If not by direct sunlight, then it's whatever kind of fancy lighting the store is using. You can clearly see around the arms and feet where the metallic blue paint is stripping away.

Plus it makes no sense for a new version to come with exactly the same stand as the old one, down to being the same shade of blue for a new silver repaint? :disappoin Figure variants always come with different stands.
 
Yeah, sorry dude, not buying it. There is no way lighting could do something like that to the colors.
 
Well wouldn't this have affected some of the other figures as well?

They presumably haven't been on display for as long. Knight Survive is the oldest figure we can see on their display.

I assume it's to do with the type of metallic paint they used on those Survive guys.

I agree it's strange, but what's the alternative? This random Japanese shop has a special version of a figure on display that's never been announced or hinted at, has exactly the same accessories and colour of stand as the old one and for some reason, clearly has metallic blue paint stripping off him?
 
Another option people might not want to consider. They customized it.


Don't put it pass some shop owners to customize a figure and try to sell it.
 
Yeah, the paint apps look too clean for it to be UV Damage…how long does something need to sit out before being worn out by the sun anyway?

I think the display is bottom lit and its casting a reflection frombthe stand on the legs. It could be custom though.
