Review: Trans Armour Kamen Rider Figures

Igadevil said:
According to a regular poll in Hyper Hobby Magazine, pretty much everybody agrees with you. :D

The top requested Souchaku-Henshin Figures are X-Rider, Skyrider, Riderman, Wild Chalice, Black, Ohga, Super-1, Shadow Moon, Another Agito, and Kamen Rider ZX. After that there's a few more Rider variant forms, some Space Sheriffs, and oddballs like Kikaida & Skyzel. Since some of the older fan requests are going to be a reality (Ryuga, Femme, Alternative Zero) there's hope.

Since they are releasing Gavan, they shoud do a villain 3-pack with Hunter Killer, Kiba, and San Daruba

Trans Armour Kamen Rider V3 Review

Since I have to leave for work soon, I was going to do this later tonight, but I'm rather excited, so I can't wait. Why? Because I now have all the Trans Armour classic riders ( unless you count some HK Rider 1 and 2 repaints)

This Review will cover the Souchaku Henshin toy of the classic Rider, V3

V3...HENSHIN!

Kamen Rider V3 was the Masked Rider that succeeded the original two Riders. While Rider Number 1 will probably always be my favorite, there is something so alluring about V3. He's an older Rider yes, but he always manages to catch your eye, and why is that? I personally think its because of his helmet. The original concept of Kamen Rider actually came when Shotaro Ishinomori was working on Skull Man. But Skull man was way too violent and gory to be adapted into a live action show for kids, so Ishinomori altered the concept of Skull man, sketching several different versions. Since the show was supposed to be for kids, he showed the sketches to his son, who picked the one Ishinomori had originally titled "Masked Rider Hopper King", which was very similar to Skull man, but had more of a grasshopper essence on the helmet. And thus, Kamen Rider was born. V3 has the same original feel, but is updated, and his helmet looks more like a grasshopper.

Design: V3 is right on the mark when it comes to design. I love Souchaku Henshins for keeping loyal to the original designs, and and for their vast amount of articulation.

Durability: V3 is about as durable as the other classic Riders. He's primarily made of die-cast, so he's a bit bulkier that the more recent figures...But he's also very shiny.....shiny........Er, anyway. The only thing I don't like aboutV3 is that his armour has to be put on in a specific order,or you'll never get it on. His helmet has to go on before his chest armour, because the collar on the back of his chest armour prevents you from putting the back half of his helmet on

Availability: Very Rare
Price: $24.99-???
Rating: 8/10. Very good figure, but putting on his armour was really irritating

Kamen Rider Faiz Review

Kamen Rider Faiz

fai5.jpg

Close-up

Kamen Rider Faiz is from the series 555, the series that directly succeeded Ryuki. Instead of using a Henshin Belt, the Riders punched the numbers "555" into their cell phones to transform, hence the title.

fai6.jpg

Holding Cell Phone Gun, and briefcase

Design: Faiz seems a bit bland when compared to his TV incarnation, I have to be honest. But that applies to most of the Souchaku Henshin 555 Riders, because their visors take up most of their helmet, and since their helmet visors are partially transparent, seeing the solid color on the visors is rather disappointing.

Durability: Like my other 555 figure, Faiz is very stiff when first opening, so I reccomend bending ALL of his joints before placing his armour on, for maximum articulation.

fai7.jpg

Faiz vs Ryuki...Let's see who wins, shall we?

fai8.jpg

Aw, what a pity

Availability: Surprisingly rare on eBay, but several american retailers have him
Price: $12.99 - $24.99
Rating: 6/10 Slightly above average. A fun toy, but he looks rather plain, compared to many of the other Souchaku Henshins available

"Post-" can also mean "Pre-" dude.....Also, Faiz would win against Ryuki no doubt about that. Takumi has guts, he has fighting spirits. Shinji would just be like "Let's not fight! Let's hold hands and be friends!" Takumi would just be like ".....beep beep. Exceed Charge."

Also, those other accessories are the Pointer and Shot before Faiz enters the mission chip inside them to activate them. They're the ones that clip on the belt. When he puts the chip in the pointer, it extends out. The handle on the shot swings down to hold it when the chip is put in it.

Er, no, it really can't...

BTW, it's only Faiz that enters 555 on his cellphone:

Kaixa: 913
Psyga: 315
Orga: 000
Delta: voice-activated

Personally, I *love* the Faiz SH figures. Probably my favorites out of the whole series.

Fightin', eh? Faiz > Ryuki. I'm honestly not sure who'd win in a Blaster Faiz vs. Ryuki Survive fight, though (assuming Ryuki had Draglancer on his side).

I see. My mistake. I hope Orga gets a Souchaku Henshin toy. He looks the coolest in my opinion

I apologize, my knowledge of 555 is very limited, though I intend to start watching the series

Kamen Rider Psyga Review

HENSHIN!

This review will cover the toy version of the 555 movie character, Psyga

Psy2.jpg

Kamen Rider Psyga

Psyga body
Chest Armour
Shoulder Armour

Cell Phone transformed
Henshin Belt Device
Jet Pack
Futuristic sticks of some sort (for beating the **** out of...somebody)

With Jetpack

Psyga is a brand new warrior of Smart Brain against Faiz, in the movie, "Paradise Lost", the Kamen Rider 555 movie. Also in the 555 movie, there was a movie only character called Orga. I cannot figure out why he was not released in this toy line, but Psyga was. Hopefully Orga will have a Souchaku Henshin incarnation soon.

Psy5.jpg

Packin' Heat

Design: I really like Psyga's armour. Even when comparing to Kamen Rider Armour, Psyga's is futuristic. The only thing I don't like is that his chest armour obstructs his helmet when trying to turn his head.

Durability: About as durable as any other Souchaku Henshins, but it seems all the "555" ones have VERY VERY stiff joints, so I reccomend giving all his bendable joints a good turn or two before putting on his armour

Psy6.jpg

Holding weapons

Availability: Not very rare. Can be found easily on eBay, even from an online retailer.

Price:$14.99-$22.99 depending on retailer

Rating:7/10.Above average. A very fun toy, but his weapons are a bit small for my liking. I prefer my Souchaku Henshin's with substantial weapoins, like Ryuki with his large sword, etc.
