Possible American Olympics Broadcast change?

There's word around the US that Disney, via ABC & the ESPN family of networks, might take away the US broadcasting rights of the Olympics after London from the NBC family of networks.

My opinion: bad idea!

NBC NEEDS the Olympics to stay relevant here in US broadcasting. And having most of the ESPN networks broadcasting the Olympics would be torture.

I pray it isn't so.

As sucky as NBC's coverage is of the Beijing olympics (by overhyping Shawn Johnson more than Michael Redd), Disney already dominates the sporting market, save for MLB (which belongs to Fox). It's just gonna be worse if Disney handles it, because they might decide that Monday Night Football or NASCAR is more important than the sporting events in the Olympics.
