Last week I had to do an essay on moral panics, where the media takes a group/ problem/ issue, and sensationalises/ exaggerates/ fabricates information about it to create a panic in the public. Part of it I had to talk about the panic about immigration, including a headline from a tabloid newspaper (The Sun) about Immigrants 'eating the Queen's Birds' (swans), and the usual stereotypes/ stealing our jobs etc.
I thought it wasn't as bad any more, but today I noticed this headline at a service station:
"IMMIGRANTS BRING MORE CRIME"

It's bad enough they print crap like this, but how is it legal for them to have the title 'The World's Greatest Newspaper' under the name?
