost all of the backup data we previously thought that we would not be able to recover as seen here:
http://www.dreamhoststatus.com/2009/03/07/backup-server-problems/
We are in the process of copying the data off of the degraded array so we may be unable to recover some files, but getting the array back online gives us the hope to recover a large amount of the data. We will not be copying the data over any backups you have restored. We will be providing instructions on how to get your previous data via email. Thanks go to our hard working NOC employee Sandon for sticking with this issue and getting us to a point where we can recover this data.
We sincerely apologize for the problems this backup service crash caused you. Our current ETA for the restore is still going to take about a week or two since this is several TB of data.
