A new Kirby title for Wii was recently revealed at some sort of investor's meeting at Nintendo. It. Looks. AMAZING.

It also bears a resemblance to a certain cancelled title for Gamecube.

No, it doesn't. At all. Except it has copy abilities.

GCN had four-player partner totems. This has double abilities like in 64.
