OK... recommend me some horror movies!

Are you guys serious? The Exorcist? C'mon... I mean it's a good movie and all, but how it would be deemed "scary" beyond those that object to the taboo subject matter gets me. A much, much scarier movie based on a "true" story is the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Grittier than an Oklahoma driveway.

I guess different people find different things scary. Some prefer the visual stuff. Others prefer it when their minds are fooled around with. Kinda like how some people prefer the American over the Japanese version of the Ring and vice versa.

For the record, I prefer the Japanese over the American version in that instance.

And The Exorcist was the ONLY horror movie to actually keep me awake the whole night after watching it. I actually was afraid to sleep...

The Amityville Horror is the only movie I've ever had to watch with the lights on. I first saw it when I was like 15... and it still freaks me out to this day.

I love horror movies,, but the only one that scared me was Silent Hill, but back in the day Poltergist scared me . Well, the end of the movie scared me.

John Carpenter's The Thing is one of the only movies I have ever seen that combines gore and suspense so that each is effective and neither is downplayed. If that makes sense. What I mean is, the suspense and gore work together PERFECTLY. Highly recommended.

-GeGeGe no Kitaro (It is not necesarily horror and Kitaro is played by Eiji Wentz but I think it is more than fitting for halloween)
