Nip/Tuck - Season 4

Skyknight

Lurker
Premiere is September 5th.

I've seen the one minute preview promo on the Myspace profile for the series, the basics are that Julia is almost ready to have the baby she confirmed in the third season, Kimber has cut herself away from Christian and is trying to help out Matt with his own problems as a psychiatrist (I know exactly what's going to happen there without looking at spoilers), not much else has been revealed explicitly about the direction this season will take.

Don't you mean Season 4?

And I still have to watch all of Season 3 >______________<;;;

The show rocks, I love it so fucking much.

I was kinda hoping that Brooke Shields would last more than one episode and be the woman the held off Christian's advances for at least most of the season.

Shawn and Julia's kid having that dactyl thing....... ouch. That is gonna put on an interesting strain.

Damn shame that Julia's spa storyline pretty much goes up in smoke, tho. That was a pretty interesting angle for her. Didn't Liz work there and leae Troy/Macnemara?

And what is WITH this show's obssession with showing man-ass?????

Wonder how the show is going to handle itself being owned by fwickin J.R. No doubt the boys are going to have to go head to head with their owners, Christian will sleep with that guys wife and then they'll have J.R. by the balls and they have their business sold back to them.

This should be an interesting season, but I hope Brooke is on for more.

The show has been renewed for a fifth and supposedly final season. Murphy was hoping to end it with this season (which explains the future episode set in 2026 spelling it out to the fans what WILL happen, and why Escobar is the show's nemesis once more), but he feels that it can go one more.

I personally think five is a good number, and with Richardson gone now, Julia is hard to replace, they should use the final season to settle the score with The Carver.

Whoa, really?? Where did you read this? I didn't know that Nip/Tuck had a finite run, although it is a good idea. Show like this could really sputter out and jump the shark.

Who's Richardson? Julia?

With her gone I feel like the Sean character can actually have some fun. With her around it was just waiting for him to have another breakdown. :P

Yeah, her daughter is very ill in the UK, so she's been forced to leave to take care of her. She'll remain credited until the season is over, but she's gone. The future episode was written as a way of showing what happens later, it's a nice way of closing out something they may never finish.

A fifth season will probably introduce Sean's new lover (he's married to someone else in 2026), but Christian seemingly stays single, so that engaement to Michelle might not last. I hope the Carver's brought back to at least tie up loose ends from the CSI-style third season, which this season seems to have all but disowned, following on more from the first two seasons. Pressure from Fox probably made the show take that near shark-jump, but the ratings skyrocketed thanks to the Carver arc, so I guess this was the reward the show got...to go back to it's original roots.

Good to see his "son" Wilbur back, but tommrow's episode (the penulitmate one of the season) looks pretty dramatic.

At what point did they know they'd have to write her off the show? Where are you getting this news?

When her only child Daisy was born 15 years ago, actress Joely Richardson was torn between going back to work and being a mother.

She chose work and made her way the top of her game as a highly-paid star of one of American's most popular television dramas, Nip/Tuck.

However Miss Richardson has now stunned producers of the show by telling them she is quitting to return to the UK to care for her daughter.

She has revealed for the first time that Daisy has a rare medical condition which she was diagnosed with shortly after her first birthday.

The teenageer is due to undergo a series of operations on her legs after gradually developing circulation problems in her veins over the years.

The condition, which Miss Richardson, 41, has never spoken of before, is understood to weaken the valves and walls of the veins making them less efficient at circulating blood back to her heart.

"Surgeons and hospitals have been a big part of our lives. We were always told that she would have to have more surgery when she got older. The time has come," the actress revealed.

Speaking of her departure from the plastic surgery drama, she said: "What the future holds, nobody can say. It's all up in the air. And I don't know if I will ever be here (in Hollywood) again.

"I love my work. But I had to be in two places at once and I thought, 'If it were all over tomorrow, what would I regret?' It would be not being there for her.

"It had to be done but it was scary."

Joely, who spends six months of the year in London and six months in Los Angeles, added she felt rather concerned that she had not forewarned producers of the show: "You think, 'Oh my God, are they going to sue me?"

Nip/Tuck creator Ryan Murphy said: "It was sad, but Joely came before her character. The dynamic of the show changed with the difficulty of what she was going through (personally), plus what she is going through on the show this season playing the mother of a deformed baby. That said, Joely is the best she has ever been."

Murphy said he was praying the actress would make it back for the next season of the show: "I don't want to do the show without her," he said.

Miss Richardson, who earns £3 million a year from Nip/Tuck, is divorced from Daisy's father, film producer Tim Bevan, but they still get on and share custody.

Miss Richardson, the daughter of Vanessa Redgrave and the late Tony Richardson, plays highly-strung mother, Julia in the series. She has also dated her co-star John Hensley, who curiously plays her teenage son Matt, despite being only 12 years younger than her.

Despite having achieved success on both sides of the Atlantic - notable roles include the film Maybe Baby and the BBC adaptation of Lady Chatterley's Lover - Miss Richardson's love-life has not gone as smoothly.

At the age of 24 she embarked on a fling with Scottish landowner Archie Stirling who was more than twice her age and also married to actress Diana Rigg.

Stirling subsequently chose his wife and teenage daughter Rachael over Miss Richardson, leaving her distraught.

In 1992, she married director Bevan, co-founder of Working Title, the studio behind Bridget Jones's Diary.

Bevan left her for 24-year-old Amy Gadney and Miss Richardson filed for divorce in 1997. A fling with Robbie Williams and a year-long romance with television presenter Jamie Theakston followed.
