That's the only bad thing about having long hair (that and getting it your mouth when you eat/brush your teeth/do anything involving your mouth); every now and then when you're in a restaurant or something someone will come up to you and call you "ma'am," then when you turn around they're like "omg i'm so sorry lol." You should see my brother D, his hair is like 5 times longer than mine and he gets super pissed when somebody calls him ma'am.
My girlfriend defies the stereotype entirely. She's beyond awesome. :buttrock: :buttrock: But I'm smart enough to know she's definitely nothing even approaching the average woman. (In fact, none of my female friends are.) I've liked girls that are like this PSA though, and have had guys with girlfriends like this.

Dude, I used to get that over the *phone* sometimes, especially from telemarketers. (Of course, now I answer the phone "moshi moshi!!!," which confuses telemarketers long enough for me to hang up on them, and anyone else who calls me regularly expects it by now. Though I think it probably confuses my in-laws a little...)
I get less "ma'am" these days... people around a town with a women's college know better, I guess.

I can usually get away without being called a hippie just because I'm (most of the time anyway) a pretty respectable dresser, but I do get some odd looks if I'm wearing a shirt and tie or a sweater vest (not just for nerds anymore!) with my mane blowing in the wind with the elegance of an 80's metal band. :anime:
