Pirates of the Caribean: Dead Man's Chest [SPOILERS!!!]

I didn't love it or hate it, but Jesus H. Christ, someone find the editor who couldn't bring himself to cut that bloated monstrosity down to a less interminable length and KILL HIM BEFORE HE DOES IT AGAIN. Seriously, they could have lost 40 minutes easily and it wouldn't have hurt the film at all, and the pacing would have been much better. And it's not like I've got ADD or anything-- this is coming from a guy who eagerly went to LOTR Trilogy Tuesday. Hell, Trilogy Tuesday didn't feel as long as POTC:DMC.

I think I'll wait for the third movie to come out on DVD. I think I liked the first one better.

Chow Yun-fat is going to be in the third one. :buttrock:

And I don't Buttrock for just anybody.

I heard that, but.... I've rarely seen the coolness of Chow Yun-fat properly untilized in an American movie. Here's for hoping that his coolness comes through in the third.

Sorry about the lack of spoiler tag, VGD! I usually assume that if it's a movie talkback thread that there are spoilers gonna be in it.

I think Chow Yun-fat is always ridiculously cool, and he's just so cool that the US movies he's in look that much worse because he's just so cool that it's cool. Like if Bullet Proof Monk had been made with SWS and... say... David Carradine, everybody would've been like "Whoah! Cool movie!" but since it was The Chow, everybody expects the makers to have their **** together and they just don't.

And yeah I think every movie that comes out these days could be shortened by at least half an hour and not lose anything. Directors have forgotten the concept of multiple viewings and tried to make everything as drawn-out and "epic" as possible, when long does not = epic. The insane lengths just make it harder for people who do want to watch it multiple times.

It's ok, I'm easy to please. I remember at the time thinking SWS's martial arts were pretty damn cool, but that was before I'd seen, say, Extreme Heist.
