Dunno if anyone made a thread about this yet...

Has anyone seen this yet?

It's fantastic, horrifying, terrifying and insane all at the same time. I had goosebumps and was (slightly) shaking in disbelief when it was over...

It is NOT a film for the young or those who lose bowel control easily as the suspense alone can rattle you.

I could rant on but it is definately worth a watch.

Surprised no one has posted about this yet.

Fucking scary. On the edge of my seat for the whole movie, only calming down slightly during the daytime parts... Then the night comes again.

The first time I saw it with my girlfriend, my brother and his girlfriend, it was pretty creepy and scary. Had us jumping and gripping each other (more so her grapping me), and I'm not one to get scared easily. Like Shuuyu said, we calmed down for the day parts but the night always came back. What made it terrifying for a lot of people was that the boyfriend was a total asshole and dickhead throughout the movie, and having him that way at the beginning set people up thinking it was funny. What was more scary about it is that when we all went to our homes, we couldn't sleep, because it kept us on edge.

However, my girlfriend and I went to see it again tuesday and it became more of a comedy because we expected and knew when everything happened. In fact, our entire theater was laughing.

I wasn't scared one bit, I was let down by the two year hype. If anything when walking into the movie I was scared of being scared, but it failed to deliver. My girlfriend wasn't scared, my horror nut friend was let down like me, my brother wasn't scared, my other friend wasn't scared but had fun scaring people in the theater, and their girlfriends were almost asleep by the end. Honestly some of the tropes just felt too cliche' for my tastes. To be fair though, parts were a bit creepy like when Katie couldn't be found, but creepy is nowhere near scary. And how easily terrified my theater was kind of destroyed the mood. "AGHHH BLANKET MOVED SCARIEST **** IN THE WORLD ME AND HALF THE THEATER WILL SCREAM AT THE TOP OF OUR LUNGS LIKE AN ANNOYING TARD NOW"

HOWEVER I could see how it could scare people, especially if you're afraid of darkness and things you can't see. You know that feeling that someone is watching you sleep but nothing is in the room.

As a movie I would say it was pretty decent, nothing too spectacular though. The characters did feel real though but pissed me off, mainly because I hate those types of people. Stupid bitches with ZERO self assertion and stubborn manchild bros. Although Micah did seem like a pretty cool guy at some parts. So in short, Paranormal Activity? More like the Blair Bitch Broject.

I for one preferred the original ending shown at film festivals a couple years prior over this ending. Although this ending gave the demon a sense of purpose, the original was far more creepy (and intriguing). But the original ending just made the demon nothing more than a gigantic troll from hell. Actually from the sounds of it the original cut of the movie (where the hauntings were in random order instead of slowly getting more intense) sounds like they intended for the demon just to be a giant troll.
