Chapter 10: Liberation, Part 1

“Finally done,†Paul said as he hit a key on his computer. The data began to run as he sat back in his chair. “It shouldn’t have taken this long,†h muttered. He remembered the day he began this, the day he made his Morpher (flashback footage).
“Too bad I couldn’t find data on Titanium,†he muttered. His Morpher started to beep, so he grabbed it, “Yeah?â€
“There’s an emergency,†Troy said.
“I’m on my way,†Paul said.
Troy, Noah and Gia were piloting the Pirate Megazord alone. On the ground, Emma and Jake were fighting with a blue and silver monster with a water theme to it (Gokaiger 16).
[Gokaiger 17. 0:03-0:04]
The Pirate Megazord fell through the air.
[Gokaiger 17. 0:08]
And kept falling.

“Fireheart!†Troy called, hitting a button.
[Gokaiger 17. 0:12-0:22]
The Megazord opened, entering Mystic Pirate Megazord. It flew, evading fire from the flying giant Kraves.
[Gokaiger 17. 0:23-0:25]
It breathed fire, destroying one.
[Gokaiger 17. 0:25-0:27]
And then another.

“Let’s try another combo for the ground fight,†Gia said.
Noah nodded, “Got it.†He hit a button.
[Gokaiger 17. 0:33-0:47]
As they landed they stood as the SPD Pirate Megazord. They fired before the Kraves, taking them down all around the Megazord.

On the ground, Emma was wielding her Shining Sword while in Shining Mode (note: unlike last time, this now has the Zord head), and Jake was in Legacy Mode, wielding the Power Staff. They continued to swing at the water monster, which rolled under them.
Jake shouted as he span around, slashing it across the back. The monster whipped around to backhand him, but Emma caught it on her blade and pushed down. She landed a high kick on the monster, knocking it back.
Paul shouted as he leapt in, firing with his trident’s firearm mode. The monster was knocked back.
“Glad to see you,†Jake told Paul.
Emma nodded, “There’s a lot of them out today.â€
“Well then, time to get serious,†he said.
[Gokaiger 17. 0:48-0:52]
The Megazord turned and kept firing, before closing ports.
[Gokaiger 17. 0:54-1:09]
The Zord was released from the Megazord and drove forward, firing from all of its wheels, mowing down the Kraves around them.

“What’s going on?†Gia questioned.
[Gokaiger 17. 1:13-1:15]
A number of Kraves enlarged ahead of them in the city, standing in opposition of the team.

Troy lifted his Morpher, “Noah, are you sure?†he asked.
Noah nodded, “I’ve managed to restore communications. We can use them in Shining Mode again, so everything seems to point to this working.â€
Troy nodded and opened his Morpher, as did the other two.
[Gokaiger 17. 1:23-1:26]
The Megazord opened, displaying the logo the Rangers wore on their uniforms. The logo then became giant cards.

Every Zord head flew out of the cards, smashing through the Kraves and destroying them while the Megazord stood.

The Rangers leapt down, firearms in hand. Each one was adorned with their personal Zord, after being unable to use them since Christmas.
“Ha!†the three of them shouted, unleashing a combination of sky, land and sea energy via the Dragon, Tiger and Shark Zord heads. They blasted the monster forward, right into the waiting weapons of the other three.
A slash from each weapon took the monster down, exploding between the two halves of the team.

The flagship hung in space.

“You said you made that monster to win,†Vekar told Hexatrix, “I trust your science, but that was pathetic!â€
“Your Highness, I have others,†she assured him, “And they will do better. I have data now.†She lifted the gun-like device from a control panel, “Now I’ll see what it can do as a giant.â€

The cannons emerged and fired at Earth.
[Gokaiger 16. 20:09-20:10]
The water-based monster grew to giant size.
[Gokaiger 16. 20:20-20:21]
The monster unleashed a lightning blast at the ground.

The Rangers came out of a roll, “That was close,†Jake said.
Paul looked over their shoulders, “I’ll hold these Metins off,†he said, lifting his trident.
“Thanks,†Troy said, “Alright guys, let’s get him!†He drew his Morpher and slotted a card.
“It’s running?†Emma questioned.
“We’ll get it,†Troy said.
[Gokaiger 16. 20:45-20:54]
The monster had stopped in a wooded area and threw a lightning blast into the air, where the Pirate Megazord was dropping out of the sky, crossing blades. It rushed through the lightning and attacked, but the monster evaded and span away.

“Why did it draw us out here?†Noah muttered.
“Noah?†Emma asked, looking his way.
He looked at her, “Yeah?â€
“Is something wrong?†she asked.
“I think he’s thinking the same as me,†Gia said, “Why did it leave the city?â€
“Ignore it for now,†Troy said, “If we make short work of it, it shouldn’t matter.â€
[Gokaiger 16. 20:55-21:00]
The monster span back and continued to dodge every attack.
[Gokaiger 16. 21:01-21:07]
The monster caught both of the Megazord’s swords and held tight. It elongated its arms, gaining more distance as it held.

“Stop forcing it,†Noah said, “Just let loose. Trust me.â€
[Gokaiger 16. 21:15-21:19]
The Megazord broke free and launched back, making the monster drop forward. The Megazord landed, cannon emerged from the chest.

“Let’s see how you like this!†Jake said.
[Gokaiger 16. 21:20-21:23]
The multiple cannonballs blasted the monster down.

Emma held her hand out, revealing the Animal Crystal, “Lion, please, come to us!â€
[Gokaiger 16. 21:30-21:34 (note: cut out kanji)]
The chest of the Megazord opened, and then the Lion Zord came running.

“Let’s do what Jayden showed us,†Noah said, “I want to make sure we can do it without him.â€
[Gokaiger 16. 21:35-21:47]
The Lion combined into Samurai form.
“Samurai Pirate Megazord!â€
The monster came back to its feet, swaying.
[Gokaiger 16. 21:49-21:51]
The Megazord held its hand out, generating fire, and then into a giant version of the Fire Smasher.
[Gokaiger 16. 21:54-22:02]
The monster was cut down, and the Megazord turned away from it.

On the flagship, Hexatrix looked at a monitor, “Excellent data,†she mused, “What an excellent creature.â€
Argus looked over her shoulder, “You had my help, of course they’re excellent.â€
She glanced at him, but said nothing.
Paul slashed one more Metin down before turning to see the others running towards him, all of them in their base forms.
“Did you guys make the monster run?†Paul asked.
“No, it left and we followed,†Troy said, “We don’t know why it ran, though.â€
They all heard screams and looked at each other. They took off running, finding Metins and Kraves with a number of civilians. They were students, students that the teenagers knew from their class.
“Stop them!†Troy shouted, drawing his sidearm. He fired into a Krave, taking it down with a number of shots.
The other Kraves ran at the Rangers, leaving the Metins and the civilians on their path.
Everyone lifted their personal weapons and ran into the fight, making rather short work of the Kraves. They ran for the Metins, who were fumbling, trying to defend themselves and keep their prisoners going.
When the last Metin fell, Troy approached the students, “You’re safe now.â€
“We’re not,†one of them said.
“What do you mean?†Emma asked him.
“It was graduation today,†he said, “As soon as it finished, those things came. They surrounded us and pulled us out in groups. A lot of others were already taken, and there’s a lot still at the school, waiting to be taken. They want us, and…and why wouldn’t they come track us down again?â€
“Because we’re here,†Troy said, “What’s going on, though?â€
“There’s rumors that we’re being taken to the mines,†he said.
“The mines?†Noah questioned.
“There’s a rumor about mines,†a different student said, “To the north, somewhere. They say that these things come and steal people, then force them to dig for…well, nobody knows.â€
“Well, we’ll find out,†Troy said, “Just go and run. Hide somewhere, just be safe.†He looked at the others, “Let’s get going.â€
The Rangers ran off one way, while the students ran another.
After some running, Troy de-Morphed, so the others did a moment later.
“What are we doing?†Jake questioned.
Troy looked at him, “We’re going to school,†he said.
The six teens saw Metin guards outside of the auditorium, where the graduation had taken place, as evidenced by the signs.
“I can’t believe we missed this,†Noah said, “Time just gets away from us, doesn’t it?â€
“It doesn’t matter,†Gia said, “What matters is what we do next.â€
Troy glanced around the corner again, “Just wait…â€
Soon the doors opened and some Metins and Kraves marched a number of students out. Troy drew back around the corner and looked at the others.
As soon as the patrol came into the hall, Troy shouted, “Run!â€
The Metins and Kraves saw the six teenagers. Three Kraves moved to grab them and threw them into their group.
The group was forced along, trapped by the enemy soldiers, but all was going according to plan. For now.
They were marched to the top of a mound, overlooking a lot of people in chains, wearing torn and dirtied clothes, digging in the dirt, carrying buckets of dirt, and trying to break ground with old, damaged tools.
The Metins forced the group down the hill into the work area. As they walked, they saw two Metins dragging a man with broken chains. He was screaming and shouting for someone to help him, but nobody even looked, except for the newcomers.
“His chains are broken,†Noah said quietly.
“Someone probably broke them for him, and he tried to run,†one of the other students said.
The group stopped. Some Metins came up and applied shackles to each teen, then split them up, sending some out in groups, and others alone in other directions.
None of the Rangers were together.
Gia was taken into a pit that had been dug and pretty much pushed down the side. She kind of slid, kind of rolled, but stopped on somewhat soft earth at the bottom.
She got up, groaning a little. She saw a Metin holding out a pick for her, and then it motioned to where others were working on the other side. She took the pick and resisted the urge to strike. She moved over to the group and started to work on the hard ground.
Meanwhile, Jake was forced to work towards the place they were brought in at, digging in mounds. He eyed a Metin that was nearby, wanting to swing his pick into it so badly…
Noah was working in a hollow cave, trying to make it bigger and deeper, it looked like. The only guards were outside.
“What are we even doing?†he whispered to one prisoner.
“None of us know,†he responded.
Emma was forced to help dig a fresh pit, having a shovel for the job. Likewise, Paul wasn’t far, doing the same job. Why two holes needed to be so close was a big question.
Troy was put into a deeper mine and started to walk, with only dim lights helping guide the way as a Metin took him deeper inside. He could hear the sounds of picks striking stone as they walked.
He turned his head and froze. The Metin forced him to keep moving, but he had seen it.
The robot that had drained the Phantom Ranger’s power. It was here. Was the Phantom here too?
He was given a pickaxe and the Metin left, although two were still there, watching. Troy looked at them, and then turned to strike the stone.
The workers with Gia stopped working and sat down. She looked, and then moved to rest as well.
“We get a few minutes every few hours,†one man told her. He had blond hair down to around his jaw in length. He looked around, “It’s disgusting, making teenagers work like this…â€
“There’s a lot of us,†Gia said, “It’s smart for them.â€
“I’ve never seen conquerors like this, though,†he said.
“What do you mean?â€
“I’m not from Earth,†he told her, “I’m from Mercuria.†He looked at his shackles, “Of course, they’re using special shackles on me and any of my people so our powers are negated.†He looked back to Gia, “I’ve seen what happens to some planets after being conquered. I’d seen a lot of it, working as a rescue member.
“This is the first time I’ve ever seen them take teenagers or young people like this. Most conquerors have decency. Or…well, as decent as they can be. This empire though…they just want to get things done, and don’t care about anything else. I’m sure they’d blast planets apart just to have more men instead of spreading them out to babysit planets. But they need planets for resources, because of how large they are…â€
Gia looked around, “How many people are here?†she asked.
“I don’t know,†he told her. “Why?â€
“I’m part of the rescue,†she said as quietly as she could. “A Ranger.â€
“I used to be,†he told her, “But that’s for another time. My name is Tyzonn.â€
“Gia.â€
“Good luck,†he whispered, “You might want to make a move soon. There’s not much time left on this break. And if you wait for the next one, you might be too tired.â€
She nodded, “Yeah.†She fumbled in her jacket pocket, slipping the Morpher out. “Break my chains.â€
Tyzonn looked around, “Gladly,†he said, coming to his feet. He took grip of his pickaxe and swung it down, shouting with effort as he broke them.
Gia quickly slotted her card as Metins ran for them. Tyzonn swung his pick into one and tried to fight, but being chained, he wasn’t getting far.
Gia kicked a Metin back and looked at the other prisoners, “Stay put! I’ll break your bonds in a minute!â€
Tyzonn wrapped his shackles around a Metin’s axe and pulled it to the ground. He kicked it as best as he could in the process.
Jake was still working, panting. His Morpher was in the pocket of his hoodie, but he couldn’t get at it. He looked around and saw a Metin just walk past him.
“Why not?†he muttered. He shouted and swung, taking the Metin down, “Guys! We’re getting out of here!†he shouted to the workers around him.
Nobody did anything.
“Guys?â€
Two Metins hit Jake, dropping him. A golden monster walked towards him (Gokaiger 20) and stood there, motioning. The Metins dragged Jake after the monster.
As they moved, two Metins were knocked back by Emma and Paul’s kicks. Both were Morphed and running for the monster, weapons in hand.
It swung, but Emma ducked and shot at its side. It stumbled, but managed to block Paul’s trident. Paul forced his trident down, forcing the arm of the monster down as well, then swung the other end down and stumbled the monster’s footing.
Jake pushed against one of the Metins and kicked the other one aside. “Emma!†he called.
She rolled towards him and fired a few more times at the monster, then slashed his chains off with the edge of her weapon. She gave him a nod and rushed back at the monster.
“Mega Morph!†he called, transforming and swinging his Snake Axe up.
Troy sat on a rock and looked at the others. “So, how long have you been working here?†he asked.
“A month,†one of them said.
“A month,†another said.
“I was here the day they started,†a third one said, “A month and a half ago.â€
“So, that’s all the longer this has been here?†Troy asked.
The man nodded, “I guess so.â€
“Do you know what they’re even doing here?†he asked.
“No,†one of them said, “I’ve never heard any mention.â€
“If they’re doing something this big, it can’t be good,†Troy said.
“Someone will find us eventually,†one man said, “I believe in the Power Rangers. I believe that they’ll come and that they’ll save us.â€
“Shark Bowgun!†Noah called, leaping and firing, striking the monster back with a few shots.
He landed and moved to join the others, “Let’s take him down,†Paul said.
Each Ranger leveled a weapon at the monster from a previous Ranger.
“Delta Enforcer!†Noah shouted.
“Zeo Cannon!†Paul shouted.
“Bullzooka!†Emma shouted.
“Drill Blaster!†Jake shouted.
The monster looked at the assembled Rangers and their weapons (note: all in previous suits of their own colors. Paul appears as Red Zeo). Everyone shouted and fired, destroying the monster.
Gia kicked a Metin back, and then stumbled a little and looked up.

The monster towered over them, horn glowing, and then it released its power.

The Rangers shouted and were thrown back into the dirt.
Noah and Paul lifted their Morphers, “Megazords!†they called, loading a card and hitting a button.

The Q-Rex Drill Megazord came in drill mode. Paul leapt into it and flew through the monster’s next attack.
[Gokaiger 20. 20:27-20:30]
The drill rammed the monster in the chest.
[Gokaiger 20. 20:33]
The drill went up.
[Gokaiger 20. 20:34-20:36]
The Zord was knocked back.

“Here we come!†Noah said as he, Emma and Jake manned the cockpit.
“Me too,†Paul said, hitting some buttons.
[Gokaiger 20. 21:23-21:26]
The Samurai Pirate Megazord stood beside the warrior mode of the Q-Rex Drill Megazord.
[Gokaiger 20. 21:27-21:37]
The Pirate moved first, but the monster evaded, then blocked and slashed the Drill. It evaded the Samurai, but took a shot to the chest.
[Gokaiger 20. 21:38-21:39]
The drill caught it in the chest next, staggering it back.
[Gokaiger 20. 21:40-21:45]
The slash of the Samurai Pirate Megazord’s weapon took the monster back.
[Gokaiger 20. 21:47-22:05]
“Let’s finish this!†the Rangers shouted together as the massive Fire Smasher appeared. They slashed as the triple drills came in from Paul, destroying the monster. The two Megazords turned.

A monster appeared on the screen on the flagship, “They’re ruining my mine! Get them out of here so I can regain control!â€
“Very well,†Hexatrix said, lifting her blaster weapon, “Pick up your defenses in the meantime.â€
[Gokaiger 2. 18:58-19:01]
The cannons appeared on the flagship and fired.
[Gokaiger 23. 19:10-19:12]
A fire monster grew to massive size.

“Guys!†Paul said, looking at his screen, “They enlarged a monster in the city!â€
“Then let’s go!†Jake said.
“What about the mines?†Emma asked.
“We’ll have to come back,†Noah said.
[Gokaiger 23. 19:18-19:19]
The fire monster unleashed a blast of fire.

“It’s attacking the city!†Emma said.
“Switch to the Skyship,†Noah said, hitting some buttons, “It’ll be faster. We’ll reform when we get there.â€
“Me too,†Paul said, “Switching modes…â€
Gia climbed out of the pit, prisoners behind her, all of them free of their bonds. She looked at Tyzonn, “I trust you can free others.â€
He nodded, “Of course,†he said, running towards the other parts of the mine.
Gia was about to run, but a figure walked towards her. She turned, lifting her blaster.
“Where do you think you’re going?†the monster hissed. It was purple and green, with shield-like arms (Gokaiger 32).
“To free others,†Gia said.
“No. You’re not,†he hissed, “Not in my mines.â€
[Gokaiger 23. 19:51-19:54]
The Pirate and Drill Megazords stood in opposition of the fire monster in the city. The fire monster ran towards them.
[Gokaiger 23. 19:58-20:14]
The two Megazords ran forward. The Pirate slashed down, striking the monster across the chest. The Drill’s drill struck it in the chest next with a thrust to knock it back.
The monster rolled and came back up. It released a blast of fire at the two Megazords, encircling them in flame.

“It’s so hot in here!†Jake shouted. He looked at Noah, “What can we do?â€
“I’m thinking!†he said.
“Guys, try Fireheart!†Paul said.
“Alright,†Noah said, “Fire and fire. Not logical, but let’s try it anyway.â€
[Gokaiger 23. 20:25-20:33]
The Megazord opened and became Mystic Pirate Megazord. Fireheart released flames at the monster, but it absorbed them and grew stronger.

“Good,†Noah said.
“Good?†Jake questioned.
“It is good,†Paul said, “Or in theory, anyway.â€
“Wait…,†Emma said, “You’re trying to overload him, aren’t you?â€
“Well, that’s an idea,†Noah said.
[Gokaiger 23. 20:41]
The monster let out a roar and released some heat energy.
[Gokaiger 23. 20:48-20:53]
The drill opened, and the monster released flames.
[Gokaiger 23. 20:54-20:59]
The opened drill span, creating a shield.

Noah was hitting some buttons, “Let’s see…,†he hit something, “There.â€
“What is it?†Jake asked.
“The Megazords are huge. There’s a cooling system,†he said.
“What are you doing with it?†Emma asked.
“Redirecting it out.â€
[Gokaiger 23. 21:15-21:18]
The Megazord opened, revealing large hoses while the shield kept spinning.

“What’s this?†Noah muttered.
“What is it?†Emma asked, looking at him.
“There’s something here I’ve never seen before,†he said, bringing it up. It was the emblem of Lightspeed.
“Didn’t they release some sort of information about helping SPD after Vrak’s little trap, and about Virox?†Jake asked.
“Yeah,†Noah said, “It’s also possible they were looking into these mines. They’re a rescue group, after all. Well, they got this to us somehow.â€
“Let’s use it!†Jake said.
[Gokaiger 23. 21:22-21:36]
The hoses fired, aiding the shield. The monster was struck and couldn’t do much. It stumbled back. The Megazord came forward, flames coming around it in a circle, the Lightspeed emblem at their back. The monster looked up.
[Gokaiger 23. 21:37-21:44]
The Megazord did a cross slash, aided by the energy from Lightspeed’s support, slashing the monster.
[Gokaiger 23. 21:56-22:07]
“Here’s my help!†Paul shouted as the three drills came forward, slamming into the monster. It fell as the Megazords turned, and then the monster exploded.

“We have to get back to the mines,†Noah said.
“Let’s hope Gia and Troy are ok,†Paul said.
Before they went anywhere, they all heard something.
“That’s…,†Paul muttered.
Standing on a rooftop was Argus, sword in hand.
“Fight me!†he shouted.
Gia was thrown to the ground from a punch. She came to her feet and fired, but the monster used a single arm to block the shot. It walked towards her and kicked her down a pit where other prisoners were.
“Now, hand over your Morpher peacefully. If you don’t, I’ll come down there, and you really don’t want that.â€
“No!†Gia shouted, firing up at him again, but he just batted away the shots with his shield arms.
The monster slid down the pit and punched her into the sloping wall. He grabbed her by the throat for a second, then let go.
“Surrender it now, or I will destroy these people,†he motioned to the slaves.
“No!†Gia shouted. She wanted to try thr Spirit, but didn’t. She undid her Morph instead. The monster grabbed her Morpher and climbed out of the pit.
“The next time you try something, Ranger, I will destroy you.â€
“Why aren’t you now?†she shouted up.
“Because I want to watch your soul break, your body break. I don’t want much else. I just want to see you broken, and unable to fight back. That is far more satisfying.â€
He laughed and left Gia in the pit. Others were thrown down into it as well, others whom she’d tried to get to escape.
“Tyzonn, I hope you succeed,†she said softly. She grabbed a pick and started to strike stone, so the Metins ignored her.
Troy kicked the last Metin into the wall and looked back. The others weren’t fleeing.
“Fine,†Troy said, running farther into the mine.
He’d seen that robot. The Phantom Ranger had to be back here somewhere.
“Phantom…I’m coming.â€

“Let’s try another combo for the ground fight,†Gia said.
Noah nodded, “Got it.†He hit a button.

As they landed they stood as the SPD Pirate Megazord. They fired before the Kraves, taking them down all around the Megazord.

On the ground, Emma was wielding her Shining Sword while in Shining Mode (note: unlike last time, this now has the Zord head), and Jake was in Legacy Mode, wielding the Power Staff. They continued to swing at the water monster, which rolled under them.
Jake shouted as he span around, slashing it across the back. The monster whipped around to backhand him, but Emma caught it on her blade and pushed down. She landed a high kick on the monster, knocking it back.
Paul shouted as he leapt in, firing with his trident’s firearm mode. The monster was knocked back.
“Glad to see you,†Jake told Paul.
Emma nodded, “There’s a lot of them out today.â€
“Well then, time to get serious,†he said.
[Gokaiger 17. 0:48-0:52]
The Megazord turned and kept firing, before closing ports.
[Gokaiger 17. 0:54-1:09]
The Zord was released from the Megazord and drove forward, firing from all of its wheels, mowing down the Kraves around them.

“What’s going on?†Gia questioned.

A number of Kraves enlarged ahead of them in the city, standing in opposition of the team.

Troy lifted his Morpher, “Noah, are you sure?†he asked.
Noah nodded, “I’ve managed to restore communications. We can use them in Shining Mode again, so everything seems to point to this working.â€
Troy nodded and opened his Morpher, as did the other two.

The Megazord opened, displaying the logo the Rangers wore on their uniforms. The logo then became giant cards.

Every Zord head flew out of the cards, smashing through the Kraves and destroying them while the Megazord stood.

The Rangers leapt down, firearms in hand. Each one was adorned with their personal Zord, after being unable to use them since Christmas.
“Ha!†the three of them shouted, unleashing a combination of sky, land and sea energy via the Dragon, Tiger and Shark Zord heads. They blasted the monster forward, right into the waiting weapons of the other three.
A slash from each weapon took the monster down, exploding between the two halves of the team.

“You said you made that monster to win,†Vekar told Hexatrix, “I trust your science, but that was pathetic!â€
“Your Highness, I have others,†she assured him, “And they will do better. I have data now.†She lifted the gun-like device from a control panel, “Now I’ll see what it can do as a giant.â€

The cannons emerged and fired at Earth.

The water-based monster grew to giant size.

The monster unleashed a lightning blast at the ground.

The Rangers came out of a roll, “That was close,†Jake said.
Paul looked over their shoulders, “I’ll hold these Metins off,†he said, lifting his trident.
“Thanks,†Troy said, “Alright guys, let’s get him!†He drew his Morpher and slotted a card.
“It’s running?†Emma questioned.
“We’ll get it,†Troy said.
[Gokaiger 16. 20:45-20:54]
The monster had stopped in a wooded area and threw a lightning blast into the air, where the Pirate Megazord was dropping out of the sky, crossing blades. It rushed through the lightning and attacked, but the monster evaded and span away.

“Why did it draw us out here?†Noah muttered.
“Noah?†Emma asked, looking his way.
He looked at her, “Yeah?â€
“Is something wrong?†she asked.
“I think he’s thinking the same as me,†Gia said, “Why did it leave the city?â€
“Ignore it for now,†Troy said, “If we make short work of it, it shouldn’t matter.â€
[Gokaiger 16. 20:55-21:00]
The monster span back and continued to dodge every attack.
[Gokaiger 16. 21:01-21:07]
The monster caught both of the Megazord’s swords and held tight. It elongated its arms, gaining more distance as it held.

“Stop forcing it,†Noah said, “Just let loose. Trust me.â€
[Gokaiger 16. 21:15-21:19]
The Megazord broke free and launched back, making the monster drop forward. The Megazord landed, cannon emerged from the chest.

“Let’s see how you like this!†Jake said.
[Gokaiger 16. 21:20-21:23]
The multiple cannonballs blasted the monster down.

Emma held her hand out, revealing the Animal Crystal, “Lion, please, come to us!â€

The chest of the Megazord opened, and then the Lion Zord came running.

“Let’s do what Jayden showed us,†Noah said, “I want to make sure we can do it without him.â€

The Lion combined into Samurai form.
“Samurai Pirate Megazord!â€
The monster came back to its feet, swaying.

The Megazord held its hand out, generating fire, and then into a giant version of the Fire Smasher.

The monster was cut down, and the Megazord turned away from it.

On the flagship, Hexatrix looked at a monitor, “Excellent data,†she mused, “What an excellent creature.â€
Argus looked over her shoulder, “You had my help, of course they’re excellent.â€
She glanced at him, but said nothing.
Paul slashed one more Metin down before turning to see the others running towards him, all of them in their base forms.
“Did you guys make the monster run?†Paul asked.
“No, it left and we followed,†Troy said, “We don’t know why it ran, though.â€
They all heard screams and looked at each other. They took off running, finding Metins and Kraves with a number of civilians. They were students, students that the teenagers knew from their class.
“Stop them!†Troy shouted, drawing his sidearm. He fired into a Krave, taking it down with a number of shots.
The other Kraves ran at the Rangers, leaving the Metins and the civilians on their path.
Everyone lifted their personal weapons and ran into the fight, making rather short work of the Kraves. They ran for the Metins, who were fumbling, trying to defend themselves and keep their prisoners going.
When the last Metin fell, Troy approached the students, “You’re safe now.â€
“We’re not,†one of them said.
“What do you mean?†Emma asked him.
“It was graduation today,†he said, “As soon as it finished, those things came. They surrounded us and pulled us out in groups. A lot of others were already taken, and there’s a lot still at the school, waiting to be taken. They want us, and…and why wouldn’t they come track us down again?â€
“Because we’re here,†Troy said, “What’s going on, though?â€
“There’s rumors that we’re being taken to the mines,†he said.
“The mines?†Noah questioned.
“There’s a rumor about mines,†a different student said, “To the north, somewhere. They say that these things come and steal people, then force them to dig for…well, nobody knows.â€
“Well, we’ll find out,†Troy said, “Just go and run. Hide somewhere, just be safe.†He looked at the others, “Let’s get going.â€
The Rangers ran off one way, while the students ran another.
After some running, Troy de-Morphed, so the others did a moment later.
“What are we doing?†Jake questioned.
Troy looked at him, “We’re going to school,†he said.
The six teens saw Metin guards outside of the auditorium, where the graduation had taken place, as evidenced by the signs.
“I can’t believe we missed this,†Noah said, “Time just gets away from us, doesn’t it?â€
“It doesn’t matter,†Gia said, “What matters is what we do next.â€
Troy glanced around the corner again, “Just wait…â€
Soon the doors opened and some Metins and Kraves marched a number of students out. Troy drew back around the corner and looked at the others.
As soon as the patrol came into the hall, Troy shouted, “Run!â€
The Metins and Kraves saw the six teenagers. Three Kraves moved to grab them and threw them into their group.
The group was forced along, trapped by the enemy soldiers, but all was going according to plan. For now.
They were marched to the top of a mound, overlooking a lot of people in chains, wearing torn and dirtied clothes, digging in the dirt, carrying buckets of dirt, and trying to break ground with old, damaged tools.
The Metins forced the group down the hill into the work area. As they walked, they saw two Metins dragging a man with broken chains. He was screaming and shouting for someone to help him, but nobody even looked, except for the newcomers.
“His chains are broken,†Noah said quietly.
“Someone probably broke them for him, and he tried to run,†one of the other students said.
The group stopped. Some Metins came up and applied shackles to each teen, then split them up, sending some out in groups, and others alone in other directions.
None of the Rangers were together.
Gia was taken into a pit that had been dug and pretty much pushed down the side. She kind of slid, kind of rolled, but stopped on somewhat soft earth at the bottom.
She got up, groaning a little. She saw a Metin holding out a pick for her, and then it motioned to where others were working on the other side. She took the pick and resisted the urge to strike. She moved over to the group and started to work on the hard ground.
Meanwhile, Jake was forced to work towards the place they were brought in at, digging in mounds. He eyed a Metin that was nearby, wanting to swing his pick into it so badly…
Noah was working in a hollow cave, trying to make it bigger and deeper, it looked like. The only guards were outside.
“What are we even doing?†he whispered to one prisoner.
“None of us know,†he responded.
Emma was forced to help dig a fresh pit, having a shovel for the job. Likewise, Paul wasn’t far, doing the same job. Why two holes needed to be so close was a big question.
Troy was put into a deeper mine and started to walk, with only dim lights helping guide the way as a Metin took him deeper inside. He could hear the sounds of picks striking stone as they walked.
He turned his head and froze. The Metin forced him to keep moving, but he had seen it.
The robot that had drained the Phantom Ranger’s power. It was here. Was the Phantom here too?
He was given a pickaxe and the Metin left, although two were still there, watching. Troy looked at them, and then turned to strike the stone.
The workers with Gia stopped working and sat down. She looked, and then moved to rest as well.
“We get a few minutes every few hours,†one man told her. He had blond hair down to around his jaw in length. He looked around, “It’s disgusting, making teenagers work like this…â€
“There’s a lot of us,†Gia said, “It’s smart for them.â€
“I’ve never seen conquerors like this, though,†he said.
“What do you mean?â€
“I’m not from Earth,†he told her, “I’m from Mercuria.†He looked at his shackles, “Of course, they’re using special shackles on me and any of my people so our powers are negated.†He looked back to Gia, “I’ve seen what happens to some planets after being conquered. I’d seen a lot of it, working as a rescue member.
“This is the first time I’ve ever seen them take teenagers or young people like this. Most conquerors have decency. Or…well, as decent as they can be. This empire though…they just want to get things done, and don’t care about anything else. I’m sure they’d blast planets apart just to have more men instead of spreading them out to babysit planets. But they need planets for resources, because of how large they are…â€
Gia looked around, “How many people are here?†she asked.
“I don’t know,†he told her. “Why?â€
“I’m part of the rescue,†she said as quietly as she could. “A Ranger.â€
“I used to be,†he told her, “But that’s for another time. My name is Tyzonn.â€
“Gia.â€
“Good luck,†he whispered, “You might want to make a move soon. There’s not much time left on this break. And if you wait for the next one, you might be too tired.â€
She nodded, “Yeah.†She fumbled in her jacket pocket, slipping the Morpher out. “Break my chains.â€
Tyzonn looked around, “Gladly,†he said, coming to his feet. He took grip of his pickaxe and swung it down, shouting with effort as he broke them.
Gia quickly slotted her card as Metins ran for them. Tyzonn swung his pick into one and tried to fight, but being chained, he wasn’t getting far.
Gia kicked a Metin back and looked at the other prisoners, “Stay put! I’ll break your bonds in a minute!â€
Tyzonn wrapped his shackles around a Metin’s axe and pulled it to the ground. He kicked it as best as he could in the process.
Jake was still working, panting. His Morpher was in the pocket of his hoodie, but he couldn’t get at it. He looked around and saw a Metin just walk past him.
“Why not?†he muttered. He shouted and swung, taking the Metin down, “Guys! We’re getting out of here!†he shouted to the workers around him.
Nobody did anything.
“Guys?â€
Two Metins hit Jake, dropping him. A golden monster walked towards him (Gokaiger 20) and stood there, motioning. The Metins dragged Jake after the monster.
As they moved, two Metins were knocked back by Emma and Paul’s kicks. Both were Morphed and running for the monster, weapons in hand.
It swung, but Emma ducked and shot at its side. It stumbled, but managed to block Paul’s trident. Paul forced his trident down, forcing the arm of the monster down as well, then swung the other end down and stumbled the monster’s footing.
Jake pushed against one of the Metins and kicked the other one aside. “Emma!†he called.
She rolled towards him and fired a few more times at the monster, then slashed his chains off with the edge of her weapon. She gave him a nod and rushed back at the monster.
“Mega Morph!†he called, transforming and swinging his Snake Axe up.
Troy sat on a rock and looked at the others. “So, how long have you been working here?†he asked.
“A month,†one of them said.
“A month,†another said.
“I was here the day they started,†a third one said, “A month and a half ago.â€
“So, that’s all the longer this has been here?†Troy asked.
The man nodded, “I guess so.â€
“Do you know what they’re even doing here?†he asked.
“No,†one of them said, “I’ve never heard any mention.â€
“If they’re doing something this big, it can’t be good,†Troy said.
“Someone will find us eventually,†one man said, “I believe in the Power Rangers. I believe that they’ll come and that they’ll save us.â€
“Shark Bowgun!†Noah called, leaping and firing, striking the monster back with a few shots.
He landed and moved to join the others, “Let’s take him down,†Paul said.
Each Ranger leveled a weapon at the monster from a previous Ranger.
“Delta Enforcer!†Noah shouted.
“Zeo Cannon!†Paul shouted.
“Bullzooka!†Emma shouted.
“Drill Blaster!†Jake shouted.
The monster looked at the assembled Rangers and their weapons (note: all in previous suits of their own colors. Paul appears as Red Zeo). Everyone shouted and fired, destroying the monster.
Gia kicked a Metin back, and then stumbled a little and looked up.

The monster towered over them, horn glowing, and then it released its power.

The Rangers shouted and were thrown back into the dirt.
Noah and Paul lifted their Morphers, “Megazords!†they called, loading a card and hitting a button.

The Q-Rex Drill Megazord came in drill mode. Paul leapt into it and flew through the monster’s next attack.
[Gokaiger 20. 20:27-20:30]
The drill rammed the monster in the chest.
[Gokaiger 20. 20:33]
The drill went up.
[Gokaiger 20. 20:34-20:36]
The Zord was knocked back.

“Here we come!†Noah said as he, Emma and Jake manned the cockpit.
“Me too,†Paul said, hitting some buttons.
[Gokaiger 20. 21:23-21:26]
The Samurai Pirate Megazord stood beside the warrior mode of the Q-Rex Drill Megazord.
[Gokaiger 20. 21:27-21:37]
The Pirate moved first, but the monster evaded, then blocked and slashed the Drill. It evaded the Samurai, but took a shot to the chest.
[Gokaiger 20. 21:38-21:39]
The drill caught it in the chest next, staggering it back.
[Gokaiger 20. 21:40-21:45]
The slash of the Samurai Pirate Megazord’s weapon took the monster back.
[Gokaiger 20. 21:47-22:05]
“Let’s finish this!†the Rangers shouted together as the massive Fire Smasher appeared. They slashed as the triple drills came in from Paul, destroying the monster. The two Megazords turned.

A monster appeared on the screen on the flagship, “They’re ruining my mine! Get them out of here so I can regain control!â€
“Very well,†Hexatrix said, lifting her blaster weapon, “Pick up your defenses in the meantime.â€

The cannons appeared on the flagship and fired.
[Gokaiger 23. 19:10-19:12]
A fire monster grew to massive size.

“Guys!†Paul said, looking at his screen, “They enlarged a monster in the city!â€
“Then let’s go!†Jake said.
“What about the mines?†Emma asked.
“We’ll have to come back,†Noah said.

The fire monster unleashed a blast of fire.

“It’s attacking the city!†Emma said.
“Switch to the Skyship,†Noah said, hitting some buttons, “It’ll be faster. We’ll reform when we get there.â€
“Me too,†Paul said, “Switching modes…â€
Gia climbed out of the pit, prisoners behind her, all of them free of their bonds. She looked at Tyzonn, “I trust you can free others.â€
He nodded, “Of course,†he said, running towards the other parts of the mine.
Gia was about to run, but a figure walked towards her. She turned, lifting her blaster.
“Where do you think you’re going?†the monster hissed. It was purple and green, with shield-like arms (Gokaiger 32).
“To free others,†Gia said.
“No. You’re not,†he hissed, “Not in my mines.â€
[Gokaiger 23. 19:51-19:54]
The Pirate and Drill Megazords stood in opposition of the fire monster in the city. The fire monster ran towards them.
[Gokaiger 23. 19:58-20:14]
The two Megazords ran forward. The Pirate slashed down, striking the monster across the chest. The Drill’s drill struck it in the chest next with a thrust to knock it back.
The monster rolled and came back up. It released a blast of fire at the two Megazords, encircling them in flame.

“It’s so hot in here!†Jake shouted. He looked at Noah, “What can we do?â€
“I’m thinking!†he said.
“Guys, try Fireheart!†Paul said.
“Alright,†Noah said, “Fire and fire. Not logical, but let’s try it anyway.â€
[Gokaiger 23. 20:25-20:33]
The Megazord opened and became Mystic Pirate Megazord. Fireheart released flames at the monster, but it absorbed them and grew stronger.

“Good,†Noah said.
“Good?†Jake questioned.
“It is good,†Paul said, “Or in theory, anyway.â€
“Wait…,†Emma said, “You’re trying to overload him, aren’t you?â€
“Well, that’s an idea,†Noah said.
[Gokaiger 23. 20:41]
The monster let out a roar and released some heat energy.
[Gokaiger 23. 20:48-20:53]
The drill opened, and the monster released flames.
[Gokaiger 23. 20:54-20:59]
The opened drill span, creating a shield.

Noah was hitting some buttons, “Let’s see…,†he hit something, “There.â€
“What is it?†Jake asked.
“The Megazords are huge. There’s a cooling system,†he said.
“What are you doing with it?†Emma asked.
“Redirecting it out.â€
[Gokaiger 23. 21:15-21:18]
The Megazord opened, revealing large hoses while the shield kept spinning.

“What’s this?†Noah muttered.
“What is it?†Emma asked, looking at him.
“There’s something here I’ve never seen before,†he said, bringing it up. It was the emblem of Lightspeed.
“Didn’t they release some sort of information about helping SPD after Vrak’s little trap, and about Virox?†Jake asked.
“Yeah,†Noah said, “It’s also possible they were looking into these mines. They’re a rescue group, after all. Well, they got this to us somehow.â€
“Let’s use it!†Jake said.
[Gokaiger 23. 21:22-21:36]
The hoses fired, aiding the shield. The monster was struck and couldn’t do much. It stumbled back. The Megazord came forward, flames coming around it in a circle, the Lightspeed emblem at their back. The monster looked up.
[Gokaiger 23. 21:37-21:44]
The Megazord did a cross slash, aided by the energy from Lightspeed’s support, slashing the monster.
[Gokaiger 23. 21:56-22:07]
“Here’s my help!†Paul shouted as the three drills came forward, slamming into the monster. It fell as the Megazords turned, and then the monster exploded.

“We have to get back to the mines,†Noah said.
“Let’s hope Gia and Troy are ok,†Paul said.
Before they went anywhere, they all heard something.
“That’s…,†Paul muttered.
Standing on a rooftop was Argus, sword in hand.
“Fight me!†he shouted.
Gia was thrown to the ground from a punch. She came to her feet and fired, but the monster used a single arm to block the shot. It walked towards her and kicked her down a pit where other prisoners were.
“Now, hand over your Morpher peacefully. If you don’t, I’ll come down there, and you really don’t want that.â€
“No!†Gia shouted, firing up at him again, but he just batted away the shots with his shield arms.
The monster slid down the pit and punched her into the sloping wall. He grabbed her by the throat for a second, then let go.
“Surrender it now, or I will destroy these people,†he motioned to the slaves.
“No!†Gia shouted. She wanted to try thr Spirit, but didn’t. She undid her Morph instead. The monster grabbed her Morpher and climbed out of the pit.
“The next time you try something, Ranger, I will destroy you.â€
“Why aren’t you now?†she shouted up.
“Because I want to watch your soul break, your body break. I don’t want much else. I just want to see you broken, and unable to fight back. That is far more satisfying.â€
He laughed and left Gia in the pit. Others were thrown down into it as well, others whom she’d tried to get to escape.
“Tyzonn, I hope you succeed,†she said softly. She grabbed a pick and started to strike stone, so the Metins ignored her.
Troy kicked the last Metin into the wall and looked back. The others weren’t fleeing.
“Fine,†Troy said, running farther into the mine.
He’d seen that robot. The Phantom Ranger had to be back here somewhere.
“Phantom…I’m coming.â€
