Parse error.

I've been getting a parse error a few times now.


Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_BOOLEAN_OR in /home/henshinj/public_html/forums/includes/functions_newpost.php(414) : eval()'d code on line 8

I post and the site returns me to a window with my post in it, like a "new post" page, but my post actually does get accepted and posted and this new page that appears has that error.

It's not a major inconvenience, but it's weird and it could mean that there is another problem elsewhere.

I got the same mistake today morning. It's definitely not just you, at least.

Thankfully the posts still go through, but it's somewhat annoying, I agree.

I haven't had it happen, nor have the staff had it reported before.

I'll say the same thing I always say when a website starts freak out for people. Clear your cache & cookies on your browser, close and then restart it.

See if that fixes the problem. And let us know if that works or not.

I haven't gotten it myself, but I've been seeing a number of posts being duplicated, starting about the same time this was reported, so I don't know if it's related.

As an update, as I've now gotten the error myself. And I now firmly believe that it's related to the double posts.

Given that it's implying that my post didn't go through when I got the parse error, it looks like the error is somewhere so that it's a) not correctly refreshing the forum view after you make a post, and b) trying to post twice at once. I'm assuming that many of the double posts are people not realizing that their post did indeed go through the first time (which I confirmed that mine did while I was uploading the screenshot), and posting again.

[edit] Just got it again, posting this. Weird that I had no problems, and then two in a row.

I get this too. I try to post a message, but I get a notice saying that I have to wait 30 seconds between posts. Yet my post got through anyway. It's as if the site thought I was doubleposting.
