Poltergeist Revisits This Mortal Plane Through TV Series

Poltergeist is still a firecracker of a film, and a lot of people make a habit of watching it every Halloween season. Of course with any landmark film comes a wave of imitators, some bearing the actual name. There were sequels that attempted to continue the Poltergeist story, just as there were for The Exorcist and many other scary movies that weren’t so scary the second time around. There was also a remake of the original Poltergeist in 2015, the marketing of which focused entirely on the clown.

Are they absolutely sure they want to remake this movie into a TV show? Because the Poltergeist movie is such a cursed movie. It's eerie how nearly every person in the original cast is no longer with us. Every single actor and actress, including the lead child actress, met untimely ends. Most actors from the '80s are still alive, but everyone from the original Poltergeist movie is gone. It's like a dark cloud hanging over the film. Are they certain they want to take this risk and remake such a cursed movie?

Jeepers, that curse is seriously eerie! I can't believe how it affected everyone in the original Poltergeist cast. I mean, the fact that even Heather O'Rourke, the child actress who was the lead, passed away so young, not even reaching her teenage years, is just tragic. It's like this movie has some dark energy around it. Remaking it as a TV show seems like tempting fate. They better tread carefully with this one.

Poltergeist is such a timeless gem, you know? It's one of those films that still gives me the creeps, and watching it during Halloween season is a must. But honestly, I'm a bit skeptical about this TV series idea. I mean, the original film had this unique vibe, and I'm not sure if it can be captured in a weekly series. They already tried it with Poltergeist: The Legacy, and it was a bit of a letdown. But hey, with Amazon's backing, who knows what they could do? I hope they stay true to the original's essence and deliver some spine-tingling moments.

Yikes, that curse surrounding the original Poltergeist movie is giving me the creeps. It's not just Heather O'Rourke; the whole cast seems to have been touched by something sinister. Dominique Dunne, who played the older sister, was tragically murdered. And Julian Beck, the creepy preacher from the sequel, also met an untimely end. It's like a dark cloud hanging over them. Remaking the movie into a TV show feels like inviting the supernatural to wreak havoc. They've got to be super cautious with this, or who knows what might happen.

You know, I find it interesting that they want to make a Poltergeist TV series again. I mean, the original film was a classic, no doubt about it. But those sequels and the 2015 remake, well, they weren't as spooky. The '90s series, Poltergeist: The Legacy, didn't have much to do with the movie, and I remember it being a bit of a letdown. Now, with Amazon involved, there's potential. They did pretty well with "The Rings Of Power," so maybe they can do justice to Poltergeist. But it's all up in the air at this point, just a concept.

I'm really curious about the story behind why this movie is considered so cursed. Can you tell me more about it?

Well, you see, the curse of the Poltergeist movie is tied to a series of unfortunate events involving cast members. Heather O'Rourke, the young lead actress, tragically died at just 12 years old due to a misdiagnosed medical condition. Dominique Dunne, who played the older sister, was murdered by her ex-boyfriend shortly after the film's release. Julian Beck, who played the sinister preacher in the sequel, succumbed to cancer. Plus, Will Sampson, who had a role in the second film, died during a heart-lung transplant surgery. These eerie occurrences have contributed to the belief that the film is cursed, and it's hard not to wonder if there's something more to it.

Heather O'Rourke would have been 47 years old by now if she didn't die. Imagine what would her career would have achieved if she is still alive.
