New to Ultraman

If youre looking to get into Ultra's there nothing wrong with starting with the original. That was my first, and its relatively easy to find, especially the dub which isnt bad at all. Plus the original Ultramans alter ego Hayata is one of the coolest characters in Toku. His calm, brave, dedicated, serious attitude is pretty cool, plus hes a darn good actor.

My 2nd Heisei era show is Mebius, mainly because it has the original Ultras and other Showa goodness.

So I'd recommend those two as a start, that way you get a good glimpse of both Heisei and Showa. You can also check out Ultraseven stuff, such as Ultraseven OVA's like Ultaseven X, Ultraseven Evolution, and so on. Those two I mentioned are subbed, generally most of the Ultrastuff is unsubbed. But yeah, Ultraseven is considered pretty much the most epic/badass Ultra.

Max 24-end are just HKs ...with the possibility of maybe some fixed up grammar etc. , but still HKs nonetheless.
Where to start , depends on your taste. If you like Showa period than I'd start with original. If newer, ...anyone's guess heh

I always thought the only good things with the Ultraseven name were the series and the 1998 OVT. Seven X and especially evolution tend to get harped on a lot by people around here. I haven't seen all of Evolution but what I saw was pretty boring and probably not the best idea for someone new to it all.

:eyebrow: Well most things Ultraman get harped in general here and in other forums. Seems to me like your discouraging the show being watched. Thats just how Ultraman series are.

And Ultraseven has no atmosphere timer which makes him so cool. Hes easily one of the most popular. Probably 2nd most popular. Due to what I just said, his appearance, and strong powers.

I started with Tiga... and I ended with... Tiga. Watch Tiga. I watched Ultraseven X with some in bad quality, so I'm planning to rewatch it later in the sofsubs in Portuguese, because as everyone knows, Californians all know some Portuguese, or at least enough to get them through Ulraseven X. I'll probably focus on the audio anyway and I'll check out the sub part when I can't catch something right away.

Erm, not really? People have aversion to them, but that's not the same as actively disliking them. The people I know that have a more open mind to them and even people who have been lifelong fans of the Ultra series do tend to dislike Seven X and Evolution. You can't really say either of those series are like Ultraseven because of how different the tones tend to be compared to the original Ultraseven series and their general narrative failings. I'm discouraging the shows I think are bad because they don't represent the better aspects of the franchise, I wouldn't tell someone new to something to watch a lesser work within the franchise. I never said people shouldn't watch Ultraman in general, heck, the first episode of Evolution is nearly an hour long and doesn't even have an Ultraman in it, not sure why you would recommend that to a newbie.

I know the links to Ultraseven X in good quality with decent english subs. On top of that theres a place where you can get Ultraseven X (if youre ready for showa) in Portuguese, considering it hasnt been subbed in english yet.

Well theres more than enough people that enjoyed 7X. I'd recommend anything with Ultraseven in the title simply because Seven is quite possibly, other than the original, the most badass Ultra.
