Chapter 41: Opening the Door
“On the upside, we know where it is,†Noah said as they looked at a map of the area, “It’s surrounded by forest, so we can make a stealthy entrance if we have to.â€
“But the downside is Vayne,†Jake said, leaning against the podium, “We can’t beat him.â€
“But there are eight of us now,†Gia said, “If nothing else, we can at least provide a distraction for one of us to get to and destroy or close the Door.â€
“One problem is that we still don’t know what it’s for,†Noah said, “Destroying it might not be in our best interests.â€
“It should be,†Paul said, “If destroying it was the best thing, then why waste their time opening it?â€
“But how would we even destroy it?†Emma asked.
“We have enough weapons. We should be able to blow it apart,†Jake said.
“We just have to do everything we can to reach and destroy it,†Troy said, “Even if calling in the Megazord is the best approach.â€
“How are you feeling?†Emma asked the Phantom Ranger.
“I’m feeling better,†he said, “I can fight again.â€
“Alright, then we should be deploying soon,†Troy said, “The five of us will go from one way, Paul, Ninjor, Phantom. You three go another way. That seems like it would be the best way for us to do this.â€
Everyone nodded in agreement.
“What are you thinking?†Vrak asked Vayne.
“What do you mean?†Vayne questioned.
“Don’t you get bored just standing here?†Vrak questioned, “Surely you’d rather be out, fighting, hunting bounties.â€
“This is a paying job, and it pays immensely,†Vayne said.
“But what about when it’s all over? What are you going to do? Use your wealth and retire somewhere? I’m actually curious. You don’t seem like the type who would do that. You enjoy fighting, so why retire? But you’re also claiming to be the strongest, so who could possibly challenge you?â€
“Do you think you can?†Vayne questioned.
“Honestly? I don’t know,†Vrak said, “I don’t intend to find out either.â€
“Smart answer.â€
“But I am curious. What are your plans?†Vrak asked.
“If nothing else, I can buy passage to the far reaches of the galaxy and fight to my heart’s content against the armies of planets not yet conquered by the Empire,†he said.
“Or armies of the Empire,†Vrak said.
“You’re smart,†Vayne said.
“If you turn against us, you will find yourself overwhelmed and destroyed,†Vrak said.
“Or you may find you father is out of a job, and I now rule the Empire,†Vayne responded.
“And you could do it too,†Vrak said.
“I won’t though,†Vayne said, “I might attack your Empire for fun, but if I take it over, then what? No, I want you to regroup and keep fighting with me. That’s the dream.â€
“Your dreams and mine differ far too much,†Vrak said.
Vayne laughed. Vrak turned his head as he heard an approach, “Duotar. Report.â€
The monster – Vrak’s final bodyguard – bowed. “The Rangers have been found.â€
“Stop them then.â€
Duotar nodded and ran off. Vrak looked to Vayne, “I’m off too.â€
“Have fun for me,†Vayne growled.
The Rangers were in a rocky, open area, “Not much farther,†Noah said. Then something hit the group fast, and Duotar stood there, razors on his horns, two faces emerging from a single head. The team picked themselves back up.

Duotar leapt, landing beside Vrak, who held a sword in his hand, “They don’t pay much attention,†Duotar told Vrak. “Oh well,†he rotated an arm, “It’ll still be a fun fight.†He turned to Vrak, “Permission to destroy them?†One head spoke, “Master,†the other, “Vrak?†He bowed, “Please.â€
“Yes.â€
“Thank you,†he answered, rushing at the team as they scrambled together.
Duotar shouted as he struck, smashing Emma back, throwing Jake over him, head-butting Gia, throwing Noah, pushing Troy back.
“Your power is just what I need here,†Vrak said, “They can’t do anything against you. Finally.â€

“He’s so strong,†Jake muttered as he got up.
“He’s just like Quadrill, and that three headed monster at the arena,†Troy said.
“Let’s hope there’s not a five headed one,†Gia muttered.
The team came back together as Quadrill laughed, “I am the last of Master Vrak’s bodyguards, but I am the strongest! Prepare!â€
Ninjor, Paul, and the Phantom Ranger were working on their approach from another side, through some woods. Paul stopped, “I should contact the others and see where they are,†he said.
“How did you come by such a Morpher?†Ninjor was asking the Phantom.
“I made it, based on your other Morphers,†he told the ninja.
Ninjor nodded, “And you made it use all of my cards? I’m touched.â€
“Now’s not a good time,†Paul whispered back. Some Metins walked through the forest not far from them.
They remained silent as the patrol passed by. Paul drew up his Morpher again, “Guys?â€
[Goseiger 46. 6:43-7:48]
Duotar smashed the Rangers back with ease and rammed Troy.
Troy grabbed his horns and tried to hold his ground, “We have to stop him, quickly!†He was smashed back and rolled. The others came to him, calling his name.
“You should pay attention to your enemies,†one head said, “Or bad things could happen,†the other said.
Gia pointed, “Guys!â€
“His horns!†Jake said, pointing. “If we can get his horns…â€
Duotar drew his arms up, “Try me,†he growled, drawing his foot over the ground, ready to run.
“Ok then!†Jake said, running forward. He grabbed the horns as Duotar ran. Jake grunted with effort as he tried to force Duotar to slow or stop. Jake was dragged and finally managed to pull Duotar around, “Got you!†he shouted, smashing a horn off with an arm strike.
Duotar came back a bit and Jake shouted, giving him a roundhouse to roll him away.
Duotar rolled across the ground as the others converged on Jake. “Good job!†they congratulated him.
“If they think we’re that weak,†one head said, “Then they’re in for a real surprise,†the other stated.
Duotar rose and the stub of the horn glowed, becoming a new horn.
“No way!†Noah said.
“How?†Emma questioned.
“Darn it!†Jake shouted.
“We’ll have to destroy both,†Troy said.
“On it,†Noah said as he lifted his Shark Bowgun. He and Emma ran forward, lifting their personal weapons, “Ha!†they shouted as they both fired.
Both horns were blown off and fell, but regenerated instantly.
“That’s too slow,†it said.
“What?†the Rangers questioned.
“Ha!†Duotar rushed them again.

Ninjor silently slashed a Metin down from behind. When his two fellows turned, the Phantom Ranger slashed one down and Paul took the other down with a slash to the chest.
“Still no response,†Paul said.
“They must have run into trouble,†the Phantom Ranger said, “One of us should go.â€
“We have our mission,†Paul reminded, “We need to keep going and trust them to get past it.â€
“What if it’s Vayne?†questioned the Phantom Ranger.
Paul was silent, “Then we destroy the Door.â€

Troy was looking away, “We need to go…,†he was smashed by Duotar, just like the others were.

“We can’t stay here much longer,†Noah said from the ground as he rose slowly, “They need us…â€
“Gia…,†Jake said, “I have an idea.â€
Duotar threw Emma back and then Gia nodded, “Do whatever you need to.â€
Jake ran and threw himself on Duotar’s back. The monster stumbled and tried to knock him off, “Go!†he shouted to the others.
Noah helped Emma up and then the two ran to Troy. Troy looked back, “Good luck!†he shouted and the three ran off.
Gia grabbed at Duotar’s arms, trying to keep them secure. He bucked Jake off and then kneed Gia back. He smashed both of them with punches, sending them stumbling.
“Spirit of the Tiger!†Gia shouted, unleashing it at Duotar. The attack smashed into him and staggered him back.
Jake span around and rammed a strong kick into Duotar’s chest, knocking him farther back. The two stood together and ran for him.
“We need to go up,†Paul said as they reached the ridge.
“Be ready for anything,†the Phantom Ranger said as they prepared to climb.
“No,†a voice behind them said. The three turned to see Argus, lifting his sword, “Vayne is waiting.â€
“Then who’s keeping the others busy? Vrak?†Paul questioned.
“Vrak’s last guard,†Argus stated, “I won’t let you face Vayne. I’ll destroy you myself!â€
Paul looked at his two comrades, “Wait here,†he said, lifting his trident as he approached Argus, “Drew, we’re going to settle things here.â€
“Do you still think you can, as you say it, save me?†Argus questioned.
“I don’t even know anymore,†Paul said, “We’ll just see what happens.â€
Paul lifted his trident silently and the two weapons touched. Both pushed forward and swung low.
The three Rangers ran through the woods and kept looking back, “I hope they’ll be ok,†Emma said.
“They’re both strong and well trained,†Troy said.
“We have to just focus on our mission,†Noah said, “That’s what they’d want.â€
A group of Metins came out of the woods in front of them. “Go right through them!†Troy shouted. He grabbed his firearm with the others and pushed through, giving quick kicks, knees and shots to drop them. The team kept going and then stopped.
Duotar was in front of them.
“They were weak,†the monster growled.
[Goseiger 46. 16:12-16:35]
“We’ll make you pay then!†Troy said as they all drew their blasters up again. They all fired and blasted both horns off, and the monster’s chest. He went down.
“That was easy,†Emma said.
“Let’s go!†Troy said as they ran.
Duotar growled as his horns regrew and his chest healed. He sat up and the Rangers stopped.
“That’s not enough to get me,†he growled, patting his chest. He swung his head, sending energy projections off of his horns, smashing them into the Rangers. They cried out and went down.
Electricity charged between the horns and flew forward. The team cried out as they were hit.
“So weak,†Duotar said, pointing at them as they went down.

“Guys!†Jake yelled as he and Gia limped through the woods. They dropped down next to their comrades.
“We did the best we could,†Gia told them.
“We can’t ask for more,†Troy said as the two helped the three of them up.
“We failed, let us make it up to you,†Jake said, “I think we can do it this time.â€
Gia nodded, “We refuse to fail again.â€
They both lifted their Morphers, “Shining Morph Card!†There was a golden flash.
[Goseiger 46. 16:53-18:45]
Both lifted their Shining Blades.
“That doesn’t matter,†one head said, “You’ll still lose,†said the second.
“Jake!†Gia said, looking to him.
“Yeah, got it,†he said.
“We’ll break both horns in one single move!†Gia said, “Then it’s over!â€
Both ran forward and shouted.
“Impossible. You can’t get that timing.†The two stopped before him.
“I don’t know if they can do it,†Noah said, “But we have to put all of our faith in them.â€
“If they can break both at once, we have our shot,†Troy said.
“Can it work though?†Emma asked.
“We’ll make it work!†Jake boasted.
“Because we’re Power Rangers!†Gia said.
“Try it then!†Duotar shouted, charging, unleashing electricity from his horns again.
Both Rangers ran through the smoke that was the aftermath of the attack and leapt forward, slashing both horns.
“Timing was off,†Gia said as the horns regenerated, “Sorry.â€
Jake put his arm around her, “We just need to communicate a bit more,†he said softly. He drew up a bit, “I’ll give the signal. This time we’ll do it for sure!â€
“Right!†she said, leaping forward and over Duotar.
“Do you think attacking from two sides is going to work?†Duotar questioned, “You can’t do that timing! Just surrender!â€
“We’ll do it!†Gia told him, then ran.
“Here we come!†Jake shouted and ran.
Both shouted as they ran, Duotar looking back and forth.
Both leapt at once and slashed as they flipped over him. His horns were broken in one move and then Jake rammed his sphere into Duotar’s chest and shouted, throwing him overhead.
“Time for the finisher Jake!†Gia said.
Both crossed the domed portions of their Shining Blades.
“Combined Earth power!†they both said at once and launched the blast forward. It smashed into Duotar and he fell, crackling. He exploded and the two Rangers turned around, their armor fading.
“You got the timing!†Jake said.
She folded her arms, “Your timing was the issue, not mine!â€

The others ran over, “Settle it later,†Noah said.
Troy nodded, “We have to move.â€
Paul and Argus continued to exchange blows, matching strike for strike. Their weapons were locked and they pushed, but got nowhere.
“You have to remember the past,†Paul told him.
“I remember it. I just don’t live in it.â€
“I don’t either,†Paul said.
“Then why do you care so much?†Argus questioned.
“Because we’re friends! Friends aren’t just the past!â€
“Maybe they are,†Argus growled, pushing him back. He lifted his sword, but faltered when Troy’s voice came over the Morpher.
“We’re almost there! Meet us at the Door!â€
Paul looked to Argus, “You still care about this planet. What is the Door?†he questioned.
Argus lowered his weapon, “It doesn’t matter. Vayne will destroy all of you. That’s how powerful he is.â€
“We’ll stop him,†Paul said, “Tell me. Please. What is the Door?â€
Argus was silent for a few moments, then nodded his head a little, “The Door is to the spirit world. Monsters will emerge and overrun this planet. It’s all over for everyone. The Door is open, but the spirit world hasn’t connected yet. In a short time it will, and then…â€
“We’ll stop it,†Paul told him.
Argus said nothing. Paul turned and ran to his two comrades, “Let’s go up!†Ninjor said, grabbing both of them and streaking up as a blue blur.

Zombats flew down, biting and enlarging Duotar.
The Rangers stood there, Troy with his hands on the two Earth Rangers, trying to calm them. The team stumbled back.
“Zords!†they called, going to Star Guard.
“Land Zords!†Jake and Gia called, summoning their three additional Zords to join the battle. They combined with the Star Guard.
“Earth Star Guard Megazord!â€
“Try this!†Duotar shouted, launching horn-like attacks. The Megazord walked through.
“We have somewhere to be!†Jake shouted.
The Megazord’s head piece began to glow and they struck the monster in the chest.
“Won’t work, I’m too strong for that,†Duotar said.
“We’ll bring you down another way!†Gia said.
The Tyrannosaurus leg came up, kicking Duotar and knocking him back.
“Let’s end this,†Jake said. Both loaded their cards.
“Drill Kick!†they shouted.
As Duotar was stunned by the cards, the team swept their arms out, “We will not let you get in our way! Drill Kick!â€
They plowed through Duotar, who fell and exploded into a shower of golden sparkles.
The Megazord stood there.

The Rangers ran through the forest and up the slope. They came to a stop when they saw the Phantom Ranger, Ninjor, and Paul on the ground with Vayne standing there. He looked at the five Rangers and shrugged, “You’re next?â€
“Now, now,†a figure said as he walked out from behind the Door, “Vayne, be careful with them. We might be able to coax some spirits out with these Rangers.â€
“Yes Zado,†Vayne said, “I’ll throw them inside and see what happens!â€
Another figure stepped out, “I quite like that,†he stated, “Let’s see how the darkness like Rangers.â€
“You again!†Jake said, pointing, “Vile!â€
Master Vile nodded, “This time you won’t be as lucky. This is going to end badly for all of you,†he told the Rangers.
The three stood there against the five Rangers. Troy looked at his allies and then back to them, “We’ll figure this out.â€
“Is that the best you can tell your allies?†Vile questioned, “No other hopeful words? Just something like that? Is the situation truly that hopeless? Well, of course it is!†He laughed, “You’re fools to challenge the natural order of things. The strong destroy the weak, and this planet and everyone on it is weaker than the great Vago Empire!â€
“We’ll change things,†Troy said, “We’ll destroy you and show that the Earth can fight back! Other planets may have fallen to the Empire, but not Earth!â€
Zado walked forward, “Every planet tries something like this. They resist, and we crush them. Either military might, or science. I’ve gotten good at finding new ways to exterminate planets and their resistance.â€
Paul twitched a little. Zado was next to him, but nobody paid any heed to the downed fighters. He clenched his fist.
“This planet will fall to a combination. My science found the Door, and then the military will overrun it. You’re all gone, like the weak, pathetic, insignificant species you are!â€
Paul grabbed Zado’s leg. Zado looked down and Paul came up, shouting. He punched Zado in the chest, knocking him into Vayne, although the red soldier just pushed Zado off of him.
“Take this!†Paul shouted, grabbing his trident and spinning. He loaded his key into it as he span and slashed with a silver slash, causing Zado to explode on impact with it.
“What?†Vile shouted.
“Now!†Troy called, rushing forward and shouting. He leapt forward and kicked Vayne in the chest, knocking him back a single step. Noah and Gia attacked Vile, who just kept moving and not engaging. Emma and Jake went to check on Ninjor and the Phantom Ranger.
Vayne laughed, “This! This is fun!†He backhanded Troy aside and threw a bolt of power into Noah and Gia, making them drop to the ground. He turned and took a slash from the Phantom Ranger to the chest and just laughed it off.
“I’ll get him!â€Ninjor called, slashing from behind, but his sword did nothing.
“I’m the strongest being in existence,†Vayne hissed, “That won’t work!â€
“Guys?†Jake asked.
Everyone stopped. Vile walked in front of the Door, “Yes! Come!â€
Shadows moved inside. A number of figures were obscured, but some were easier to see. One was a wounded Moltor (via Gokaiger suit), the Fearcats, Kamdor, and others (all via Gokaiger suits. I have a list of suits that they’d probably have access to, which will be posted at the bottom).
“Yes, come out! Come and take this Earth for us!†Vile laughed.
Vayne looked inside, “I wonder what would happen if I threw a Ranger inside…,†he muttered. He looked at the team, “Want to find out?â€
Moltor leapt out and attacked. Ninjor slashed him through the chest while Paul kicked him and then slashed him with the trident. Emma kicked him back at the Door.
Kamdor walked out and drew his swords, but combined fire from Jake, Gia and Noah pushed him back inside.
More monsters came out and were quickly pushed back inside as well.
“We can’t keep doing this!†Troy shouted. He looked at the Door and then at Vayne, who laughed as he watched. He clenched his fist on his sword. “Put them together!†he ordered.
“We’ll cover you!†the Phantom Ranger shouted, moving with Ninjor and Paul to help contain. Paul wore his Battlizer at this point.
“Do you think your combined weapon can help?†Vayne questioned, “Ha! You’re fools.â€
They aimed it at Vayne himself.
“Hm? This is interesting,†Vayne said. He threw his hands out, “Come on! Hit me!â€
“With pleasure,†Troy said. They threw their arms out, “Ha!â€
The blast slammed into Vayne’s chest and started to push him a few steps back. He just laughed, “I’ll go with it, but it won’t damage me! Pushing is not damaging!â€
Jake and Gia drew their Morphers, “Rope Plant!â€
Vines ensnared Vile who stood there, “What?†he hissed. They wrapped on the other end to Vayne, who was still being blasted back.
“No!†Vile shouted, “Vayne!â€
“What?†Vayne snapped, “Are you actually worried?â€
“Look behind you!â€
Vayne looked over his shoulder. He was in the threshold of the Door.
Then it dawned on him.
As soon as he and Vile were inside, Ninjor, Paul and the Phantom Ranger grabbed the doors and slammed them closed before they could act. They pushed themselves against it, but no resistance came from the other side.
“It’s done,†Jake said, “He’s…he’s gone.â€
“We have to seal this thing,†Troy said.
There was a clapping coming from behind them. They turned to see Vrak, clapping a little, “Inventive. You couldn’t out-fight Vayne, so you sent him into the spirit world. Very inventive. I’m not being sarcastic, well done Rangers.â€
“Vrak!†Troy shouted, lifting his sword.
“I’m not here for the Door,†he said, shaking his head, “Just know something. My father is not pleased, and thing will get worse from here. Enjoy this victory, do what you will with that Door. Just know that the end is upon you.â€
He threw his arms out and vanished in a hexagonal teleport.
The Rangers stood there with the Door behind them aner, “I know our next target,†Troy said, “Vrak needs to go.â€
“But we did good today,†Jake said, “Lighten up a little and let’s celebrate that at least!â€
They all nodded, and then Troy was the last to, “Yeah…yeah we should.â€
He turned and looked at the Door, but said nothing else.
“We should do something,†Jake said as they returned to the base.
“You mean celebrate?†Gia asked.
Jake nodded, “We did a lot today.â€
“Vrak is…,†Troy started.
“Yeah, he’s still out there. So is his father, so is Argus, so is an army. But we destroyed some important enemies today. We stopped the Door. Let’s call it a win and just celebrate!â€
Emma nodded, “He’s right. This is the first real win we’ve had in a while.â€
“It’s a win, but there’s a lot ahead of us,†Paul said, “I think we should celebrate while we can. Who knows when we could again?â€
Troy sighed, “Yeah. We did win today.†He looked at each one of them, “Let’s celebrate then. We don’t know how long this might last, but for now, we did something good. Let’s be happy about that!â€
Troy went outside, and the Phantom Ranger followed him out. The two stood by the ocean.
“I don’t know how long this celebration may last, but at least it’s something,†Troy said.
“The hardest fight may yet be ahead,†the Phantom said.
“I know. Vrak is waiting.â€
The Phantom Ranger nodded, “But we’re together again. We’ll stop Vrak and his father.â€
Troy nodded, “Yeah. We have to.â€

Duotar shouted as he struck, smashing Emma back, throwing Jake over him, head-butting Gia, throwing Noah, pushing Troy back.
“Your power is just what I need here,†Vrak said, “They can’t do anything against you. Finally.â€

“He’s so strong,†Jake muttered as he got up.
“He’s just like Quadrill, and that three headed monster at the arena,†Troy said.
“Let’s hope there’s not a five headed one,†Gia muttered.
The team came back together as Quadrill laughed, “I am the last of Master Vrak’s bodyguards, but I am the strongest! Prepare!â€
Ninjor, Paul, and the Phantom Ranger were working on their approach from another side, through some woods. Paul stopped, “I should contact the others and see where they are,†he said.
“How did you come by such a Morpher?†Ninjor was asking the Phantom.
“I made it, based on your other Morphers,†he told the ninja.
Ninjor nodded, “And you made it use all of my cards? I’m touched.â€
“Now’s not a good time,†Paul whispered back. Some Metins walked through the forest not far from them.
They remained silent as the patrol passed by. Paul drew up his Morpher again, “Guys?â€
[Goseiger 46. 6:43-7:48]
Duotar smashed the Rangers back with ease and rammed Troy.
Troy grabbed his horns and tried to hold his ground, “We have to stop him, quickly!†He was smashed back and rolled. The others came to him, calling his name.
“You should pay attention to your enemies,†one head said, “Or bad things could happen,†the other said.
Gia pointed, “Guys!â€
“His horns!†Jake said, pointing. “If we can get his horns…â€
Duotar drew his arms up, “Try me,†he growled, drawing his foot over the ground, ready to run.
“Ok then!†Jake said, running forward. He grabbed the horns as Duotar ran. Jake grunted with effort as he tried to force Duotar to slow or stop. Jake was dragged and finally managed to pull Duotar around, “Got you!†he shouted, smashing a horn off with an arm strike.
Duotar came back a bit and Jake shouted, giving him a roundhouse to roll him away.
Duotar rolled across the ground as the others converged on Jake. “Good job!†they congratulated him.
“If they think we’re that weak,†one head said, “Then they’re in for a real surprise,†the other stated.
Duotar rose and the stub of the horn glowed, becoming a new horn.
“No way!†Noah said.
“How?†Emma questioned.
“Darn it!†Jake shouted.
“We’ll have to destroy both,†Troy said.
“On it,†Noah said as he lifted his Shark Bowgun. He and Emma ran forward, lifting their personal weapons, “Ha!†they shouted as they both fired.
Both horns were blown off and fell, but regenerated instantly.
“That’s too slow,†it said.
“What?†the Rangers questioned.
“Ha!†Duotar rushed them again.

Ninjor silently slashed a Metin down from behind. When his two fellows turned, the Phantom Ranger slashed one down and Paul took the other down with a slash to the chest.
“Still no response,†Paul said.
“They must have run into trouble,†the Phantom Ranger said, “One of us should go.â€
“We have our mission,†Paul reminded, “We need to keep going and trust them to get past it.â€
“What if it’s Vayne?†questioned the Phantom Ranger.
Paul was silent, “Then we destroy the Door.â€

Troy was looking away, “We need to go…,†he was smashed by Duotar, just like the others were.

“We can’t stay here much longer,†Noah said from the ground as he rose slowly, “They need us…â€
“Gia…,†Jake said, “I have an idea.â€
Duotar threw Emma back and then Gia nodded, “Do whatever you need to.â€
Jake ran and threw himself on Duotar’s back. The monster stumbled and tried to knock him off, “Go!†he shouted to the others.
Noah helped Emma up and then the two ran to Troy. Troy looked back, “Good luck!†he shouted and the three ran off.
Gia grabbed at Duotar’s arms, trying to keep them secure. He bucked Jake off and then kneed Gia back. He smashed both of them with punches, sending them stumbling.
“Spirit of the Tiger!†Gia shouted, unleashing it at Duotar. The attack smashed into him and staggered him back.
Jake span around and rammed a strong kick into Duotar’s chest, knocking him farther back. The two stood together and ran for him.
“We need to go up,†Paul said as they reached the ridge.
“Be ready for anything,†the Phantom Ranger said as they prepared to climb.
“No,†a voice behind them said. The three turned to see Argus, lifting his sword, “Vayne is waiting.â€
“Then who’s keeping the others busy? Vrak?†Paul questioned.
“Vrak’s last guard,†Argus stated, “I won’t let you face Vayne. I’ll destroy you myself!â€
Paul looked at his two comrades, “Wait here,†he said, lifting his trident as he approached Argus, “Drew, we’re going to settle things here.â€
“Do you still think you can, as you say it, save me?†Argus questioned.
“I don’t even know anymore,†Paul said, “We’ll just see what happens.â€
Paul lifted his trident silently and the two weapons touched. Both pushed forward and swung low.
The three Rangers ran through the woods and kept looking back, “I hope they’ll be ok,†Emma said.
“They’re both strong and well trained,†Troy said.
“We have to just focus on our mission,†Noah said, “That’s what they’d want.â€
A group of Metins came out of the woods in front of them. “Go right through them!†Troy shouted. He grabbed his firearm with the others and pushed through, giving quick kicks, knees and shots to drop them. The team kept going and then stopped.
Duotar was in front of them.
“They were weak,†the monster growled.
[Goseiger 46. 16:12-16:35]
“We’ll make you pay then!†Troy said as they all drew their blasters up again. They all fired and blasted both horns off, and the monster’s chest. He went down.
“That was easy,†Emma said.
“Let’s go!†Troy said as they ran.
Duotar growled as his horns regrew and his chest healed. He sat up and the Rangers stopped.
“That’s not enough to get me,†he growled, patting his chest. He swung his head, sending energy projections off of his horns, smashing them into the Rangers. They cried out and went down.
Electricity charged between the horns and flew forward. The team cried out as they were hit.
“So weak,†Duotar said, pointing at them as they went down.

“Guys!†Jake yelled as he and Gia limped through the woods. They dropped down next to their comrades.
“We did the best we could,†Gia told them.
“We can’t ask for more,†Troy said as the two helped the three of them up.
“We failed, let us make it up to you,†Jake said, “I think we can do it this time.â€
Gia nodded, “We refuse to fail again.â€
They both lifted their Morphers, “Shining Morph Card!†There was a golden flash.
[Goseiger 46. 16:53-18:45]
Both lifted their Shining Blades.
“That doesn’t matter,†one head said, “You’ll still lose,†said the second.
“Jake!†Gia said, looking to him.
“Yeah, got it,†he said.
“We’ll break both horns in one single move!†Gia said, “Then it’s over!â€
Both ran forward and shouted.
“Impossible. You can’t get that timing.†The two stopped before him.
“I don’t know if they can do it,†Noah said, “But we have to put all of our faith in them.â€
“If they can break both at once, we have our shot,†Troy said.
“Can it work though?†Emma asked.
“We’ll make it work!†Jake boasted.
“Because we’re Power Rangers!†Gia said.
“Try it then!†Duotar shouted, charging, unleashing electricity from his horns again.
Both Rangers ran through the smoke that was the aftermath of the attack and leapt forward, slashing both horns.
“Timing was off,†Gia said as the horns regenerated, “Sorry.â€
Jake put his arm around her, “We just need to communicate a bit more,†he said softly. He drew up a bit, “I’ll give the signal. This time we’ll do it for sure!â€
“Right!†she said, leaping forward and over Duotar.
“Do you think attacking from two sides is going to work?†Duotar questioned, “You can’t do that timing! Just surrender!â€
“We’ll do it!†Gia told him, then ran.
“Here we come!†Jake shouted and ran.
Both shouted as they ran, Duotar looking back and forth.
Both leapt at once and slashed as they flipped over him. His horns were broken in one move and then Jake rammed his sphere into Duotar’s chest and shouted, throwing him overhead.
“Time for the finisher Jake!†Gia said.
Both crossed the domed portions of their Shining Blades.
“Combined Earth power!†they both said at once and launched the blast forward. It smashed into Duotar and he fell, crackling. He exploded and the two Rangers turned around, their armor fading.
“You got the timing!†Jake said.
She folded her arms, “Your timing was the issue, not mine!â€

The others ran over, “Settle it later,†Noah said.
Troy nodded, “We have to move.â€
Paul and Argus continued to exchange blows, matching strike for strike. Their weapons were locked and they pushed, but got nowhere.
“You have to remember the past,†Paul told him.
“I remember it. I just don’t live in it.â€
“I don’t either,†Paul said.
“Then why do you care so much?†Argus questioned.
“Because we’re friends! Friends aren’t just the past!â€
“Maybe they are,†Argus growled, pushing him back. He lifted his sword, but faltered when Troy’s voice came over the Morpher.
“We’re almost there! Meet us at the Door!â€
Paul looked to Argus, “You still care about this planet. What is the Door?†he questioned.
Argus lowered his weapon, “It doesn’t matter. Vayne will destroy all of you. That’s how powerful he is.â€
“We’ll stop him,†Paul said, “Tell me. Please. What is the Door?â€
Argus was silent for a few moments, then nodded his head a little, “The Door is to the spirit world. Monsters will emerge and overrun this planet. It’s all over for everyone. The Door is open, but the spirit world hasn’t connected yet. In a short time it will, and then…â€
“We’ll stop it,†Paul told him.
Argus said nothing. Paul turned and ran to his two comrades, “Let’s go up!†Ninjor said, grabbing both of them and streaking up as a blue blur.

Zombats flew down, biting and enlarging Duotar.
The Rangers stood there, Troy with his hands on the two Earth Rangers, trying to calm them. The team stumbled back.
“Zords!†they called, going to Star Guard.
“Land Zords!†Jake and Gia called, summoning their three additional Zords to join the battle. They combined with the Star Guard.
“Earth Star Guard Megazord!â€
“Try this!†Duotar shouted, launching horn-like attacks. The Megazord walked through.
“We have somewhere to be!†Jake shouted.
The Megazord’s head piece began to glow and they struck the monster in the chest.
“Won’t work, I’m too strong for that,†Duotar said.
“We’ll bring you down another way!†Gia said.
The Tyrannosaurus leg came up, kicking Duotar and knocking him back.
“Let’s end this,†Jake said. Both loaded their cards.
“Drill Kick!†they shouted.
As Duotar was stunned by the cards, the team swept their arms out, “We will not let you get in our way! Drill Kick!â€
They plowed through Duotar, who fell and exploded into a shower of golden sparkles.
The Megazord stood there.

The Rangers ran through the forest and up the slope. They came to a stop when they saw the Phantom Ranger, Ninjor, and Paul on the ground with Vayne standing there. He looked at the five Rangers and shrugged, “You’re next?â€
“Now, now,†a figure said as he walked out from behind the Door, “Vayne, be careful with them. We might be able to coax some spirits out with these Rangers.â€
“Yes Zado,†Vayne said, “I’ll throw them inside and see what happens!â€
Another figure stepped out, “I quite like that,†he stated, “Let’s see how the darkness like Rangers.â€
“You again!†Jake said, pointing, “Vile!â€
Master Vile nodded, “This time you won’t be as lucky. This is going to end badly for all of you,†he told the Rangers.
The three stood there against the five Rangers. Troy looked at his allies and then back to them, “We’ll figure this out.â€
“Is that the best you can tell your allies?†Vile questioned, “No other hopeful words? Just something like that? Is the situation truly that hopeless? Well, of course it is!†He laughed, “You’re fools to challenge the natural order of things. The strong destroy the weak, and this planet and everyone on it is weaker than the great Vago Empire!â€
“We’ll change things,†Troy said, “We’ll destroy you and show that the Earth can fight back! Other planets may have fallen to the Empire, but not Earth!â€
Zado walked forward, “Every planet tries something like this. They resist, and we crush them. Either military might, or science. I’ve gotten good at finding new ways to exterminate planets and their resistance.â€
Paul twitched a little. Zado was next to him, but nobody paid any heed to the downed fighters. He clenched his fist.
“This planet will fall to a combination. My science found the Door, and then the military will overrun it. You’re all gone, like the weak, pathetic, insignificant species you are!â€
Paul grabbed Zado’s leg. Zado looked down and Paul came up, shouting. He punched Zado in the chest, knocking him into Vayne, although the red soldier just pushed Zado off of him.
“Take this!†Paul shouted, grabbing his trident and spinning. He loaded his key into it as he span and slashed with a silver slash, causing Zado to explode on impact with it.
“What?†Vile shouted.
“Now!†Troy called, rushing forward and shouting. He leapt forward and kicked Vayne in the chest, knocking him back a single step. Noah and Gia attacked Vile, who just kept moving and not engaging. Emma and Jake went to check on Ninjor and the Phantom Ranger.
Vayne laughed, “This! This is fun!†He backhanded Troy aside and threw a bolt of power into Noah and Gia, making them drop to the ground. He turned and took a slash from the Phantom Ranger to the chest and just laughed it off.
“I’ll get him!â€Ninjor called, slashing from behind, but his sword did nothing.
“I’m the strongest being in existence,†Vayne hissed, “That won’t work!â€
“Guys?†Jake asked.
Everyone stopped. Vile walked in front of the Door, “Yes! Come!â€
Shadows moved inside. A number of figures were obscured, but some were easier to see. One was a wounded Moltor (via Gokaiger suit), the Fearcats, Kamdor, and others (all via Gokaiger suits. I have a list of suits that they’d probably have access to, which will be posted at the bottom).
“Yes, come out! Come and take this Earth for us!†Vile laughed.
Vayne looked inside, “I wonder what would happen if I threw a Ranger inside…,†he muttered. He looked at the team, “Want to find out?â€
Moltor leapt out and attacked. Ninjor slashed him through the chest while Paul kicked him and then slashed him with the trident. Emma kicked him back at the Door.
Kamdor walked out and drew his swords, but combined fire from Jake, Gia and Noah pushed him back inside.
More monsters came out and were quickly pushed back inside as well.
“We can’t keep doing this!†Troy shouted. He looked at the Door and then at Vayne, who laughed as he watched. He clenched his fist on his sword. “Put them together!†he ordered.
“We’ll cover you!†the Phantom Ranger shouted, moving with Ninjor and Paul to help contain. Paul wore his Battlizer at this point.
“Do you think your combined weapon can help?†Vayne questioned, “Ha! You’re fools.â€
They aimed it at Vayne himself.
“Hm? This is interesting,†Vayne said. He threw his hands out, “Come on! Hit me!â€
“With pleasure,†Troy said. They threw their arms out, “Ha!â€
The blast slammed into Vayne’s chest and started to push him a few steps back. He just laughed, “I’ll go with it, but it won’t damage me! Pushing is not damaging!â€
Jake and Gia drew their Morphers, “Rope Plant!â€
Vines ensnared Vile who stood there, “What?†he hissed. They wrapped on the other end to Vayne, who was still being blasted back.
“No!†Vile shouted, “Vayne!â€
“What?†Vayne snapped, “Are you actually worried?â€
“Look behind you!â€
Vayne looked over his shoulder. He was in the threshold of the Door.
Then it dawned on him.
As soon as he and Vile were inside, Ninjor, Paul and the Phantom Ranger grabbed the doors and slammed them closed before they could act. They pushed themselves against it, but no resistance came from the other side.
“It’s done,†Jake said, “He’s…he’s gone.â€
“We have to seal this thing,†Troy said.
There was a clapping coming from behind them. They turned to see Vrak, clapping a little, “Inventive. You couldn’t out-fight Vayne, so you sent him into the spirit world. Very inventive. I’m not being sarcastic, well done Rangers.â€
“Vrak!†Troy shouted, lifting his sword.
“I’m not here for the Door,†he said, shaking his head, “Just know something. My father is not pleased, and thing will get worse from here. Enjoy this victory, do what you will with that Door. Just know that the end is upon you.â€
He threw his arms out and vanished in a hexagonal teleport.
The Rangers stood there with the Door behind them aner, “I know our next target,†Troy said, “Vrak needs to go.â€
“But we did good today,†Jake said, “Lighten up a little and let’s celebrate that at least!â€
They all nodded, and then Troy was the last to, “Yeah…yeah we should.â€
He turned and looked at the Door, but said nothing else.
“We should do something,†Jake said as they returned to the base.
“You mean celebrate?†Gia asked.
Jake nodded, “We did a lot today.â€
“Vrak is…,†Troy started.
“Yeah, he’s still out there. So is his father, so is Argus, so is an army. But we destroyed some important enemies today. We stopped the Door. Let’s call it a win and just celebrate!â€
Emma nodded, “He’s right. This is the first real win we’ve had in a while.â€
“It’s a win, but there’s a lot ahead of us,†Paul said, “I think we should celebrate while we can. Who knows when we could again?â€
Troy sighed, “Yeah. We did win today.†He looked at each one of them, “Let’s celebrate then. We don’t know how long this might last, but for now, we did something good. Let’s be happy about that!â€
Troy went outside, and the Phantom Ranger followed him out. The two stood by the ocean.
“I don’t know how long this celebration may last, but at least it’s something,†Troy said.
“The hardest fight may yet be ahead,†the Phantom said.
“I know. Vrak is waiting.â€
The Phantom Ranger nodded, “But we’re together again. We’ll stop Vrak and his father.â€
Troy nodded, “Yeah. We have to.â€
