Rurouni Kenshin

Woah. One word: Awesome. I just finished reading the manga series from mangaspot. ****. This is one of the top 10 in my list of favourite manga. Really great storylines. Lovable protagonists. Truly evil villians. Profound themes. And of course, no one can ignore the fighting scenes. Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu Ougi - Amakakeru Ryu no Hirameki! :buttrock:

Anyone seen the anime for this? Does the storyline follow the manga closely, like how DBZ followed its manga version faithfully?

DBZ followed its manga faithfully? Anyways, whatever. I won't bother asking how you saw the manga before you saw the anime. Here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rurouni_Kenshin

After Shishio arc the TV series goes into a bunch of non-manga filler. The second OVA series goes into Enishi but only slightly and then does its own kind of ending. It's pretty odd.

I remember seeing the anime 7-8 years ago. Great stuff. My friend just got the recent PS2 game, it's amazing (not the best game in the world but it does its job).

The anime up to the shishio arc is very good but sadly its all downhill from there.

Yes it certainly did. The manga had an even better arc than the Kyoto Taisen arc in the story of how he got his scars (and it's not that crap the OVA did. The manga version is much better).

The anime entertained me for a while but didn't manage to hold my interest. I did like some of the OVA's though.

I despise the OVA without ever having seen it. I wish the third arc of the manga had been made into the anime instead of the filler arc.

Not all the filler was bad, the Christian arc was actually pretty good.

Anywho, I've got the entire manga series, it's currently(and probably will be for some time) the longest series that I have. It's my favorite manga and the anime was awesome until the fillers started. I wasn't a fan of the OVA ending, it just didn't seem to fit all that well with the story. I liked the manga's upbeat ending a lot better.
