I don't really see any sort of open ended Inception style ending from the movie, considering (do we still need hide tags?)

While this definitely has my vote, it's unlikely to happen since it'll defeat Blake/Robin's purpose. Terry is definitely the best person to replace Bruce to wear the mantle of Batman, but so does Jean-Paul Valley... But the latter would leave a very dark open-ending since we all know how Jean-Paul treated his responsibility as Batman. Now that you mentioned it though, it would be better if Nolan just treated the Blake revelation in the ending as that of Terry instead of Robin, since it'll make sense for the mantle of Batman to be passed on to him instead of Robin/Nightwing (Though Dick Grayson did become Batman in "Battle of the Cowl", but Tim Drake's history is much more similar to Blake's), which would leave a lot of options for future spinoffs and to continue the Batman legacy.

Well Nolan said he's not doing anymore Batman movies, and even though Robin takes over at the end, the franchise will (eventually) be rebooted and to be honest, i'm not sure how interesting a Robin or Nightwing movie would be. Batman Beyond seems perfect to me

- People will be tired of Batman, we've had 7 movies of varying quality
- Batman Beyond allows them to keep a familiar franchise and put a completely fresh twist on things (set in the future, with a Blade Runner style
- Bruce Wayne will now be an older mentor, not the hero. And fans will still have an established character to get excited for
- The themes and stories pretty much write themselves (how has Gotham changed in the future? Did Bruce Wayne make a difference? What is his legacy? How does Alfred's death affect Bruce? How does Terry McGinnis handle this pressure?)
- And people forget, Terry McGinnis was a really interesting character. He was completely the opposite of Bruce, he loved to banter and make jokes, he tried to have an active social life and was a legitimate badass at the same time
- There's room for a lot more humor
- And if they want to, the can add the part where Terry is Bruce's biological son (but I didn't like that story)

What I've seen is that we will definately have more eventually, just not with Nolan at the helm. Also, the franchise will not reboot for a good long while because one thing people are tired of seeing is Batman's origin story- one of the best known in western culture out of all western superheroes.

Either they will quit for a long time until someone decides to redo Batman in ten- twnety years or someone else will pick up where this one left off and keep going- most likely since these films made so much money.

Great ideas, but if this goes this way, you've got to honor what's already there & work out of the comics. What we know is that Robin dies at some point & that no one really likes Robin due to every incarnation's odd relationship with Batman... and the Scheumacher films. What's also most likely is moving into the scifi-ish Batman villains in a slightly more futuristic Gotham (hopefully keeping the time & effort that went into setting up the first three films in mind) Mainly because the only realistic Batman villains left are the ones presumably still alive (Scarecrow, Joker, Catwoman & Talia Al'Ghul) The Riddler & Penguin. If any of these were done, it'd be hard to keep it new & fresh.

Generally, I'd opt for, maybe, one that's only just over the fringe in that respect. Maybe a new take on Mr. Freeze? I can't think of any other that wouldn't take a while of setting Gotham's collective mindset or technology level up correctly first...

My point exactly, it would really have been perfect if Blake's real name was revealed to be Terry, it would really cement Nolan's legacy and discourage future reinterpretations of Batman (eventhough anybody who WB allows to, can do so), since this Batman is definitely the most accurate for me, specially when it comes to his personal struggle. Though I disagree with your point on not wanting Terry being Bruce's biological son, since if Justice League hasn't been done by then, this is possibly the link to Miranda Waller and the Justice League. Kind of like how they did it with the cartoon, a post show revealing an old Miranda with the info (memory is a bit fuzzy so correct me if I'm wrong).

well, rest assured that this is the last Batman's movie by Nolan starred by Christian Bale. The only way for the Batman movie to continue is by being retooled. Nolan himself said about TDKR being his last Batman's movie.

For now, I'm waiting for the confirmation of Batman's movie being retooled so DC can start compiling cast for a Justice League movie.

Can't say I was too big a fan of this movie. I said so on FB that I don't like this stripped down Batman, with all its fantasy and fun elements taken away. This film was so serious that seeing Batman felt actually jarring and the rare times we saw Batman felt out of place.

I loved that it had Talia! That I thought was fantastic. Great twist that did some cred to the Batman mythos.

But that was another problem. I felt Avengers and John Carter were better at things I love most, like world building. I didn't feel that a Batman Universe or mythology was established. Batman Begins is my favorite that seemed like it was the start, but TDK and TDKR just stripped it down further and further.

I want a Batman where Etrigan could be around the corner, where Killer Croc could be waiting. I want the Batman from the last two video games, basically. The Detective, the world, and the fun.

i would really like to see beyond movie... its kinda a fresh take on the franchise but i wouldn't pass the opportunity for a justice league movie.

while it seems far-fetched, a JL movie coming off from this nolanverse could be a good thing. bale might be DC/WB's answer to disney/marvel's RDJ... a movie as big as JL needs someone to anchor it. while some may argue that the avengers is an ensemble of marvel's movies, it still helmed by ironman.
