Ryuki's Ending.... Spoilers, DUH... :D

So what Kenzaki was doing is to find a sacrifice to offer to the mirror world to spare Yui. So its not a question of time, Its that he can't skip the fact that she must be 20 one day. So in the end Yui accepted the fact that she will die and spared all the riders' lives.

I always thought something similar to that would make the ending more acceptable, but that's clearly not what happened. If so, Knight/Ren would have died and Yui would have lived. But instead, Ren was given his wish and Kanzaki was just going to do the whole war over before Yui talked him into ending it, so I think that scenario's out.

Earlier in the series, it definitely seemed to me that Kanzaki was using the Rider war to find the life force most superior, which he would either use to save himself or Yui.

I'm one of those who understood the ending, so now i'm very curious about the manga. I've never heard of it before, so would anyone know how it differs from the rest? ^^

truth be told I never clued in that they went back in time and both died as kids :S what with all that coloring they did both as adults and as kids sitting togeather :S Also you guys are taking stuff that never happened in the tv series & only happened in the movies as well! So if its in the movies can you really use it for the series?..



also is it just me or half way into the series did they give up on the entire , eating monster energy makes my atvar stronger bit?.. One would think that they could have just taken all the monster energy and use that to save the lives :S

At first, I thought the contract monsters would upgrade overtime. something like pokemon. Sadly that didn't happened.

hey I just watched ... ryukie vs agito... & they had mayko on it ( evil purple guy with the 3 atvars) & he did this odd chin thing... almost just like Kintaros from deno does... are they the same suit actors?.. :S

See my impression was that Kenzaki accepting Yui's desire not to be saved or perhaps giving Yui the ability to convince Kenzaki to stop or maybe both WAS Ren's wish. Because doing that would basically save everyone including the girl he was originally fighting for. Ren realized that Shinji was right, this war shouldn't have been happening at all. But he took it the extra step and used his wish to obliterate the whole damn thing.

That's the ending that would have made sense, as it shows tremendous growth on Ren's part, but I feel it's definitely not what the show itself suggests.

What's stupid about everything being undone is that it not only erases any character growth, but their outcome is still awful since a lot of the characters' damages weren't even influenced by the mirror world or the battle: Shinji, who matured and became a hero, is back to being a nuisance and a childish stooge that everyone hates. Ren, who became a more caring person, is back to being a thoughtless and heartless thug.

There's not much of a way around that, of course, but it would have really helped for Ren to have made the choice for the mirror world to not exist or whatever, but at least retain the memory of the war once it was undone. At least one crucial character's development wouldn't have been wasted, plus you could have the idea that he went on to "reintroduce" himself to the others and try to save them. There would have been a bit of hope in the finale if Ren, having undone everything, bump into Shinji (who will no longer know him) and give a smile of recognition. It would give the audience hope that maybe Ren will reintroduce himself to Shinji, and help him grow as much as Shinji had helped him previously.

*sigh* Why can't Yasuko Kobayashi just let go of the time-travel crap already?
