That was quite scary...lol

I kind of liked the episode a bit more than usual. I enjoyed the plot development between Dekker and Dayu. I also enjoyed some of the bits with Kevin not accepting AnTONYoh. The girls are useless yet again though and cant even deliver a half-hearted "hohoho" to save their lives.

I actually enjoyed this episode more than the others, too. Kevin was a douche ("You're a computer nerd, not a samurai!"), and the villains' plan was lame and didn't make any sense (You're gonna cut up the toys? Why are stalling so much? Did you ever stop to think that some of these kids could just ask their parents for new toys? Never mind the fact that their kids and probably wouldn't be upset about it for very long).

But I did like Antonio's whole, "You may not think I'm a samurai, but don't treat me like a coward" deal, and the Bulk and Spike was actually funny.

Antonio's acting is still unbearable, though. I hate the way he says "samurai."

HOW THE HELL DOES ANTONIO HAVE A INJURED ARM AND SECONDS LATER HE MORPHS AND USES IT PERFECTLY FINE? What the ****!

Stunt doubles (suit actors). :P

Happens all the time throughout Sentai & PR whenever someone gets injured badly & then morphs & everything's all fine again.

In Shinkenger, Shitari wanted young ladies to be sacrificed to the old well with a Sanzu axe so it can be served as a portal between dimensions for the Gedoushu, but in PR Samurai Octoroo wanted plastic toys to be cut up instead? How is this accomplished when those kids aren't even upset about their toys get wasted. I'm sure they wanted an excuse to ask their parents for new toys anyway.

To me it seemed like they were taking really sentimental items from kids, so it might be something that could take them a lot longer to get over. If the idea is to make people profoundly sad, then it would probably work.

Anywho. I thought it was a decent episode, Kevin's acting still really grates on me, it's not something I can get used to like with other shows for some reason, but other than that, it wasn't too bad. Antonio's actor is turning out be less impressive than I hoped he would be, but he's still pretty bearable. I really liked the idea that Dekker and Dayu could have had some sort of relationship in the past. This is something I was hoping Shinkenger would work with since Tayuu was based on a type of prostitute, but it never really went anywhere with it. I don't believe Samurai will really do anything too obvious with this, but it would be interesting to see a lost love sort of story.

What's the big deal with Octoroo? The only difference between the Sentai and American suit is his tentacle beard is moved aside so you can see his mouth. Of all the things going on, that doesn't make or break the show for me. It seems unnecessary as if they had the Japanese suit they could have kept the mouth hidden and not have to worry about making the mouth match the voice, but, hey, if they wanna blow money on an alterd suit or helmet for the suit, oh well.

I remember before saying they were all equivalent acting wise, as in noticable amateurs in need of a good director. And while I still feel that way, and think Heartman only looks like he's lost on the set looking for his photoshot, I append my earlier statement about Heartman being the worst and now give that honor to Erika Fong. How is she getting worse as the series progresses? She's reading her lines the same way a stranger would if I ran up to them on the street shoved an index card in front of them and said "Quick, read this!"

Also, like someone else mentioned, how did they know who to give the toys back to?

I was really hoping for a translation of the Shinkenger ep with the Shiro-Oniko. :'(

Anyway, not a bad ep, I'd definitely watch it again, but I swear when Erika Fong's looks start to go she's in trouble.
