Need help finding two anime series...(Galvion and Borgman)

A recent thread I made discussing the anime that I'm trying to watch during the summer happened to be lacking two series:

Chou Kousoku Galvion and Sonic Soldier Borgman.

I did my best, but couldn't find either series subbed. Does anyone know where I can?

Nope. Both of these were extreme rarities to find even raw back in the VHS era. I cannot entirely confirm that either series was ever completely subbed. If it was, it was probably subbed on VHS, which leaves you at the mercy of whether or not anyone with copies decided to digitize them.

There are dozens and dozens of series that were only subbed on VHS, often in quite good quality, and then never circulated in encode format once the fandom switched over to being largely digital. Macross 7 is one of the handful of old VHS subs that was dumped, so when you watch that you'll get a good idea of what was lost.

As for how difficult they'll be to find now, it's hard to say. Borgman's vintage isn't one that most American fans pay any attention to, so any raws you found would probably have to be sourced from Japanese file sharers. Galvion is both vintage and honestly a bit obscure, so even Japanese sources may not have it.

In short, if anyone had any way of providing either series, I would die to have it myself because they're both stupendously rare. Or at least they have been whenever I've wanted to lay hands on them.

It looks like this is the sequel OVA and the film, not the original series. The original runs for a decidedly odd 35 episodes, but is supposed to be one of the unsung classics of late 80's action anime. Tekkaman Blade, for instance, I've often seen dismissed as an inferior knockoff of it.

(Though both shows owe a certain debt to the surreal and wonderfully bombastic Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos.)

Darn. Thanks for the info, at least. As far as getting to watch them, that depends on how desperate you are/how serious you are about watching series in good video quality.
