Need some help with my xbox 360 please

Ok so I installed that program on to the usb drive & now it shows my video files on there how ever it says it needs to go to xbox live to get a update of some such in order to play them... is there anyway to get around that orr?....


Also ... in order to save my games I need to buy a Memory card specificly designed for the xbox360 ?.. I'm reading online & it seems a usb drive will not work correctly for doing this?.. & t hat they have a 500 meg one for $50 ?.. Rather lame when I can get a 60 gig usb drive for about the same price imo!

you can get a smaller one for around 15$ something like this if you don't want to get a bigger one, that should be enough for your game saves. to answer your other question, you pretty much need to be online to get the updates, some kiosks may still have the older updates, but i can't say for sure. The last update was months ago, and the one for playing those videos was over 4 months ago.. you will need a bigger memory card for those updates.

alternately if you don't want to bother with a memory card you can get one of these to save your games to your pc. but it still won't help you with the update

I have a 60 gb hard drive will that be enough?.. I've found after a few hours of research that there is no way to copy everything to you're new xbox... you can do save games but it won't do you're achievements & you can be labeled as a cheater or some such if you do as well :S Seems very strange for something that should be very simple :S

So I'm going to give up the copying for now &Just take it back to the store & get a new one since its ****ED!

Actually. You're achievement are stored to your live account
if you make one (it's free... come on.. just do it) and then just reactive that same account on your next xbox, your achievements will carry over. you can transfer information to your new xbox, but you would need to buy a bigger hard drive. larger hard drives can be connected to older hard drives for a one time transfer. Basically just get a 15$ memory card, and make a free (silver) live account, and you should be set, the live account will also allow you to get the required updates.

if you haven't made an account before i can't guarantee anything since i never played mine before i made my account. but it should carry over. If it doesn't.. well.. no real point to having achievement if no one else can see them anyway, all they are are bragging rights
