"Serenity: Collector's Edition" Coming August 21st, 2007

Double dipping on Serenity, totally worth it IMO. And I thought they did away with the Spike movie, probably wrong though (hope so...).

But no news on a real season 2 of Firefly, just mostly some rumors about some On Demand thing where they are petitioning to get a season 2 On Demand for a certain fee...I don't know, its hearsay.
Yeah, that was the last I heard about that too.

Yea, its been in the works for years now.
No idea when they are actually going to begin filming, or even if they have a finalized script unfortunately.

There will not be a Spike movie. That project is as dead as JM's career.

Nobody is going to give Joss the funding to make that bomb in the afterwake of Fireflop the film.

If you wanna rant, so will I.

Caleb was pretty stupid actually.

So much potential, so poorly written. Much like the rest of the verse since BtVS S4 onward.

"Oh I'm the evil preacher that mysteriously killed the ENTIRE Watcher's council, although that's never explained how the hell that happened..."

The Mayor remains by far the best baddie.

Did someone **** in your cornflakes? Nothing but negativity from you in those thread...

Marsters career isn't dead. he just chooses to do other things currently, Like music.

That's one of the more annoying things about Joss. He doesn't understand or comprehend how the military or those who are familiar with firearms ie Police, actually WORK in a semi-realistic fashion. Hence you get idiotic things like Mal grabbing a gun that is in no way believeable as a futuristic firearm

Hello? Futuristic? and might I had fictional. Your supposed to use your imagination. If you didn't Buffy/Angel/and Firefly wouldn't be worth watching...actually alot of stuff wouldn't.......

BTW-best villain IMO = Faith and Angelus they did alot of damage mentally and physically and that makes a good villain. :buttrock:

I may actually wait on getting this until I've figured out whether I'm getting a Blu-Ray or an HD-DVD player, because I will most certainly want this puppy in high-def.

As for the future of the Whedonverse, well, I certainly can't deny that Serenity didn't do as well in the theaters as it really should have, because it completely kicked ass. I'd love to see more of Whedon's work on screen, big or small, because successful or no, it's still better than 99.9% of what's out there right now.

I will admit that the last couple of seasons of Buffy were a disappointment to me-- season 6 was my least favorite, and season 7 was like a study in unrealized potential-- but it seemed that they were suffering because Whedon's attention was on Firefly and Angel, both of which just got better and better right before the axe.

I just hope Battlestar Galactica's final season is as good as Angel's deceptively awesome last season was.

It's not that JABRonie doesn't have a point mired in all his negativity, but yeah, lighten up, dude. And this is coming from *me.* Mister Cranky.

Joss did when he put Marti in charge and then proceeded to let her wreak havoc with the series.

That means its dead. He's an actor and for years was known as a marginal one going by this resume before Buffy. The fact that he's trying out a music career means, his acting choices aren't there.

Then of course you actually listen to JM sing and *shudder*. I bet he had help in post for OMWF.

He tried to marry Sci-Fi and Western which NO ONE yet has done successfully. The only project I can remember that pulled it off was Outworld I think.

Having Mal pull out an old fashioned rifle, okay it works in that sense its a Western setting but I don't think they seriously considered all what is needed to make such a fusion of genres work.

EH.... not really. Faith, they 'redeemed' rather then taking her to her logical end and having the character killed off. Ditto with Angelus who really wasn't even that scary. His success was largely because Buffy wouldn't kill him not because he was an effective villian.

The Mayor though, he was the first real villian that completely outmatched and overpowered the Scoobies and he viewed them as little more then Speed bumps. That amongst many things is why he, I consider the best villian in any of the series. He was compentent, he was powerful, and he was evil to the core and took great delight in it. ("Please watch the swearing").

Actually Marsters has been dabbling in the music biz for awhile, its just because of his fame from BtVS that anyone heard about it and it so happens that his solo album release coincided with a major con event he was attending. And FYI hes has several guest spots on Smallville, and has a motion picture in the works for release later this year.

Well I am sorry that it wasn't up to your standards but Thousands Browncoats thought it was just fine.

If you had actually watched the series you'd know that Faith, in fact, didn't die and Buffy did "kill" Angel.

Angelus and Faith were great villains not because of their devious plans, but the way the played the other characters. Each of them took it to the next level where as the Mayor could not, he never had an emotional ties with any of the Scoobies therefore couldn't have the same effect on them as Faith and Angelus. But thats all IMO as I stated before.

("Please watch the swearing")

Cause that word is so terrible that we dont hear it on the tv or radio ever...

I thought he was on Smallville as Professor Milton Fine/Brainiac?.

Personally I'd love to see JM and Nathan Fillion do a show together, can you imagine how kick ass that would be?.

As for Angel, I've seen him on the few episodes of Bones and I thought he was pretty cool for finally not being a Vampire with a soul. I might just check out more of Bones.
