New Set/Actor Pics From 'Tekken'

As cool as that is, I kind of wish that they didn't feel like they have to cram every single character into this movie. I just know that the story is going to suffer because they're going overboard with giving everybody an appearance.

Yikes...sounds like the Tekken Anime.:sly:

Any news about King or Paul making an appearance?

The first MK movie was pretty good. They didn't cram all the MK characters they could into it. They stuck pretty much to just the first game. yeah they had Kitana in it, but it worked. The movie was fun and I had a blast watching it. The Liu Kang VS Reptile fight was damn fun...

And then MKA. The 2nd MK movie. They tried to cram as many MK characters into it as they could. Instead of following the MK2 game, as the first movie followed the first game, they just made one big cluster f of a movie. It was just crap.

The later is what I am seeing from the Tekken movie. They are going to cram as much as they can into 90mins, and IMO the movie will probably just be another MKA.

Difference is that MKA tried to cram in all the characters and make them well characters. Like I said earlier most of the characters appearing just look like random grunt fighters with little to no dialogue. Instead of having generic fighters for the main characters to beat down in the actual tournament sequences (like what that hilarious DoA movie did) they just put in characters fans will recognize. The Hwaorang fight has already been confirmed to be something like that and judging by the production photos a lot of the other characters will also end up like that (Miguel, Dragunov, Eddy, Yoshimitsu, etc.).

That and remember aside from IMDB there's nothing else to confirm their appearance in the film for a couple characters. So it could just be someone screwing with fans like what happened with King of Fighters.

But hey at least its shaping up to be better than MK:A with a steller cast (more so than any other video game adaption I'd say. But thats not saying much) and a plot (or lack thereof) that's similar to the games, ya know with an actual focus on the fighting and tournament aspect rather than some inane plot that had nothing to do with the game. I'm seeing Tekken more like the first Mortal Kombat, a step in the right direction. Too bad its getting a DVD release, I'm pretty sure a theatrical release would have been moderately successful, considering the small budget and the recent release of Bloodline Rebellion.

Yeah, I mean MKA pretty much tried to have lines for every character and make them all significant, which was pretty hard to follow unless you actually knew the MK universe.

I'm pretty sure a lot of the characters listed are pretty much cameo characters, and you'll probably see a few seconds of them and go "OH SNAP! IT'S _____!" and then it'll cut back to the main story. If anything, the characters are more fan service than actual plot devices, and I'm sure any casual person watching it would think nothing of it.
