New to Ultraman

The original Ultraseven did have some very touchy moral episodes (such as genocide). In fact, one episode never aired because it involved nuclear warfare.

I also heard that Ultraseven was fully dubbed.

Was it like "was this the right thing after all?" at the end of each episode? If it's like that, I'm going to enjoy it very much.

Yeah the original Ultraman is good. Was my first series. I really do feel bad for the monsters though because most of time Ultraman just beats them up with no remorse in brutal ways. A lot of times they dont stand a chance. And theres a quite a few storys where a couple of the monsters arent monsters by choice and Ultraman just beats the **** out of them regardless.

The Science Patrol team are remorseful while Ultraman just handles the business, kinda gets you split in two. I remember there was one monster that didnt fight back at all, all it did was sleep. Then Ultraman found it and starts tossing it around and beating the crap out it and it never fought back. I swear the original Ultra is the biggest sadist lol. Occasionally he like to rip off the monsters body parts beat them up with it or even mock them with it.


The show picks up after the first few episodes in terms of overall production. Very good. And Hayata is played by a darn good actor.

Yeah, I saw a part where he rips off the ears (or at least these spinning things that may have been antennae) of a kaiju that was just standing there.

One parts pretty hilarious where hes fighting this other monster and he rips off some neck flap thing, like that stuff that reptiles have that flap up. Then he starts mocking the thing and bull fighting it. It was the most hilarious thing ever.

But the Science patrol team really get involved with more remose later on in the series, and everything in general gets better in terms of camera angles to story and action and Ultras armor/suit.

I think all Ultras I've seen like to rip off parts that look like they could come off the kaiju. That's kind of not cool. :sweat:

I want to get my copy of the series soon. It's a very good price too.

What episode are you on? You planning on watching the whole thing? Its pretty cool being able to say you watched the original Ultraman. Alot of times showa doesnt get watched. Let alone Ultraman Showa.

I've only seen a good amount of clips. I'm hoping to get my copy of the series soon. If I can go get it direct, it will cost me about $15 plus travel expenses which would be around $10, so I'm wanting to get it online for about $7-8 plus shipping costs.
