Next No More Heroes won't be on Wii

Damn that sucks. Even though I don't own any next gen consoles, it's a shame to see something that was specifically engineered to be a Wii exclusive be sucked up my Microsoft. No More Heroes only serves as a model for other games to follow the trend, which is going to suck a lot for Wii owners, unless they like those gimmicky "mini-games" that third party companies keep releasing for the mass "casual gamers".

Nintendo better do something, like add a "graphics card upgrade expansion chip" or something if they want to keep these franchises. Otherwise, the Wii would be reduced to a mere toy.

Aren't gaming systems toys anyway?

I'm not really too saddened by this. I'm all for spreading the love for No More Heroes. And besides, Desparete Struggle hasn't even come out yet. Let's just concentrate on that entry.

*shrug*

I have all three systems anyways, and No More Heroes wasn't really screaming out Wii only from a gameplay perspective.

Idk about you, but I liked the Wrestling moves and Wiimote slashing finishers. Wont feel the same with button mashing and/or analog flicking.

I like the wii controls for the most part. Small waggles like in Mario Galaxy are fun, but when you get to games like Dragon Quest Swords... It falls apart. I was really excited for dragon quest swords, but in the end it was pretty boring. There was so much limitation to what you could really do.

Eh. Just as I feared. I wonder about Wii's future especially with its limits. With 360 and PS3 joining in the trend with the motion sensors, I wonder how long it will stay on top.

It'll probably remain on top, The Thing wii has over its competitors is that its Motion Controller is its Main controller, not an Add on as the others will be. And if they Did end up packing it in with their newer systems, they'll have to increase the price, which wont exactly look pleasing to consumers.

Plus Nintendo is always in the tech of doing a step above the competition inform of control innovation. I'm interesting in what the Vitality sensor might bring to the Table, especially in Survivor Horror games.

After-launch peripherals rarely have the consumer penetration necessary to be adopted as standard. The few exceptions are things like the pre-DualShock dual-analog controller, where developers adopted it universally, and you were kind of screwed if you didn't have one. Wii Motion Plus seems to partially be getting this level of support. Remains to be seen how it works out.

I'm not seeing Natal and Sony's offering having that kind of developer support. Add in the increase in price, and it's just a different competition. Apples and oranges. Unless Natal and Sony's offering are around $40-50, I'm not seeing it as taking off all that well. But then again, people pay over $100 for RockBand.

The only games I've played that actually are improved by Wii control were Resident Evil 4, Boom Blox, and Wii Gold/Tennis/Tiger Woods. And generally, as shown in the Resident Evil example, most mechanics could be done outside of Wii motion control with very little problem.

I'm interesting in what the Vitality sensor might bring to the Table, especially in Survivor Horror games.
This made me laugh a tiny bit inside. That will probably be the most useless peripheral from a gaming perspective since the Power Glove.

I agree with this entirely. People need to stop crying about the Wii's limitations.

The motion controls need to be optional for players that want to play the games like they did on previous consoles, and making it mandatory is alienating that fanbase that have played like that since day one. It would be like a car dealership coming to your house, stealing your old car and replacing it with a newer car with a completely new setup that's foreign to you.

Is that so hard to ask?
