Post Civil War Talkback - *SPOILERS*

At long last Civil War has come to a close. And though this may have been a fictional event I feel glorified in knowing that even after months of my fellow Justicers saying other wise... My side won. At the conclusion of a climactic battle Cap surrendered to the Police realizing that Captain America was not the person seen as a criminal, Steve Rodgers was. Amnesty was given to a vast majority of Heroes from the anti-reg camp and Tony was promoted to head of SHIELD (Saw this one coming) laying to rest fears that the heroes would be SHIELDS lackeys. Frank Castle took the mask that Cap left at the fight. The "Initiative" was set into place giving each state it's own super hero team (As opposed to NY being a primary base for all the teams) certain heroes still remain on the lame not having accepted Amnesty (Luke Cage cause thats his schtik & Spidey too boost his sales). The T-Bolts are Colorados Hero Team. and the FF4 now consists of Torch, Thing, Storm and ....... T'Challa (Shudder) as sue and reed take time to repair thier marriage. .... now time for some pictures.

What became of that Clone that Mark Millar introduced with absolutly no lead in and his only purpose was for the anti-reg camp to have a smoking gun.... well, http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v116/kaijumaster/scan001001-2.jpg lets just say he was taken care of effeciantly, although FF4 showed that the real THOR is back.... I was hoping for a showdown.

What was it that finally snapped Cap out of his 1940's Me and T'Challa are God & Jesus mindset?

And in the aftermath of it all. The people who stated that a unified Hero force (Which DC has been successfully pulling off for decades) would lead to them being used as SHIELDS puppets, And indeed MAria Hill did try that stunt on Wonder Man when he first registered..... well, they can rest easy.

So even though the series stumbled (My personal opinions on Mark Millar and the clone aside) and issue 5 & 6 didn't really take the story much of anyplace... and EVEN though marvel really had trouble handling the continuity of the tie-in books (Black Panther.... GOD it's so self-rightous & acts as though it's the main tie in book rather than an add on the make up for CW # 4's delay) All in all it was a great series that unlike last years infinite crisis seems to be looking to have reprecusions for years to come, but for now peace is had in the Marvel universe.........

That's interesting how it turned out, but I bet it'll all be undone in a few months/years by the revelation that Tony was actually replaced by a Skrull all along, or the "regular everyday people" that tackled Cap are really clones of Spider-Man, or something. Or it all gets undone by Superboy-Prime punching the walls of reality.

Maybe I just need to stay away from scans_daily.

This is why I yern for the days of Marv Wolfman and Frank Miller. THEY knew how to write a story, where the heroes where heroes and the bad guys where bad guys... (sighs)

I dunno, like I said on the front page I have to hand it to Marvel. Back in my days of jamming on a lot of DC and Marvel what big event that happened that they said would change everything never ended up changing anything.

This... Spidey giving up his identity and all these heroes having to join a team and Captain America standing down... that's a lot you can't take back and probably shouldn't because that was a pretty outstanding way to go.

I remember listening to several podcasts and they all said, "You know.... I'm all for Cap, but if this was the real world.... I'd have to side with Iron Man."

Practically speaking yeah... Iron Man's right. You can't just have people running about doing whatever they want.

And they up and did it!

Hat's off to Marvel. I'm interested to hear how it's all going to turn out. That and if they can keep up this world busting pace with World War.

Actually, Mega Ranger...well, let me let Marvel say it best.

Marvel's Solicitations for The Initiative #1 said:
Whose side were you on? Well, if you were pro-registration, then there's one hell of a price to pay. You're in the army now. Every last one of you.

Yes, that's right. Every single one of them has been drafted. They ARE puppets for the US military after all. The entire point of the registration act was to give the US a super-powered army.

Tony's their lead now tho, right? I don't see him letting the government use the super heroes in any kind of unjust war or let be abused.

Tony's a good alcoholic man of honor.

He appointed The Green Goddamn Goblin to lead a team of superheroes that includes Venom and Bullseye. You sure about that? :)

Honestly, if you read all the solicitations, there's a big comic coming out with Daily Bugle reporters finding out the "true reasons for registration." Whatever's happening now that the war is over, the debate isn't, and I don't think it's going to turn out in a way Mega Ranger would like. I still stand by my stance that not just pro-reg but the whole STORY is stupid.

But then, I despise Millar and Bendis, and this is their baby.

Great....gov't runned super soldiers...there are not heroes if they are controlled by the gov't. They are just their puppets now. I hope things get a reset for this...cause... I agree with VengeanceGOD, this all sucks.

There won't be a reset...but I'd be willing to bet in ten years there'll be a group of writers that hate things like Spidey being unmasked as much as Quesada and Co. hate him being married.
