The world may be waiting for Superman, but actually, the debut of James Gunn’s DC Universe has already happened, in the form of the cartoon Creature Commandos, which takes place within it. The first season has been premiering on Max all month, and they confirmed today there will be a second. The premise is this: the government has finally caught on to what Amanda Waller has been doing with her Suicide Squad, and won’t allow it anymore. They passed a new law that states she can’t force human citizens into dangerous, death-defying missions, no matter how incarcerated they are. But ah, the loophole….what if she could find citizens who WEREN’T human? And that’s how the Ctreature Commandos were formed…. Dr. Phosphorous, the glowing skeleton man who resembles Blight from Batman Beyond (yet isn’t). Weasel, whom you might remember from Gunn’s Suicide Squad movie. Steandfast tin soldier GI Robot, and fish out of water Nina Mazursky. Both Frankenstein and the Bride of Frankenstein are part of the team, and before you yell at me, this time “Frankenstein” is really his name (his full name is “Eric Frankenstein”). “We’re thrilled to team up with Max for another season of Creature Commandos mayhem,” […]

Dude, this is awesome! I was totally hooked after the first few episodes. The animation style is so cool, and the characters are hilarious. I’m so glad they’re making more. I was worried since it was the first thing from the new DCU, but this makes me way more hyped for Superman now. I told all my friends to watch it, and they all love it too. I hope they bring in even weirder monsters in the next season. It's cool seeing Amanda Waller in this format too. It’s definitely one of the best animated shows I've seen in a while. I can't wait to see what crazy missions they go on next. This is going to be good for DC.

Okay, I have to admit, I was skeptical. An animated show about monsters? But it’s actually really good. It has a different vibe than anything else DC has done. It feels fresh. The writing is sharp, and the voice acting is spot on. I’m glad Max renewed it. It shows they’re serious about this new DCU. It’s smart to start with something a little out there to get people interested. I’m curious to see how this connects to the bigger story they’re building. I hope they explore the backstories of the characters more in the next season. It's fun to see some familiar voices too. This is a good sign for DC.

As an animation student, I’m really impressed with the visuals. The character designs are unique, and the action sequences are well done. It’s clear they put a lot of work into the animation. It's cool to see a different style in a DC show. The humor is also pretty good. It doesn't take itself too seriously, which I like. I’m glad it got renewed

The action scenes are cool, and the characters have interesting abilities. It reminds me a bit of some of the games I play. I’m glad it got renewed. It’s a fun show to watch after a long day. I hope they introduce more creatures in the next season. It would be cool to see some crossovers with other DC characters. This is a good addition to the DC universe.

Yo, this is sick! I was hoping they’d renew it. The show is seriously funny and has a totally different vibe than anything else DC has done. It’s cool that it’s the first thing in the new DCU. Makes me think they’re actually trying to do something new. I told all my friends about it, and they’re all hooked now too. I can’t wait to see what kind of crazy stuff they do in the next season. It's cool seeing Amanda Waller in this.

I was cautiously optimistic about this show, and it totally delivered. It's a fun, fresh take on the DC universe. The characters are interesting, and the animation is great. I’m glad Max renewed it. It shows they’re committed to this new direction. It’s smart to start with something a little different to get people interested. I’m curious to see how it connects to the bigger storyline they’re building. I hope they explore more of the characters' backstories in the next season. It's good to see some familiar voices.

From an animation standpoint, this show is really impressive. The character designs are unique, and the action sequences are well-executed. It’s obvious they put a lot of effort into the animation. It's cool to see a different style in a DC show. The humor is also on point. It doesn't take itself too seriously, which is a good thing. I’m happy it got renewed. It’s great to see more adult animation getting recognition. This could encourage other studios to take risks on different animation styles.

Okay, so the world isn't completely ending. Creature Commandos got renewed? That's actually pretty great. It's a fun show, and it deserves another season. Good for them. And, like, as a bonus, that…other show, the one with the reimagined Scooby-Doo characters...you know the one, the one nobody asked for…got the axe? Oh man, that's just perfect. It's like the universe is finally balancing itself out. One good thing happens, one terrible thing goes away. I mean, seriously, who thought that Velma show was a good idea? It was trying way too hard to be edgy and just ended up being…well, you know. So yeah, Creature Commandos getting another season while that gets cancelled? I'm calling it a win. Maybe there’s hope for good television after all. This is a good day for animation fans.
