sickened? Hardly. I cant wait to see the new trailer. I appreciate and enjoy Bay's perception and direction on the film; That he's trying for a more realistic movie than just a huge fan-service, toy commercial. That doesnt mean I will like that movie, I might end up hating it. But Im optimistic about it and all I ask is that there be giant fucking robots blowing **** up. If it's got that then it's great to me.

I want to enjoy myself in the theater, there is simply no point is being judgemental over the movie this early.

They don't understand the fundimental basics of what makes a movie like this...a movie based on what it will be, people DON'T-FUCKING-WANT REALISM IN A FUCKING MOVIE THEATRE, they want the defiance of reality and all that can occur within it, Transformers fits that catergory perfectly

I do. All Im saying, is if I see an elf or a giant robot, I want it to look believable in it's own sense. I dont want his ears to be giant and floppy, making him look like a Mall-Elf, and I dont want the robot to be blocky and painted in bright colors, looking like a giant walking toy. I want a sense of realism attached to it, I want to be able to -believe- that this world could exist in some way.

Besides I think it's even more ludicrous that some people can hate this movie based on a premise and production art, without seeing anything of the movie at all. Not a trailer, not clips, nothing. You've already decided you hated it. That's just a little backwards.

Where as I'm willing to admit that this movie could suck but Im not going to judge it based on art or the choice of directors. I like the designs, I like the angle he's going in, this is a premise that will appeal to EVERYONE, not just fanboys of the TV show and Comics.

Bottom line is people who dont know TF or dont care, will probably want to see this movie because it's style appeals to them. The production firm has to make it's money back and it wont do that by simply making a huge remake of G1, with blocky bots and mass shifting. People (non trans fans) wont take it seriously.

Bay wants people to take this movie seriously, he wants the average Joe to know this isnt a "toy commercial", that he's trying to make this a good action flick. I love that attitude, and if you dont then Im sorry you cant enjoy a movie.

Garren, you're just going to be in the minority on this one. SO many TF fans dreamed for years of seeing that gleaming red semi on the screen...and it didn't have blue flames on it >_> And the upset over this film goes far beyond the mechanical design (which SEVERELY hurts the toy design), into the voices for the characters, the direction of the film as more "human based" (as the transformers being invading aliens instead of the war-torn and maniacal characters we've all come to love), and just the whole vibe of the project.

Of course we're all going to see it, and if we like it, well, I'll eat my hat. It will probably be a good explosion, fast-paced summer movie, but I doubt it will be a really good Transformers movie. Spielberg summoned up its doom best in pre-production....

I know Im in the minority but I grew up loving this show too, I've always wanted to see a live action movie, I'm just grateful we are getting one done the right way. It boils down to just wanted different types of movies. This is the type of movie I want (concept wise). I could very well eat my own words and hate the movie though. But Im remaining optimistic.

Of course we're all going to see it, and if we like it, well, I'll eat my hat.

I will be shocked and surprised if you or anyone else "likes" this movie after all the bashing and hating. Chances are that if you hate it now, hate the director, hate the actors, hate the concept, and have nothing good to say about this premise, then you wont like this movie. Why? Because while the movie may turn out good, most Trans-Fans (who hate this movie) will go into that theater looking for anything to justify their opinion. They've already formed their opinion, they've already decided that they hate this movie, so now they'll be going into that movie theater looking for anything to confirm their opinion, anything to justify it. They wont be trying to simply watch and enjoy the movie, they'll be ready to find any flaw.

That's how it works, this is why its not good to form a strong opinion like that so early. We're finally going to see a trailer of this movie tomorrow (or maybe midnight tonight! I seriously hope so!!), maybe that trailer will show everyone "wow this movie is going to rock" or maybe it will show people like me "wow... this is going to suck".

So thank god we'll have a trailer soon to get a better idea of what to expect next summer.

I agree with Neoboy. I think Michael Bay in general is a great director to make explosive action movies, but when it comes to making a movie where the storyline stays close to the original story or even remotely captures the same mood, he fails miserably. Same thing with Pearl Harbor: as an action movie it was well done, but as a movie about WWII, it failed in depicting the subtle socio-political nuances such movies badly need to be taken seriously by people who actually studied history.

I predict the same thing will happen here as we see the designs and worse the general 'atmosphere' of the movie is miles away from the feel and atmosphere of the TF anime series ... ANY of the series going from G1 through BW until Galaxy Force.

Basically, all I'm expecting is a moderately enjoyable action movie with robots ... but not a 'Transformers' movie, which was what, I gather, lots of fans were hoping for.

That's all I'm expecting too. If it has giant robots and giant explosions, I will be happy. I'm not going to demand that every character be fleshed out and have all the best lines of dialogue. I hope that the TFs do have some character and some nice lines. I do hope we get memorable and nostalgic moments where Megatron belittles a plotting Starscream. But Im not going to cry if we dont get that.

It already came out in 1986... You people already have your TF movie. Go watch it and enjoy it. You have your precious and perfect TF TV shows. Go watch them. Go read your comics. Dont bash this movie just because it wasnt a carbon copy or direct adaption of those plots.

Let your mind open to a new and different concept of TF, it might actually be good. But you see? My point stands, you've already DECIDED that this movie doesnt FEEL like TF. You havent seen it, you havent seen a trailer, you dont know what it will feel like. You dont know.
