Kamen Rider Exceed Gills is from the Agito series. Exceed Gills seems to me to be much like a form of a parasite, or even a virus of some kind. The exoskeletal limbs and armour leans more toward "insect" though. I must say, some of these recent Kamen Riders certainly do have a "sinister" looking aspect to them, and Exceed Gills is a perfect example of this. Now, technically, Exceed Gills doesn't have any weapons. His weapons are all extensions of his body, or at least his armour.

Displaying articulation

This toy is actually the first Hong Kong Souchaku Henshin toy I have purchased, and the first for me to review. And the differences are quite clear. There is some die-cast on the outer armour, but most of the figure is plastic, and most Trans Armours have more die-cast than this (except the Agito Kaijins, they're all plastic). The quality feels cheaper, but it still doesn't turn me off to the figure.

With exoskeletal limbs attatched

Design: Exceed Gills has a very nice design, albeit, not as detailed as some of the later riders, like from the Ryuki series.

Durability: Despite it being of cheaper quality, as it is a Hong Kong version, it's still fairly durable, it at least manages to suffice from what I've come to expect from a Trans Armour.

Knight desperately tries to fend off Exceed Gills' relentless assault

Price: $15.99-???
Availability: Older figure, rare, One currently on eBay.
Rating: 7/10, above average for being so unique. I honestly can't reccomend this unless you collect this series, though

Kamen Rider Ryuki seems to be alot like a ninja, in terms of his helmet. Ryuki is the main character of the Kamen Rider Ryuki series. In this series, each rider has a counterpart Monster to which they are bound to. Ryuki is bound to a red serpent-like dragon.

Holding Sabre

Design: Overall, Ryuki is a fantastic figure. He comes with two forms of weapons, and a shield to defend ( and even attack with if his foe comes too close). I really love how much detail went into this figure, even the insect-like eyes that glow faintly behind Ryuki's eyes.

Durability: Ryuki is durable and freakishly articulate. Double-jointed people would have trouble doing a pose that this figure can pull off. Like Kamen Rider Knight's bat head on his cape is poseable, so is Ryuki's dragon weapons. The mouth on the Dragon Head weapon can open and close, and the clawed legs on his shiels can move as well.

Ryuki Versus Knight

Price: $9.99- $14.99, depending on retailer
Availability: Fairly common. Even some US retailers have him
Rating: 9/10 A superb toy. Excellent to start with, even. A definite must for any Toku collection. Highly reccomended

Nice reviews!

I rather liked the Blade King Form myself, and a big part of it was that he's shiny.

Awesome Figures!!

By the way, is it hard to take the shoulder pads off the figures? Because I have a Kamen Rider Blade transarmor figure, and the shoulder pads seem to be like PERMANENTLY stuck on!!

Some of them are, Ryuki's for example, are stuck fast. But like, Gai's will fall off sometimes if I move his arms in the wrong pose (like up too high)

Side View

Kamen Rider Raia has a style of a samurai about him, via his ponytail on his helmet, and his sword, but , like most of the other Ryuki figures, his helmet itself seems to have a ninja essence to it.

I must say that Raia certainly has an interesting weapon, but I can't tell if it's a whip, or a sword. Raia, like the other Kamen Riders, is bound to a monster via contract. Raia's monster is a stinray, Evildiver. Recently, there has been a 3-pack of the Ryuki monsters that includes Evildiver, that Raia can ride on ( also comes with Imperer's and Gai's mirror monster).

Holding Weapon

Durability: The Ryuki figures are probably the most durable figures of the Souchaku Henshin line so far, second only to the current series, Hibiki. So if you're looking for a sturdy figure, Raia is a good choice

Design: His design is excellent, and very ellegant, but there are better choices in the Ryuki line, like Knight, or Ryuki.

Availability: Somewhat Rare, but not that hard to find
Price 12.99-22.99 depending on Retailer
Rating: 6/10 Average, good figure, but there are better choices, unless he's a favorite character

Another review coming later today

BONUS: Some places where you can get souchaku henshins

www.j1toy.com has some, including Raia for 12.99 each (hey, RiderFaiz, they have leangle there for 12.99 too! :anime: )

http://www.tisinc99.com - Has them. They cost more, but they have a much better selection as well.

www.toysnjoys.com has them. But from what I hear, their shipping speed is diplorable

Kamen Rider Leangle

This review will cover the Trans Armour figure Leangle, from the series, Blade.

lea3.jpg

Close-up

I am happy to say that Leangle isn't a disappointment like Blade King was. I was beginning to worry that all the Blade figures would be a disappointment, but Leangle proved me wrong.

lea4.jpg

Leangle holding his staff in it's untransformed state

lea5.jpg

Leangle with his staff

Durability: The armour and the figure are both very durable and can stand up to poses with the best of 'em. Top notch.

Design: Leangle has a good amount of detail in his armour and figure itself, and he's a very fun toy. I especially like the detail on his staff in it's transformed state

Against Exceed Gills

Availability: Not very rare. Can even be found at US online retailers
Price: $12.99- $24.99 depending on retailer
Rating: 8/10 A great all around Blade figure

Raia's one of my fave characters from Ryuki, he rules! Also, it is a whip he has. He's a really great character and I personally love the suit cos he has Copy Vent like Verde, in the series he copies Knight's Lance, Ryuki's sword and Ryuki's Strike Vent.
