Well that's where the supposed distinction between the other MMORPGs and TOR (The Old Republic) comes in. BioWare promises story over any other aspect in the game. They say that there is so much content in the game that it exceeds all the content from all the games they have made combined. Moreover, they say that there are more characters, plots, and choice than both KOTOR 1&2 put together. Those are big claims, but BioWare usually does great with their games, so I'm interested nonetheless.Even with all the flaws, I would take KOTOR2 over this any day. The problem with MMO's, WoW included, is that there is no sense of accomplishment. You just keep doing quests over and over and over. There is nothing to look forward to just another quest. When I play Console rpgs, I know I am working towards a goal. And in the end, there will be some big pay off.
It's rather funny that all of those claims hint toward an amazing one player game, but it's an MMORPG instead. Bummer. It would have been cool to just be able to play a story mode with some online multiplayer on the side. That would have been enough for me. Wait, I don't even care for online as far as KOTOR is involved.
The thing I hate is that no matter how successful the game is, the "KOTOR" plot is so ruined. TOR isn't even an continuation; they've completely fast forwarded 1000 years or so later, utterly throwing the original plot out of the window that was left unfinished and desired by nearly all fans, might I add. I think I'm always gonna hate them for this unless a "KOTOR 3" (continuation of KOTOR2) is made sometime in the future.
