Depends what we're going for here. As a CGI monster wrecking stuff sure, but as a monster battling with other giant mutant monsters.. no.

American Godzilla is just a giant T-rex, where as the Japanese Godzilla has a more characterful design and could do more than bite and wag it's tail in a menacing way.
