Power Rangers RPM

I have no problem with individual tastes.

Its the taste of the masses. Like kids prefering to watch the uptemth rerun of a 3 years old episode of 'That So Raven' rather than watch a new episode of another show on another channel.

WTH?!

It's basic psychology in that case. The kids are young, but they're familiar with the old show. They know they like it and they know they're still going to like it when they see it again, whether they grow tired of it or not is another story. They'd rather watch a safety show they know they will like rather than risk a new show they have no exposure to and may not like in the long run.

Simple.

Yes, they have seen Power Rangers for years, but with the limited advertisement, they've seen the new season less and will have only the full first episode to judge it on. It's like how a lot of us may miss a whole off-season of news about a new Sentai/KR show, then see a picture or two (as in very little) just before it airs and be skeptical about watching it because they don't have enough info to judge whether or not they're going to like it or not. It's a franchise, but it still changes every year.

Again, simple.

If people didn't have shitty taste Firefly wouldn't have been cancelled before a full season was aired.

Hannah Montanna wouldn't be popular.

There wouldn't be a reality show called 'The Next Pussycat Doll' or 'Trading Spouses' or other TV reality crap.

American Idol wouldn't be on the air anymore.

And I wouldn't have see week after week magazines in my store talking about the 'feud' between 'Jen and Angie' -.-

People have shitty taste. Individuals have tastes of their own I can respect. 'People' is no one in particular.

PEOPLE in general are stupid, tasteless, cultureless oaf.

A crowd is as stupid as the stupidest individual in it, same goes for bad taste and same applies to TV audiance.

You're a wise man/woman.

How did you guys hear about the EP problems? (I didn't follow this thread for a while).

I think it was Ninja Jack that first mentioned it while we were all pondering Jackie Marchand's sudden withdrawal from the show she said at Power Morphicon and is on YouTube as proof that she loves working on.

Yes, I thought the writers and producers had, in order to broaden appeal to older audiences, so it doesn't need "special" treatment by advertisers. This is that "dark" crap some forum members refer to, but clearly it didn't work out, as Disney fired the showrunner, and have put the show exclusively on ABC Kids, which is for younger audiences.

Yeah but the dark plot is staying. Eddie, the first EP got fired and now this new one is making it lighter.

Yeah, well Eddie fired Jackie so it wasn't exactly her choice. I don't know where it will go from here. I keep expecting to hear that Jackie has returned to the show but I haven't heard anything like that yet.

God Dammit that pisses me off.

I really wonder why Jackie just didn't stay on board. Wasn't it some sort of disagreement between the 2 that lead to her getting fired?.

Did you hear any more news regarding RPM?

The Red Ranger will be the leader of the team. :coolshades:

Jackie might not have wanted a darker theme. She and the other staff might have thought it would be stupid to have a dark show adapted from a lighthearted season. She might have continued to argue with him over it and Eddie disagreed and fired her. After firing her the other staff members probably looked at him as an asshole for it and they didn't work with with him, so Disney let him go to stop the tension.
