Also it looks like there's some "big" toku names attached to the film as well. Taiyo Sugiura (Musashi Haruno, human host of Ultraman Cosmos) supposedly played Lee Chaolan.

As cool as that is, I kind of wish that they didn't feel like they have to cram every single character into this movie. I just know that the story is going to suffer because they're going overboard with giving everybody an appearance.

videogame fighting movies gets things wrong by adding too many unnecessary fighters into it. MK2 and DoA flicks, lmao...

Tekken should focus mostly on Kazama family period...

Well from the looks of it most of the supporting characters appear as over glorified cameos (Miguel, Dragunov, Hwaorang, Yoshimitsu, Craig Marduk, Eddy Gordo, Marshall Law, Xiaoyu, etc.) Instead of just random grunt fighters for the more important characters to beat down they're just using the characters from the game.

Take that with a grain of salt (except for Hwaorang thats been confirmed he's just an over glorified cameo), I'm making that assumption based on the pictures, a lot of characters look like they only get one or two scenes.

This is the supposed list of every character appearing in the film. Twenty in total, a little too much if most of them get more than a couple scenes.

Jin Kazama
Kazuya Mishima
Heihachi Mishima
Raven
Nina Williams
Anna Williams
Christie Montenero
Lee Chaolan
Jun Kazama
Steve Fox
Yoshimitsu
Marshall Law
Bryan Fury
Ling Xiaoyu
Eddy Gordo
Hwoarang
King
Craig Marduk
Sergei Dragunov
Miguel

Has there been any conclusive word on who's playing Hwoarang? They better not **** up my boy!

Glad Marshall Law is in it, but bummed that Lei WuLong aint in it. But, it wouldnt make sense to put him in it. Just wanna see one of my favorite characters represented.

Sucks that it gettin a Direct-to-DVD release, but what can we do. At least they could release it in the US. That would satisfy me. Guess Im gonna wait till appears on Amazon. lool

Yeah, looks like it is. His likeness isn't bad and he was in The Art of Fighting previously, so he at least has some martial arts experience already. Alright, it could be worse (*coughJamesFrancocough*).

Aside from a couple of characters (Nina, Christie, and kinda Law and Miguel), I think the cast looks pretty stellar and I'm still holding out hope for this flick.

You know, now that I think of it, giving it a DVD only release gives it more opportunity for people to appreciate it, and also a chance to become a "cult classic" or "sleeper hit". You know, the less publicized it is, the less expectations everyone will have, and thus makes everyone look at it for what it is. It'll probably bundled with some awesome special features too, which only emphasize this fact. Sorta how FF:AC was presented to the States.

Maybe I'm over-analyzing it.

Probably. I don't really expect it to make a splash outside of the Tekken and martial arts movie communities, but that doesn't mean it can't be a cult hit, like you said.
