Seijuu Sentai Gingaman Talk Up [Spoilers!]

So, aside from never really seeing but a few episodes at random times, I was never that big of a fan of the series and I just hated the suits. Recently though, I've started watching it from the start and have been loving it. The rangers themselves are all pretty cool...except for Saya, something about her that I just don't like. The villains are all pretty lively and good to watch, overall it's a really entertaining series to watch so far. And oddly, I'm even liking Bokku.

I have the first 5 DVDs, and am loving this series, which is weird, because Lost Galaxy, which is almost exactly the same, just leaves me cold.

 

[Shougo B'Stard]

I don't know why, but I've really grown to like Gingaman over the years since it aired. I thought the villains were a creative mix, I liked the idea of the Seijuu, and I liked the heroes, even if they could have been a tad more diverse. And then there's the awesome Toshihiko Sahashi music.

I didn't realize it at the time, but when rewatching some Gingaman recently, I noticed how it tried to be fairly retro. From the "man" in their name, to the illustrated eyecatches, to hauling Masato Shimon out of retirement for the themes to the villains' voice actors...I wonder if there was a reason for that.

Gingaman is one of my favourites. You have pointed something important, Shougo, the evident retro air. I'm sure that's what made it so memorable.
And Captain Zahab is my all time favourite villain!

 

[Forever Knight]

Gingaman is a very underated series in my opinion.

I thought the music, action, and storyline involving Ryouma/Hyuuga was awesome.

The best scene is in the 40's when Ryouma & Hyuuga are standing at a mounain top and have fire coming out of their hands while some killer dramatic music plays. Very very awesome.

I always wanted to watch ever since I downloaded its OP. Pretty cool series.

It's not really surprising that Captain Zahab is your all time favorite villain for you are the Pirate of the Galaxy.

A few years ago, Kei Mizutani [Shelinda] was at the San Diego Comic-Con, and I got a couple signatures from her on some Gingaman books -- she was totally amazed that anyone there knew she did the series at all, let alone know what Gingaman was! [yes she remembered me the second time around :thumbs: ]

Another reason why I wished I could have taken Japanese in high school...

Sad to say it, but I've only ever seen the first episode and thought it was really good, so I have no idea if the rest of it ruled or sucked. Yes I even liked the talking acorn. Can't believe it's been 10 years...

Just based on the one episode, I had the impression Kei enjoyed her role and had a lot of fun with it, with that naughty smile she had as she poked the barrel guy in the ass with her sword to wake him up.

And Zeihab had the most whacked-out costume to ever walk on two legs! Anyone who can split the earth wide open then pull it back shut again with only a hook and chain is one badass dude! :buttrock: And yes I got the Lost Galaxy figure of him [forget what they called him; the Evil Space Pirate?], long before he appeared on the series!

I think it's about time I started downloading some episodes...

Zahab's name in Lost Galaxy was Captain Mutiny.

Shelinda was awesome. Her own personal BGM theme was a string quartet, and it sounded badass.
