Review: Trans Armour Kamen Rider Figures

What gives me the authority, well not really authority, but it's common sense and a general understanding of economics ( if that's even possible). You can't just release ONLY the red ones because fans will want other ones. Like, Big One from JakQ or Burai from Zyuranger. And let's just say, for example, they did release only the red ones. That means, if they did every sentai series, they'd have to release 30 figures. 30! That would take YEARS to accomplish. Because they're not going to just stop making Kamen Rider ones as new shows come out. That's not profitable, economical, and not even logical. The real thing is that they're really not going to release older characters. Kikaider, Hakaider, Metalder, Spielban, the chances of those being made are very small.

Because, even though they know they have adult fans, they are trying to sell to children. So, they make Souchaku Henshins of the newest shows. Now, I can't really explain WHY they randomly release older characters (like Gavan, KR Black). But I heard that there was a Space Sheriff Gavan manga going on in Japan a couple years back, and may still be releasing issues, and the Space Sheriff Spirits game for PS2 came out like last year ( as well as the Space Sheriff Souchaku Henshins), so I think they released those as a marketing thing. Kids play the game, they like it, they see the toys, they get their parents to buy them.

Kamen Rider Black and Shadow Moon, I just don't understand. They're great characters, but I don't know why they're being released. I'm sure there is some sort of marketing tie-in, but I don't know it, and I may never know it. I don't live in japan

I don't see why they couldn't release the sentai teams separately. The rider armour trans (since Kuuga) have come out with 5 or more armour trans figures for each rider show. So why not sentai. If you counted up all the armour trans figures I bet there is enough to cover half of the sentai teams They don't have to start with Goranger, they could start on one of the new shows.

I didn't post the sentai figures idea to start a fight or argument. I was just saying why not.

They've already got the SHS and various action figures for sentai characters. Besides, the sentai outfits are even less armor-oriented than some of the older KR series.

Exactly. I think Sentai Souchaku Henshins would be pretty boring compared to the Metal Hero and Kamen Rider ones. Not enough armor and such.

Well, Riders have the RHS series and various figures, so that doesn't mean anything.

Sentai would obviously have less armor, but they'd still be more interesting than Mirror Monsters. Mirror Monsters, WTF? Also less armor would be better because it wouldn't fall off as much as the new ones.

It doesn't need to be exactly like Armor Trans, maybe a spin-off series of it. It would still be nice for them to finish the metal heroes instead of releasing pointless characters like Glaive.

Well, I think the main reason is Sentai has their own toy line. Granted, they're not as good as Souchaku Henshin, but I don't think Bandai wants to take a chance and releasing a product that won't sell well. Granted, if they were to say, sell all the Gorangers and Jacker team as Souchaku Henshins, they would do really well with Sentai fans, but the thing is, would that be enough? Bandai really has to ask themselves if the profit will be worth it. It's not just profit, it has to be a very significant profit. Who knows, maybe with the release of Black and Shadowmoon, they're starting to take risks and will take more down the line

guess were not going to see RX anytime soon.:bawling:

That is not a Souchaku Henshin. It may be made by Bandai, but it is not Souchaku Henshin. There still may be hope. (That toy is entirely made of plastic. There is no die-cast metal on those WHATSOEVER)

I think there is a good chance of Black RX being released. Maybe not his two other "forms", but his first form anyway. Especially if the Black and Shadowmoon sell well. So if any of you want a Black RX, don't say "Oh, maybe I'll get KR Black if RX comes out". Because that's the way marketing works. They make decisions based on sales.

RX might not come out till the next year, but if sales are good, they would be foolish not to do RX

That came before the Souchaku Henshin Series, they were a precursor to Souchaku Henshin. Change Cloth is what they're called. They started with Saint Seiya and changed the name so it just aims at toku heroes.

It doesn't have to have die-cast parts to be called a armor trans. It's basically the same concept.

Close-up

Apparently, for some reason, either Toei or Shotaro Ishinomori didn't like the original color of Rider 1's outfit. So, during episode 13, which was actually like a movie version, they changed Hongo's costume to be a dark green with red eyes, as opposed to his blue-ish green armour with red-ish yellow eyes. Personally, I preferred the original color scheme. Apparently, this one is called "Sakurajima" version. And I have no idea why. Sakurajima is a volcano in Japan. Unless Rider 1 fell into a volcano in episode 13 and emerged with only a few color changes, then the name really is pointless.

Beside his "old self"

Rider Number 2 was introduced in episode 14, right after Rider 1's "change". Their costumes were identical in appearance, and were too close in terms of color, which is why Rider 2's belt is red, and his helmet is black with a silver mouthpiece. That was fine, there was enough difference to tell them apart. Then they became "New Riders" not long after. Their ONLY difference was Rider 1 had Silver gloves and boots, and Rider 2 had Red gloves and boots. I'm still not sure why Toei thought that was a good idea.

With Rider Number 2

Price: Currently, this will usually sell for over $30, not counting shipping
Availability: You have a better chance of having sex with someone that exists only in your dreams
Durability: Pretty good, though the legs joints are sometimes a bit loose with these older figures
Articulation: Not bad, but not the best either
Is it Worth it?: Well first, that would be going on the assumption that you can FIND one. Second, I have to say no if you already have a Rider #1. It's really hard to justify paying the cash that these guys go for now, considering every Rider #1 and Rider #2 and "Shocker Rider" is just a repaint of the same mold
Rating: 5/10. Just another repaint. Nothing too spectacular here
