RP Character Creation and Preview Thread

So…I’m a writer of both original and fan fiction works who dabbles more then anything in full stories and one shots. Basically my rate of completing works is about as low as sea cucumber’s I.Q. Hmmm…then again…

Anyway, so in an effort to force myself to write something other then the four or five current projects I have going (plus a metric **** ton of RP content to complete) I am going to try a little experiment with all my RP fellows.

So this thread isn’t just your typical “make a character for an RP threadâ€, but a place for us to just present scenarios and make characters for fun. You can post your own ideas and have people post characters for it, or create characters for concepts already presented. Who knows, this might even be a good place to set up ideas to see if there is enough interest for a full fledged RP. I’ll also be using this to throw down concepts for stories I would like to write and, if you are willing, I might try to write in your characters or write a story for you, or work with you. The same could be said for everyone else as well who wants to post up ideas for stories or fictions.

Now for something like this there are a lot of rules that need apply, so I shall apply them.

1: Act like adults, whether you are or aren’t. This means respecting one another’s ideas and not spending two pages telling someone why their idea sucks. No flaming or trolling…we don’t have room for it. So basically show respect to one another.

2: No Carbon copies of already existing ideas. Don’t copy one person’s concept only to change two or three ideas in a vein attempt to make it your own. It may not be plagiarism legally…but the community will “whoop†you in a sense. It shouldn’t be a problem…but just in case.

3: Use hide tags for pictures and super long posts. This will save us a lot of room and give people less to load all at once.

4: Keep Chit Chat to a minimum. I’m not saying you shouldn’t voice your opinions, but we can create a talk thread for that. This is more to keep characters compact and create ease of reading for everyone. This isn’t as much a discussion thread as it is an idea presentation thread mixed with Character creation practice for fun.

5: If you are a writer and want to include a presented character in a story, GET PERMISSION FIRST! People can be very defensive about their characters ya know.

6: No Take Backs or Complaints. If you give permission for a person to use a character or idea you have made then you are also giving them creative control. This means they can alter the character or idea as they see fit. Don’t come crying to me or the admins if this happens. It’s on you.

7: This goes without saying but once you’ve posted an idea there is always the chance of it being used by someone else. The internet is not nice, so if you want to keep an idea for yourself and don’t want it stolen or used by another person…well then you shouldn’t post it in any format without some kind of copy right. Rarely a problem with our community here, but I’m just covering bases.

Anyway to get us started here is a character template that you can use if you want. Clearly you can use whatever template you want to, but this is just in case you need some incentive. I’ll be posting an original concept and idea later so until then just post or create whatever characters you feel like posting or creating. You don’t even have to post more then the bare minimum of your character’s world, just the character itself. Anyway have fun and who knows, this might be a fun time waiting to happen.

I've been meaning to make a thread like this. Unfortunately i'm far to easily distracted by shiny objects to do it myself . Anyhow to get this party started I'm gonna share a few ideas That I'm not personally able to use for various reasons

Kamen rider vs Shaman King

Using the shaman fight tournament as the bases the reserected warriors the shaman use to battle one another would be Riders. I never used the idea cause I haven't seen enough of shaman king to really do it justice.

Super sentai robot wars.

No rangers here. Only their Mechs/Zords piloted by player characters like the super robot taisen games. Unfortunately I've never gotten the chance to finish a game from that franchise sooo....

Well...Recently, an odd idea has popped up in my head.

Essentially, The backdrop is the end of the latest Keyblade War, and Sora and his friends serve as mentors to a new generation of Keyblade users. Essentially, the Keyblade users, which will be characters we'll come up with ourselves, will travel to various worlds to battle the Heartless, and grow as warriors.

Now...I'm not sure if I will actually execute this, coz of reasons such as me wanting to take things easy by staying in the background, and there might be a few details that elude me for now that might actually make this idea more feasible.

In any case, I keep imagining of a large room where Sora, Riku, and Kairi wear sand-colored tunics and mocha-colored cloaks while addressing the keyblade users. LOL XD

Onimusha: Fang’s Edge.

500 years ago, during Japan’s warring states era, the demon clan known as Genma rose up from the earth to conquer humanity. To this end they chose a human named Oda Nobunaga to become their face in the world of men so that they could enslave humanity mostly unnoticed. However, brave warriors stepped forward to oppose the demons, and after several decades these brave men and women were able to quill the man eating monsters. Many of these heroes were supported from the shadows by the ancient enemies of the Genma, the Oni Clan, who provided them with weapons, technology, and magic power. Though the Oni themselves had been defeated by the Genma long ago, their spirits lived on through their chosen warriors, and all humanity. With the Genma Lords all destroyed, the filthy beasts returned to the world bellow the surface to writhe in the darkness forever more. Thus humanity was able to grow and prosper; eventually creating marvels that would put even the Oni to shame. It seemed the forgotten age when man nearly became slaves to demons was but a dark memory.

Then they rose once more from their world bellow to claim vengeance against the ones they hated the most. During their 500 year exile, three new Genma Lords had been born and had worked tirelessly to prepare their species for invasion. With new technologies and sorceries, the demons were able to lock much of Kyoto prefecture inside of a huge dome of dimensional energy. With demons now flooding the land and showing no mercy to the populace, new warriors have been chosen to wield the oni power and charged with defeating the new, Genma threat. To this end the new generation of Onimusha must fight back the demon hoard, discover their plans, and prevent the rest of the world from falling into their hands. Millions of lives, and perhaps the fate of all humanity, lie in the hands of these few men and women.

For those of you who know about the Onimusha series, you know what it in tells. For those of you who don’t know, youtube and various wikis can provide sufficient information. Basically, heroes kill demons, heroes absorb demon’s souls, heroes get stronger while fighting to survive, heroes get magic weapons that need enhancing, and heroes fight bosses and save the world. Rinse and Repeat. This story would only have three players, not including myself, and each would control one of the main characters and maybe some NPC characters or a bad guy. You would have freedom with your characters back story but there are three types of powers to choose from, but only one character of each is allowed.

One character would be a normal enough person who was caught in the thick of the invasion. As they fight to survive they would be visited by the spirit of a past Onimusha (A human warrior with Oni powers) who would give them an Oni Gauntlet. The Gauntlet fuses with the wearer’s arm and grants them the ability to absorb the souls of defeated genma for various effects. The gauntlet wearer would find Dragon orbs along the way that, once absorbed by the oni gauntlet, would allow the user to manifest a living weapon of the Oni. Many weapons are obtainable and all have elemental properties, but must be feed red souls to evolve into their full forms The gauntlet and its user would gain other powers along the way, but these are the main ones.

Character two would be a descendant of the Yagyu clan and would not only possess sword training and knowledge of the Genma/Oni wars, but also an Oni Blood line. This character will be able to see and absorb the souls of fallen genma right out of the bag. He or she would also have their own Oni weapons to earn which would be stored inside a seal on either hand, and earned by finding Dragon Shrines hidden all over Kyoto. These weapons also need to be matured over time through red souls, and may be fewer in number. Eventually this character’s Yagyu blood line will awaken another power, however, that will more then compensate.

Finally the third character would have been captured by the genma early on in the invasion and put under hideous experiments. A cocktail of genma blood and a synthetic Oni blood would be transfused into their bodies in an attempt to create a Genma with the powers of an Oni. While over twenty six other test subjects have died, number twenty seven, the player character, would survive through odd circumstance. Their body would have filtered out the genma blood and assimilated the Oni blood to become a Pseudo Oni. After breaking free the character would have the ability to absorb Genma Souls directly into themselves. Instead of earning weapons like the other two characters, this guy or gal would gain various new forms along the way as he devours more powerful Genma Souls. These forms can be provided by the player or by me, and the character can “Henshin” from a human form or be stuck in their Oni form all the time. This character is your typical henshin hero…just more visceral. The designs of Kazuma Kaneko come to mind.


The three warriors would start out apart but eventually be brought together by circumstance to defeat the three Genma Lords and their new King. The RP probably wouldn’t be extremely long, but various events could occur that would keep the story going for a while after the defeat of the Genma King. Anyway, if anyone is interested just let me know and we can see what can be done. I’ll provide pictures of the starter weapons and some other weapon options, but of course the players can also present weapons they would like their characters to get in story. The same goes for the various forms of the third character. Anyway, like I said, I’ll put up more info later. For now…I need sleep…
